My friend recommends the bakehouse and it is absolutely amazing. Both the drinks and the bakery are freshly made, nicely crafted, and wonderfully tasted. The bakehouse is so popular that sometimes in the afternoon there are only drinks available. The variety of the bakery might change, but it usually gives me a wonderful surprise. In sunny days you can enjoy the drink and bakery on the bench at the door. The street has a vintage vibe and it might give you a time-travelling experience, like mine. 😌
A great bakery in Covent Garden, and very close to Regents street station. The range of savoury and sweet options are great, all fresh and all made in house. Very much recommend. There are a few suggestions that could make this place even better. 1) Some seating (few benches available outside if you fancy the company of pigeons that are equally interrelated in Fortitude’s produce, nothing inside), and 2) a larger service area (currently the entrance is also the exit so you have to squeeze past the queue of folks waiting to be served next to exit). Other than that, the produce is excellent and everything is wrapped in wax paper to preserve freshness.
This is one of the top bakeries London has to offer.
Amazing soda breads, bakes, cakes, coffees made in house daily.
Expect queues, but they move fast as there is no sit in area.

I finally got hold of a Beignet - it’s taken months. 100% worth the wait. It tastes heavenly. The perfect amount of sweetness and flavour. They only appear at 11am. So turn up after 11am!
This place is lovely. The staff are so friendly. Such lovely treats! You have to visit!
The beignet is well worth it’s hype and £5.5 price tag. First it’s massive and easily shared between two - ask server to cut for you and eat with cutlery. The outside is a fried donut but unlike normal donuts it’s not sweet and overall texture is light yet satisfying which makes it a perfect balance for the very generous dollop of sweet caramel cream and ever so slightly sour fruit compote inside. Mine was fresh and the fruit compote still slightly warm. Amazing treat.
Great bakes! A good variety of sweet & savoury food. Latte was great! Love the seats outside. Queue moves fast too. Enjoyed the scone as it had a giant serving of clotted cream.
Visited near 9:20am on Sunday and there was already a queue. The line moved reasonably fast and the staff was super friendly. They have a lot of options. We ordered sausage roll, spinach pie, morning bun with custard, brownie and several others, but we could not get the big bun with white cream. The spinach pie and morning bun (likely made with corn flour) are the most tasty. For my taste, others are a bit too sweet or oily, but certainly packed with flavour.
After seeing this bakery pop up everywhere on my social media - especially with their deliciously and heavenly looking beiget - I finally went to Fortitude to give this place a go. Situated on the back street of Russell Square station, this place was an easy find with a sign that indicated baked goods and treats nearby.
They sadly didn’t have the beiget, but I had tried the next best thing that they had on offer at around 1pm when I went… their creamy scone. It is filled with a thick layer of clotted cream, raspberry jam topped with raspberry icing and dried raspberry pieces. The scone itself had a hardness to it unlike others I tried which was nice. Clotted cream was light, creamy and divine upon every bite, the best I’ve had. I’m usually a massive fan of the clotted cream in scones, so this was easily the best highlight for me. However, the icing was a tad too sweet for my liking, though I usually don’t like icing sugar in general so this is just a personal preference. Other than that, I see why the icing and pieces complement the look of the scone. Overall, I very much enjoyed it as a one-time try. For £5.50, slightly expensive but as it’s central London, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Do be warned that queues can get super long. I was there around 1pm when the queue wasn’t so bad, but not too long after, it became super busy.
Lovely little breakfast/lunchtime spot hidden away from Bloomsbury, but I definitely need to come back here and get my hands on their beignet and try their savoury options.

This place has some amazing savoury and sweet delights which will make your taste buds explode.
We enjoyed a warm custard and chocolate croissant, which was exceptional.
The feta cheese and spinach pastry is delicious and needs to be four times the size! 🤤
Cinnamon roll was sweet, soft and chewy, as it ought to be, tasted like more!
Definitely get there early to beat the queue, if you have to queue it is worth the wait!
Well done Fortitude Bakery, keep pushing!
Delicious pastries, bought $40 worth of stuff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything was delicious. Came half an hour after opening on Wednesday, and the line wasn't bad at all. Bikers mostly. The only problem - they start making the beignets at 11 am. It's 30 minutes from our hotel and I was extremely disappointed. It wasn't mentioned nowhere in the reviews that I read. All workers were extremely nice. As mentioned before, there needs to be a menu of everything offered, not just coffee and tea. There are so many choices. Highly recommended anyway.
