One of the finest pubs. Great beer, very reasonable prices. Nice snacks, very friendly. Small patio and heated conservatory. A must for any beer lover.

A great pub. The beer is good and there is usually a selection real ciders. The food is limited to toasted sandwiches and pork pies but these are reasonably priced and good quality. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Lots of social events advertised in the evenings.

Top Pub! Run by lovely people creating a proper "welcome all" community pub space. The best beers, beautifully kept and modestly priced and many, free local entertainments from music through quizzes to wine & cheese. Absolutely "what is not to like!"

Two bars and a outside patio area, this a great pub for warm summer days. It has a good range of beers at reasonable prices. It is on the corner of Norman Road and Deguere Road. There are a few parking space at the side or its only a short walk from South Wimbledon station. It has basic food sandwiches and rolls but cheap. It's worth taking the effort to find.

Lovely pub. Reasonable prices, wide range of beer and games for adults and children. Delicious pork pies. Function room upstairs is good for events.

Best thing about this pub? The real ale is great quality but won't break the bank. You can order 3 pints and get change from a tenner! How often can you say that these days? Quirky, backstreet boozer. I would recommend a visit if you're on the way to the tennis or wandering down the Wandle! New management are really making a go of it with loads of events and a warm welcome.

Almost totally goat free (if you ignore the ones on the inside of the conservatory windows); good beer, good atmosphere, excellent staff.

Second visit and once again was greeted warmly by the staff. The manager recognised me and came over to say hello. Not often you get that warm country pub feel in London. Good beers and nice atmosphere, this is going to become a regular for me.

Had a stag night there on 22nd August - the Tribbles couldn't have been more accomodating and we all felt at ease. The beer was marvellous as was the the food - just right!! Thank you,

Great selection of beers, nice atmosphere, plenty of board games for the kids to play. Only gripe is every time I've been there I've ordered a Pork Pie and it's NEVER in stock.... won't stop me coming though.. .

Great real ales looked after and served in excellent condition. One of the guest ales 'Hopfest' tasted last night was particularly nice.

Friendly, idiosyncratic, with decent drinks brewed locally. It's also fairly cheap for the area.
Nothing special to look at but it has a real community feel, and is hidden away down a back street - i'd lived in the area 20 years before i discovered it!

To my knowledge this is the only pub in London that carries beer from the award winning hop back brewery. The brewery has a history of over a 100 years with a fascinating story to go with. Sultan is one of those traditional road house pub which has been there for years, most people know each other and equally fun to be a first time visitor.

Sultan name doesn't come from a ruler but a stallion who apparently was some sort of a legend on the race track. The pub is set in two rooms which I believe is again a century old design model and gives you a chunk of ..or shall I say a pint of history. There is dart board and a TV, both work well.

I really liked the typhoon and summer lightening beers..However there are 5 more interesting options to choose from.

The pub food is decent nothing that you haven't seen before. If you are out on a pub crawl in south London make this one of the stops and I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

Cheers

Excellent pub about 10 minutes walk from Colliers Wood tube station. Six cask ales - and three ciders - on handpump when I last visited. Some outdoor seating. An attractive two-bar 1950s brick building built to replace original demolished during the war and now extended with a conservatory. Has been identified by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) as having a regionally important historic pub interior. Rescued from likely permanent closure in 1994 by Hop Back Brewery; this is their only London pub.

What a fantastic pub! Great to find somewhere from the Hopback stable in an unassuming location in the backstreets of Colliers Wood I love a bit of Summer Lightning and came on a few recommendations and The Sultan didn’t disappoint. A very traditional feel with friendly staff and a great selection of well priced ales and some more standard lagers on draught. There’s plenty of outside seating too and the situation on a quiet side road is very pleasant too. Well worth the trip over this way.

Lovely dog friendly pub. Great find. Proper community place with lots of ciders and real ales on when we came this evening. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something authentic and friendly. Can't see a TV for the sport (just as well!). Staff are great and attentive. Nothing not to like Oh and the prices are really good.

My favourite pub in London. I'm lucky to live nearby, but friends from Croydon and Brixton travel to meet me here because they love it too. Good beer, super friendly staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We need more pubs like this!

The very best pub in the area - proper pints, ales kept well and served with care. The staff are clearly trained in serving an actual pint and not the under-serve so rife in other establishments. Staff and punters welcoming to anyone and everyone, and a real community pub which supports good causes.

Warm welcoming neighbourhood pub, with friendly knowledgeable staff. Having tried most of the GBBG pubs, this is one of the best in South London that has (based on two visits split by 6 months)consistently well kept real ale from one of the best brewers in the UK. A bit off the beaten path but worth the journey. Seasonal ales, but the summer lightning golden bitter and entire stouts seem to be on most of the year and are exemplary of the style.

Went here for the first time recently after living in Tooting Broadway for 10 years. I can't believe I didn't know about this place before now. It's my ideal type of pub with a friendly atmosphere and really well-kept cask beer at a reasonable price. A hidden gem.

Update: enjoyed multiple pints in a friendly atmosphere watching the 6 nations. Can't fault the pub for its beer or the way it looks after its patrons. Had not been for ages, but very happy to be back drinking beautifully kept, cask beer. The conservatory has expanded since the last time I was there, meaning more places to sit in comfort in the bar, though less garden space if warmth ever returns.
