This is a proper pub (with a proper history)...Eddie Izzard and Jack Dee did stand up gigs here back in the day....but what's important is the place and the staff are friendly and helpful, and the locals are nice (except me, obviously!). I used to live next door but 10 years ago moved a mile or so away - it's still my local. Recommended.
Had our Christmas do last night and the staff helped make it a great success. The food was excellent and I can recommend the leather bottle to one and all.
Great atmosphere, lovely decor throughout the pub and friendly, professional bar staff too.. which makes a nice change �
I love this pub. I can take my dog in, the food is absolutely brilliant and the staff are wonderful.

Always go there with the kids for dinner , family friendly place .some places u go with children they make u feel uncomfortable but not here lovely place .

There are always a few meals which are more of experiences that you never forget. My unplanned meal at Leather Bottle was one such experience and it would be safe to say that it was the best English meal I've had.
It looks like any other ordinary pub located in the middle of the always secluded Kingston Road, but I can assure you that this place is going to give you that warm fuzzy feeling inside. With a friendly staff and sparsely populated with local families and old 'uncles' by the fireplace, it was no surprise that we spent more than an hour at lunch on a busy day.
I will vouch for this - a Breakfast Baguette for lunch is extremely appropriate, it makes for a perfectly filling lunch and for egg lovers like myself this would be the most obvious choice. I ended the meal with a warm apple pie and it left me smiling the rest of the day.
I still can't put my finger on it, but there is just something special about Leather Bottle, maybe it is how homely and comfortable the place makes one feel.
Good price for decent food. Had a pint of Guinness and chat with friends, enjoyed the food with friends. This local pub, which would not pack up with people, was a good one.

The staff went out of their way to make my sons 18th birthday friends and family gathering so personal and lovely. They set up an area for us, laid it out beautifully and then served us with such warmth and friendliness. I highly recommend The Leather Bottle and their amazing staff team.

Above average green king pub. More reasonable costs than most. Excellent young manager who went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome. Visited 3 times in a 2 week period. Good pint of Landlord and good food. Cocktails are especially good value.
Nice, traditional local pub with great outdoor seating area. Traditional pub grub but at reasonable prices, and decent quality / cooked well. Gammon, pineapple, egg & chips is a guilty pleasure!
Decent selection of well-kept ales under £5. A good option if you’re in the area.
Visited here after not being in the area for a while, and I have to say, the new menu is really fabulous - perfect for sharing bits with the girls. They had sport on the TVs but it wasn’t oppressive and the atmosphere was lovely - lots of different groups of people. We sat outside in the sun and the bar tender who served us, I think his name was Cameron, looked after us so well, checking on us outside. Now I’m back in the area I think this will become my new local!
Nice local pub with decent food and an excellent outdoor seating area. The app is easy to navigate and the food arrived fairly promptly. Their indoor atmosphere was somewhat stuffy - could do with more ventilation, yes, bring in more fresh air. After our meal we went into the beer garden, so nice we stayed for another round of drinks! We will do al fresco dining the next time we visit.
Great place but they forgot to fugue the order of one of their customers. On Friday evenings there’s a group of people looking depressed and drinking but I can’t hold it against the pub. Would recommend.

We chose this traditional local pub for a local family celebration of my father's 90th birthday. The Ruddles Beef Pie, Chicken Katsu curry & Huntman Chicken were all very tasty and recommended. The young and highly attentive staff made the evening. The staff we came in contact with for our party are a credit to Greene King, always helpful and smiling - even when at times they were so busy. We must mention these local heroes... Aaliyah, Justin, Sumeah & Eliza - thanks to you all (and for singing Happy Birthday while bringing the candle lit brownie!).
Before plunging in to the negatives I'm going to say that this is a nice enough pub that I will happily use again. Crisp delicious lager served in a spacious pub conveniently located in a leafy corner of southwest London - Ah! What could be nicer on a sunny Friday afternoon?
Well, the following things could be nicer:
1) quite slow service at the bar, and even when there's only two people waiting, the bar staff still have absolutely no clue who is next and constantly have to ask. My top tip for improving this pub is to give the bar staff a bit more training and encourage them to pay attention.
2) the nachos are poor.
Neither of those things spoiled my overall positive experience, hence the four stars (3 would seem a bit harsh).
