Excellent seafood restaurant on a boat in Regents canal. Limited menu, but everything was fresh! We had the oysters for starters. Cod and Plaice for main. The chocolate dessert was also excellent. Highly recommend the grand duchess!
Warm welcome. Very fresh tasty fish . So yummy and did not want to finish the dinner. Photos can not justify the great taste ofthe dishes! I forgot to take more photos as the small ajd taste soooooo good. Nice evening view from boat restaurant⛵
Beautiful place to visit. The area is a nice place for an evening walk. The Duchess was very clean with friendly staff. I have never had such a delicious fish before!
Went here with friends for a special occasion for a late lunch. We loved it! The atmosphere was great, and the table side view of the canal was cool. The chips were soo good. Very crunchy. But also, great seafood. The staff were very nice and professional. I can’t wait to go back.
Enjoyed both lunch and dinner at the Grand Duchess. The menu was full of fresh seafood and unique combinations that were a delight to the senses. We dined both indoors and on the terrace, such a perfect atmosphere for the summer weather. Dining in a barge truly reminds me of sweet memories I experienced during my travels in Asia. We enjoyed chatting with our Algerian waiter who was very friendly.
As I mentioned when we were departing the restaurant, everything promised on the website was delivered and in fact exceeded our expectations.
We came from Australia to celebrate my sister's 70th birthday and could not have been more thrilled with the evening spent at The Grand Duchess.
Thank you again for a delightful experience.
Beautiful, cosy restaurant on the canal. Was immediately impressed with the attentive service from Hannah who anticipated our every need. The food was gorgeous; perfect portions and the option of curry sauce was an unexpected bonus! Would certainly visit again.
The restaurant is in a boat located at Venice neighbourhood. Inside there are some tables and the open kitchen. The atmosphere is nice and romantic. The service is careful and efficient. We ate some natural oyster and some dressed, both nice. We also tasted some very good fish with potatoes. There is a good choice for good but expensive wines.
I cannot praise the Grand Duchess enough. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. Despite us having a large table the service was excellent. Attentive and friendly. Our guests had never been before and can’t stop raving about it.
Fantastic early evening in sunshine near the canal. Fish was fresh, sauces tasty and all well prepared. Interesting and unusual wine menu. Our waitress Maddie was exceptional - making a special evening even more special.
Absolutely loved this place. All the food was divine but especially the crab on toast - exquisite!! Very friendly staff - the sommelier had time to chat with us. We will definitely come back here.
Nice food, liked sitting outside on a warm sunny day! The fish and chips batter was really light and not too oily and heavy as it can be sometimes. Enjoyed!
Brilliant evening about the grand duchess, not the boat that set sails but delicious sea food in exciting venue. Quite hot during the September sun but would highly recommend!
If you wanna have some fresh fish in a nice location (a river boat in Little Venice) that’s the place! They always have great specials of the day, but you could also go for the “classics”.
P.S. Their selection of wine is great!
Lovely meal on board. We also enjoyed our walk on the cabal getting there. Worth a try.
A wonderful spot for a summer weekend. Great food, excellent music, service is a bit slow at peak times which is understandable.
Enjoyed our oysters and fish, service was good. The wine was high priced for a small glass but is the only negative. Would come again
