The food is excellent with generous portions in a bistro setting. Where else are you going to get genuinely top quality restaurant food at such reasonable prices. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping trainees to learn their skills - priceless. If you are interested in the bar, you can expect an extensive range of drinks and cocktails. Highly recommended.
Well worth putting up with the service from the waiting staff just need a bit more training however the chef's creations are amazing to behold and savour.

This is the teaching restaurant of Hackney Community College, but I was rather impressed by the food. Comfortable space, good soundtrack and a pretty outdoor area in the back in nice weather. We shared the asparagus to start, which was blanched then griddled and served with a tasty lovage alioli. Good dish and nicely balanced. Nice texture on the home made alioli.
My companion's main of hake was really good. Crispy skin. The potato and chorizo accompaniments worked well. My shrimp burger was a little too uniform in taste with every bite the same. Nice deep fried burger though, and the mayo based sauce was surprisingly peppery and full of capers.
We shared a dessert of salted caramel and amaranth pot. I liked the accompanying cake but the pudding was too creamy for my taste. Oh the other hand, my companion who loves rich desserts was ecstatic.
Service was friendly but could be a little haphazard. Our waitress forgot to bring the lemon my companion asked for to accompany his hake. Happily my shrimp burger did come with quite a large wedge of lemon that we could share.
Pretty quiet on a Thursday night, we had the whole garden almost for ourselves, a luxury in London ;) Service was amazing, everyone so welcoming. The food was Indian that night and we loved it. Thanks for having us!

What an absolute gem. Phenomenal service (attentive but not rushed) and lovely atmosphere. Spacious airy dining room and huge garden with plentiful outdoor seating (where they grow their own herbs). Everyone very kind and friendly, and went above and beyond to add special touches - all the chefs came out to sing happy birthday to another (delighted) diner and others were taking away herbs from the garden. Lots of variety on the menu and excellent value, with a 3 course lunchtime deal on offer. Perfect on a sunny lunchtime and would be equally great for a social get-together or a solo working lunch. Beautifully presented dishes in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. There were 5 of us ordering different dishes all delicious. Very attentive service staff, a real find would definitely recommend.

Something went a little wrong with the menu and less than half of it was available (understandable at the end of its run during uncertain Covid times), though we still easily found enough delicious items for a great meal.
It was also easily the best value meal I've had in London. It felt like robbery when the bill came!
The star of my meal was the burrata (cheese) starter with a delicious, fresh olive oil. Simple but incredibly good!
They have a different seasonal menu each month and I can't wait to see what they have next!
Perfect hidden paradise in the heart of Hoxton. Food was incredible and filling (3 tapas for £11, tough to beat!) and staff were very nice. The tables are far apart and when blessed with sunshine, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect brunch spot. Will definitely be coming back!
Enthusiastic and friendly staff, high quality food, reasonable prices. This restaurant is associated with New City College and we went on the night the service and food was delivered by the students. They were friendly and genuinely concerned that you we were looked after and had the best experience. All the courses were excellent but the pastry section really excelled. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Wow! Just wow! This restaurant has re-opened recently and its well worth a visit. Menu offers something slightly different - with loads of veggie options (👍👍👍). And save some room for the cakes! Student chefs work beside top names from London’s best restaurants. Oh - and beer on tap from Hackney Brewery. What’s not to love?!
