A nice cosy pub tucked around the corner from Haggerston Station, which makes it a nice location that's close to transport but away from the busy highstreet and traffic. The staff super friendly and genuinely nice which is hard to find in places that offer hospitality and if it's not to busy you can enjoy a nice conversation with them as well. The food was great, the presentation was on point and tasted great. I had the salt and pepper squid which was well complemented by the aioli sauce, the battered haddock and chips was a beautiful golden brown and crispy (although a touch too salty because of the rock salt sprinkled on top but looked gorgeous), and finally the Eton mess was a perfect balance of sweetness from the meringue, fresh strawberries, and a nice crunch from the pistachios all mixed with the right amount of cream. I would highly recommend this place for the food, the hospitality and atmosphere.

fast becoming one my favourite pubs, i've got a lot of time for the duke of york. aside from just a nice vibe for beers, good outside and inside seating, they've also got some lovely nibbles. this time we went for truffle parmesan fries and mac and cheese croquettes. croquettes are next level.

Probably one of the nicest roasts I’ve had in London. Slow cooked belly of pork was delicious, so soft! The service and friendly staff really made our lunch experience 10/10. Thank you :)

Having been to the beef & brew in Kentish town a few times, Id like to think I knew what to expect when ordering. I went for their trademark tasty hangers steak, with a side of poutine (chunky chips in gravy and cheese). My other half gave their Sunday roast a shot. As expected, the food was of fantastic quality and taste yet so affordable. But what was a pleasant surprise was the service was of equal exceptionally high standards. The team make you feel so welcome, are informative and above friendly and polite. They really are the whole package, a must visit that's ideal for a date night or easily perfect for a group visit. See you again soon.

Was ok a bit hipstery for my liking but the staff are friendly service was excellent Guinness and a soda water and lime was £6 which is a bargain Guinness was excellent we had food beef burger and chips was very tasty bit expensive at £15 but that's getting to be the norm these days. Probably would go again if passing and need a drink.

This is our local pub. We’ve seen several iterations over the last 10 years from the early Beavertown days to the Barworks refit. The pub today is at its best - good beer, good food, good staff. It’s a pleasure to spend time here. What are you waiting for - pop in whilst you are looking for your next ‘well rated google pub’ and you won’t leave.

Excellent pub with a local feel. Food is top notch for pub grub - has a Korean flair - the cauliflower especially but even the burger and chips is great. Quiz night is pretty good too :) staff are nice and it doesnt get too crowded

It's a great, local pub. The staff and customers are really friendly and you can bring your dog's in as well. And if you ask the staff, I'm sure they'll give you some water for your dog(s). The water for the dog(s) are free.

Slight detour off of the canal for a beer and a burger, and really glad I did. Great service and friendly locals, in a smart pub. I'm jealous it isn't my local.

Wandered by last night and heard some great singing! Dunno if that happens all the time though. Good chunky chips too, and big selection on tap.
