in a little more than a year this cafe has turned what was a grotty corner on one of the back streets of the Old Kent Road into a social hub. This former closed-down betting shop, all broken plastic with a bit of a funny smell has suddenly become quite a stylish little undiscovered spot in London, uniting the streets surrounding it into a little community and giving the impression it had always been there. This lovely little spot not only makes lovely coffee, cakes and light meals (please try the Belgian Beer and Beef Broth- it is TO DIE FOR!), but the lovely atmosphere and friendly staff makes it a lovely spot to wile away the afternoon. Ooh and Good News! - I hear they've just got a drinks licence too!

The Hot Chocolate is sublime you will not be disappointed, make sure you order a large cup! If you're feeling peckish try the smoked cheese and chutney toasted sandwich; delicious No exaggeration this place is a hidden gem, pure quality.

The best place for coffee in the area and whenever I go in it strikes me how brilliant the owners are and how welcoming the staff are. Dogs are welcome, there is cyclist parking and lovely interiors (oh, and tasty cakes!). Would highly recommend!

It's a great local coffee house, can watch the world go by. Cups a bit small.... But can't get it all.

Where else can you get exemplary coffee, Belgian ephemera and great advice on the menu? 'Stop bossing me around'= a lesson for us all. Oh and cakes, always cakes

Ordered a takeaway flat white from Crop and Co today. My first visit here, and I can say nothing bad about the coffee! Smooth and delicious!

Cute and cosy coffee shop serving Grind coffee and delicious cakes. Breakfast and brunch style dishes include sourdough bread / toast with toppings - scrambled eggs, smashed avocado, goats cheese with walnuts and honey - simple food but tasty. Nice place to hang out during the week if you want to take your lap top and be with other people - but do buy food while you are there. No lap tops at weekend though (and quite right too, have a rest!). They have tables outside. Inside the decor is bare brick walls and wooden floor boards. The owners have decorated the space with vintage bits and pieces.

Perfect matcha latte and turmeric latte in beautiful little place with a great atmosphere. You can feel what a labour of love creating the place has been for its founders.

I love this cosy coffee shop. Came across it as my brother & I were passing the area our grandparents lived years ago. The area has changed so much & We were happily surprised to find a place to stop for a great coffee & just a really chilled friendly venue. The inside has a feel of the past, it’s quirky & cosy & with the plants it’s also got a trendy chilled vibe we loved sitting inside (we also sat outside on another visit as we loved it the first time & we only live in Lewisham so not too far to Cooke for a great coffee & pastry) - coffee is great, pastries too - the rest of the cake selection is tempting as is the menu - Seriously In my top ten best coffee places in the south east - going to revisit with our mum soon :-)

My partner came across this place while visiting classes. After reading the reviews and seeing the menu we gave it a go. Got here early Saturday morning. Nice and really cozy atmosphere. Almost like home. We managed to get the small room in the back and just relaxed for the next 3 hours. Great, delicious and fresh food. The mullet wine is to die for. Properly done. Definitely will be back. Give this place a go. Hard to come by such cool places.

Can't rate the food, as we came after food service time, but the cocktails were delicious and the bartenders were amazingly friendly and really made the entire experience stand out!

Super cute independent cafe. Vintage decor, free WiFi, alternative milks. About 10 indoor tables, including a little “snug” area out back, and 8 outdoors. Coffee very good. 10p off for bringing own cup. They do cocktails (aperol spritz, house wines per glass) and have comedy and quiz nights. A lovely little hub. Lots of laptop users in the day (none allowed weekends 10-3) and great tunes playing. UPDATE Sept 2020: they sell houseplants now! From £6.95-£165 and a few pots and hangers too.

This is an absolutely marvellous gem of a place in the area. The coffee they use is delicious, the cakes are fabulous but the main event here for me is the chorizo brie sourdough toast. It’s excellent. It transcends time and space. It’s elegant. The atmosphere in the little cafe is always chilled and friendly- I almost don’t want to promote it so people won’t storm it. It’s fab.

We had a private booking for an event in the evening and it was absolutely amazing. The venue was perfect size for our group of around 20 and the venue were so helpful in setting up, decorating and getting everything sorted. They were so kind and could not recommend them enough!

One of my favourite spots when it comes to a breakfast treat and some chill time in the terrace under the sun. Love the vibe and the decor. Feels really authentic and local!

Nice little place that is a great for a coffee, snack or breakfast. Charming decor and a cosy environment. The avocado and bacon sour toast with scrambled eggs is refreshing and delicious. However, it is a little let down by its surroundings as it sits overlooking a less than attractive junction with industrial warehouses across the road. The cafe runs a policy of having quiet times from laptops which should be noted if you plan on grabbing a coffee and getting on with work. But otherwise a great place to snuggle up with a book on a cold, wet days.
