Have come here quite a few times, super great value - really good price and great serving sizes!! The staff are always really friendly too. The food is good, casual chinese-fusion. I’ve tried quite a lot of the menu, it’s all tasty but probably a little too flavoursome for my liking. Pork Belly could be cooked a little more so the fat melts instead of being chewy and the bone marrow rice is tasty, but oily. The fave dish for me is probably the green curry chicken (not very authentic but I like it anyway!) and the wonton soup, which tastes authentic and has a really clean broth and good bite to the noodles - I just don’t have the photo of either dishes.
Bone marrow fried rice was really great! First time having such an unique dish as well. It is a very greasy dish, so I can imagine not everyone will like this dish.
Very instagram worthy looking place, but when I was here there were no other customers, so it felt a bit empty.
Also, I think the dish I ordered wasn’t that expensive, I would come back again, the next time I visit London.
Being a big fan of Chinese food, we were super excited to visit this laid-back and welcoming chinese restaurant in Southwark. Our first impressions were great as we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who talked through the menu and gave suggestions on what to order. You could tell she was very passionate about the food and really wanted to show off what this place had to offer us!
We opted for a few different dishes to try and we blown away by each and every one of them! We were served with some Handmade pork dumplings (£5.50) to begin. The batter was just perfect and the filling was so delicious. They were served with chilli oil and coriander and a small side of fiery spicy sauce to dip which was amazing.
We then tucked into the following dishes:
Beef Noodle Soup: Beef shin, Sichuan Peppercorn, Dark beef broth (£8.50)
Golden Honey and Spice Roasted Chicken: Corm fed chicken, curry spices with a honey glaze (£7.00 for 3 pieces)
Green Curry Roasted Chicken: Green chilies, Chicken thigh, Seasonal Vegetables (£7.50)
Twice Cooked Pork: Pork Belly, Leak, Peppers (£7.50)
Bone Marrow Fried Rice: Roasted Bone Marrow, Peppers, Wild Rice (£8.00)
The dishes were outstanding. The Beef Noodle Soup was astonishingly tender and the beef was literally melt in your mouth! The texture of the soft beef was a great compliment to the thick noodles that accompanied this dish.
The honey glazed chicken was succulent and had a fabulously sweet crispiness to its skin. The Green Curry Roasted Chicken was some of the most succulent chicken we have tasted. The chef is very clever with this dish because the chicken is clearly baked/boiled not fried, but the skin has the effect, crispiness and texture of fried chicken. So really you have best of both worlds here! The flavour of the green curry was beautiful and was a super enjoyable dish.
We absolutely loved the pork too – I mean who doesn’t love a bit of pork belly?! Our favourite was the Bone Marrow Fried Rice which was AMAZING. It was so soft and full of flavour, and the wild rice was to die for! This dish was a complete pleasure for the taste buds.
We loved their enthusiasm and passion to create incredibly beautiful meals and the word is spreading about how good this restaurant is. We were replenished with complimentary fresh juices and jasmine teas throughout the meal. It is little touches like that which will make people come back time and again.
Whoever has said you can’t have a good but cheap meal in London is now proved wrong! We recommend ordering a couple of dishes and sharing the love! We absolutely loved this gem of a Chinese restaurant in Southwark.
Really friendly price here.
Very good roasted chicken, crispy skin and juicy meat, guilty free as well ( comparing to fried chicken), strongly recommend this dish!
Salad is good, the black fungus is better than I thought.
Ordered beef noodle soup and spicy pork belly on rice for take away. There weren’t on the menu on that day but I asked the staff she said they could make them. I like beef noodle but the pork belly was just ok. I had bone marrow rice before which was really nice. The food and service were really good will go back to try other dishes.
Loved it. Superb wonton noodle soup. The dumplings are amazing and the bone marrow fried rice is stunning. Can't wait to go back
Finally got to try NumNum! The beef noodle soup was nicely cooked, good flank texture, flavoursome and got a nice spice to it. Suspect noodles is Taiwanese style?
I liked the grilled dumplings, the skin isn't too thick, nice balance of meat and liked the chilli sauce that came with it.
Roasted golden honey spice chicken was nice, though it tasted more like Indian cuisine chicken. So will have to try NumNum style next time.
I really liked the wonton noodles, good wonton, very nice texture and noodles well cooked.
Will have to come back and try the dan dan noodles next time.
Really lovely little place with some great dishes. The Dandan noodles were especially good.
Very amiable staff made it a great experience. I look forward to visiting their restaurant when it opens.
Great take on modern Sichuan food, everything was very flavourful and reasonably priced. Delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. The crispy chicken was absolutely moreish.
Nice vibe and spacious place to eat. We went at lunchtime and liked there were only a few options to choose from. Service was quick and the food was tasty. I ordered the wonton noodle soup and was surprised that the soup was actually tasty and well flavoured and not watery. Portion sizes were massive! My partner had the Kung pao chicken with rice but there was lots of rice left over. He also ordered a side of the pork dumplings, there were 6 of them, a good size and tasty too.
