I booked this pub for my husband's 40th birthday and a friend's 34th. We hired the 'snug' room for a sit down dinner on a saturday evening and the staff were fabulous at ensuring we could all fit and still maintain a wonderful ambience. When we arrived we were so pleasantly surprised. The room was bigger than we expected, the set up was perfect and we really felt like we had "hired" a room when really it was free and private - fabulous! The lighting is perfect, you feel warm and cosy. The food was great. I had the cheeseburger with bacon. But I have to say what topped it all was the staff, namely Gavin who was so lovely. He had a smile on his face the whole night and couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with. He even included 2 bottles of prosecco to celebrate the birthdays! The venue itself is located across 3 floors and all give differing feels to cater for your needs. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. Thank you again Gavin!

Went to The Islington Townhouse for the Burns Night meal and the food was very good indeed. Presentation and quality of food was 5 . The only disappointment was Cranachan wasn't authentic, however it was delicious fruit and cream dessert. My Scottish partner's Cranachan is what Cranachan should be. Our waitress was very enthusiastic and was eager to please. However being seated upstairs, the process of settling the bill was rather lengthy and we had go down and pay at the main bar. A good place to eat and we will be back.

I had an absolute great experience: staff is very friendly and it is definitely worth to stay there for dinner after a few drinks at the bar. Great atmosphere, I loved staying in the little secret cocktail bar upstairs.

The upstairs bartender was great. He went through all this trouble to get us a table. The place had a really nice atmosphere, great mojitos, lovely.

Extremely pleasant pub, friendly staff and correct price. I'm just missing the tables that used to be outside, but I guess as soon as the work is finished on top of the pub, they'll be back.

A pleasant friendly pub with a cheerful atmosphere. A good spot to go near The Angel for a couple of drinks. A couple of cold lagers were what we boys had and for our female companions the house Pinot Grigio was just fine.

Spacious clean pub in a convenient location. They were kind enough to put on the Football, was a little surprised it wasn't playing on super Sunday. Sunday roasts post lots of options and the chicken I had was quite good. The staff was friendly and the manager knew more than a thing or two about cask ales. The upstairs was bustling, lots of people coming in and out to enjoy a boozy Sunday, but it had no real impact on the calmer downstairs environment. I was with my little one and we had a great time. Overall a nice spot to catch as pint, a match or a meal.

A must-visit! Very cute pub, great festive decorations, kind staff. Booking for a big group was very simple! They have tasty menu with a big variety of options. Very beautifully decorated for the festive season! If you want to have the set menu, you need to let them know a few days in advance. Really great place to visit!

Thanks to the staff who were so keen to ensure my small group had a good experience of the women's world cup. The result wasn't what we wanted, but the venue was very considerate. Thanks 😊

Great Pub near the market and shopping centre. Staff are friendly and offer table service. Good selection of beers and 2-4-1 cocktails during happy hour. Went on Sunday for a roast and it was lovely. Nice place for a meeting with friends ,to grab a drink and watch sports

A great little corner venue with good beer and great staff, shabby chic place with eclectic furnishings. There is a hippopotamus, music playing and footy on the television but neither are intrusive. A very pleasant place to visit and spend an hour or two putting the world to rights!

Food was nice, really nice upstairs for a party that we were attending and pints are cheap for the area

Came in for dinner on Sunday. Arrived at 18:30. Immediately was seated and welcomed by the staff. Had a Sunday Roast and it was excellent. The horseradish alone might have been worth the trip. Will be back.

Great service. My son and I reserved a table for food and drink and to watch the North London Derby. The table saved for us was a long way from a screen and the place was pretty rammed, so there was no chance to swap to another. The woman behind the bar was very understanding and helped us move the table to a better place. Thank you! The 2-0 result was great too!

Had a Sunday Roast there and really enjoyed the food! Pork belly was one of the best I’ve ever had, veggies were well but not over cooked and gravy was great. Service was impeccable and the place is well located and beautiful per se. The only down was the Yorkshire pudding which was quite tiny. Nevertheless I would recommend and return!
