Feel so lucky this place is so close to where we live! Firstly, the food was out of this world (LOVE being asked if we wanted the burgers medium or well done.) The staff were also so chill, friendly and welcoming. Good beer, good food and good vibes - Can’t wait to come back!

The ambience was great, the service was good and the food was excellent. A good home cooked roast with lovely roasties, fresh Yorkshire pud. Great vegetables and proper gravy. I haven't had a better Sunday roast anywhere. All that - plus two large glasses of wine for £37. I thought it was excellent value.

I went for Sunday roast which is such great value. I had pork which was succulent, the veg were lovely, potatoes just right. However, the real star of the show has to be the delicious gravy, absolutely wonderful. Oh the beers pretty good too

A great selection of local South East London ales and lagers. And ask for the half pint of pork scratchings.

Decided to visit for a beer and Friday burger. Hello my new favourite local! It's dark (helped by wood paneling) and delicious. The boys have beards, the beer is varied and the Wilson Picket burger was meaty. They even serve proper chips in a pint glass. Loved it, will come again and suggest you give it a try.

Friday's outing saw me getting a train from Elephant & Castle for the first time ever. Not knowing quite how far through the shopping centre it was (lovely place by the way), I ended up missing my train and spending 20 minutes with a pushy but entertaining Big Issue seller. After parting with some change, he gave me a manly hug and sent me on my way to Sevenoaks.

I got off a few stops short of Kent at Crofton Park, just down the road from Brockley, to visit the latest pub venture from the clever chaps at Late Knight's Brewery. Having recently spent a great evening at Beer Rebellion in Gipsy Hill, I had high hopes for their new joint, London Beer Dispensary.

They have taken over one half of Mr.Lawrence's wine bar & shop on Brockley Road, still sharing a garden with their grape-loving neighbours. Most unusually, they have stripped away the previous space-wasting bar, and replaced it with a large central barrel. There is no bar. Anywhere. Just a load of cask and keg lying around, waiting to be drunk. Genius.

The bearded duo of Darren & Aidan man the open space, offering up tasters and friendly advice on what to drink. With cask at £3.40/pint and keg at £4.20/pint, you should be able to go through the majority of the 8 casks, 3 kegs and 5 ciders with friends without breaking the bank. For a bit of fun, order from the mysterious Dark and Light kegs which are only revealed once totally finished. They imported this idea from their Brighton Beer Dispensary.

The likes of Weird Beard Decadence Stout (on the Dark tap), Truefitt Erimus and Great Heck Amish Mash (awesome name) impressed on our visit. There are plenty of exciting bottled beers if nothing on the board takes your fancy, as well as a fine selection of whiskies. You can probably bring a glass of wine in from next door if you ask nicely too.

The top notch burgers from Beer Rebellion are on offer here, and the quality remains high. Also, Late Knights' witty scribblings are once again present - the emergency Stella box was our favourite.

My hopes were not misplaced. They've set up another cracking little beer (and whisky) haven in an unlikely SE London location. Watch out Peckham & Penge, you are probably next.

I've been drinking here for years and while the beers aren't the cheapest in Brockley they're the best by a long way. Great staff too - friendly and personable, always ready for a natter at a quiet moment. A lovely welcoming environment that's a real asset to the area.

Amazing community orientated pub in Brockley. Staff are lovely - if you’re a regular, Beth the bar manager will find out what you like and keep it stocked. Staff tend to stay a long time so it’s nice to be able to build up a rapport. One of the very few places locally with a good choice of ciders including scrumpies and flat ciders on rotation. Muddy Scamp is a favourite! Excellent selection of well chosen and frequently rotating cask and keg beers and a very good fridge with a choice of cans and bottles, including fruit beers and porters and stouts. Whilst owned by Southey there is a very wide range of choice which is unusual for a tied house. Dogs and kids are welcome which is lovely! Fun and lively karaoke once a month. Highly recommended

Went in this evening for a few pints and it’s been fabulous (also more than a few pints!). The lady behind the bar was very informative and chatty - very helpful especially for people like us who have no idea about beer! The music was great too. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be returning soon!

Nice evening here. Good atmosphere. Great selection of cask and keg ales. All well kept and tasty. However, this would have been 5 stars but for the price. Cask ale is ok. But £6.60 for a pint of keg! Come on. This is Crofton Park, not central London! That aside, still worth a visit. And the pizzas look lovely.

This is a South East London gem. A place for beer enthusiasts that also makes good pub food. Try the nachos and you won’t be disappointed. I also love how they have chilli in many dishes! Staff is very welcoming and they welcome dogs too. What’s not to like?

A very nice little pub - my local - with a very good selection of beers, a real comfort food menu (delicious burgers, wings, sausage rolls etc). The staff are very friendly and the whole place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If it looks full, still pop in as there's more seating at the back down the little corridor.

We popped in on a Thursday afternoon. I think we caught the employee on an off day, as he had a cold. He was friendly enough, but even though I mentioned it was our first time, he didn't offer to make any recommendations, which I would have liked. I had a Blueberry and Vanilla stout and my boyfriend had a Southey Ale of some sort. Both were lovely and something we hadn't tried before. I think some better music rather than washed out acoustic covers of bad pop songs would have been well received. My boyfriend and I love so many different genres, but something more appealing definitely could have been played. We will probably be back, but wouldn't go out of our way to go there especially.
