I would say the bubble tea in Hao-Ja is the best among all the bubble tea shops in London . I have tried lots of bubble tea in many chain tea shops in London. None of the bubble tea can compare with the one in Hao-ja, which reminds me of home. The bubble is perfectly cooked and soaked with brown sugar. The milk tea tastes exactly the same as the milk tea from the breakfast shops in Taiwan. I also highly recommend the fried popcorn chicken and fried green bean here. Great place to go for a quick lunch or snack.

After visiting Taiwan many times in the last year, I've grown to love Taiwanese food. So, on a recent trip to London I decided to visit Ho-ja. It was fantastic, with many authentic dishes to choose from. The availability of Taiwan Beer and Bubble Tea made an excellent meal even better.

I had a delicious lunch today - freshly cooked and the only issue was it was too hot to eat straight away!

This small place was a great experience to dine in, with friendly staff and economical prices. The chicken katsu and prawn dumplings were amazing along with a Taiwan beer. A must visit for taiwanese food.

How have I not reviewed this place before???

Lovely yummy Taiwanese Food. The chicken popcorn is to die for. We ended up ordering 4 plates of those between 3 of us. 3 of them were ordered, after we had ordered the whole meal & tasted the popcorn chicken!

Light, soothing, yet nourishing soups. We made a meal of the soups, appetisers and specials. They have sauces on the side depending on your heat tolerance. We chose the spiciest version & were very happy with it.

Some of the home made dumplings had thicker skins, but the fried dumplings were thinner skinned. The thicker ones, weren't pasty, they were just slightly thicker than normal. The beef rolls were good too.

There are a couple of Taiwanese drinks, that are quite interesting.

The interiors seem a bit sparse and industrial, but the service is warm & helpful.

I'll stop by anytime for that popcorn chicken.

I've been invited to go shopping for textiles (!!) by a dear friend and after strolling around mountains of colours for hours, we decided to go for the closest, nice place we could find, to calm a raging hunger. We landed in this lovely Taiwanese café and couldn't have been more lucky. Raging from Bento boxes to starters, salads and small mains, the prices are cheap and the flavours great. The teriyaki chicken burger is fantastic, so says my friend, and we both can testify for the delicious prawn spring roll, butterfly prawns, vegetables fried Dumpling. The miso soup was great, expecially on a rainy day, while the fried udon with chicken was a bit bland and the teriyaki salmon saved the day. Most of the customers are Asians and this gives a good idea of the food taste. When I'll land in this part of London again, I made a promise to my friend to be back soon, I'll try more from their menu as it is worth to go back.

Great cheap eats! Ate here before a show at the Apollo and would definitely come back. A main and side each comes to under £20 per head and drinks are cheaper than in nearby pubs. Very casual (cafe is joined to a supermarket) but nice cafe decor and helpful service. Good size portions without being too heavy, food is made to order but arrived quickly.

Service was fast and the atmosphere was very chill I love the deco of the restaurant. The taiwanese style chicken chop tasted authentic. However the steam rice was too dry.

Taiwanese pancake and chicken popcorn taste authentic👍 The beef in noodle soup is a bit dry and chewy. The soup is mild in taste.

Went as I was missing Taiwanese home food. Food wasn’t perfect, more like home cooking, but somehow still good enough and really made me feel like I’m home. I’d definitely come back again. Recommended!

Really authentic Taiwanese food! Was on a search for Taiwanese cuisine for a friend who previously lived in Taiwan and we found this restaurant, and we had a great meal. First of all the price is really affordable, compared to most East Asian restaurants in Greater London. We tried stewed pork with rice and Taiwan sausage, both very authentic. The pork Katsu from the bento was very impressive. The bubble tea was cheap and tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 100% will come back again

Sell groceries from Taiwan and also offer dine-in and take away Taiwanese foods. Some foods are really good but some are average. The weekday set menu is a bargain.

Food was really good! Great selection on the menu which makes me miss Taiwan. A little out of the way to get to, not sure if worth going all the way if not living in the area. Nice vibes inside with a small grocery section.

This smaller restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows at the corner of the first building on the block has a cozy, youthful, authentic vibe. There are Chinese & Asian instant noodles and sauces for sale at the counter in the back where you order and pay before they deliver the food to your table. I highly recommend the beef noodle soup, with optional ribbon noodles, extra portion. The popcorn chicken bento was tasty, but needed some fried Thai basil to be more delicious. My family and I would love to return to try more on the menu.

This was my first time visiting and I’ll definitely come again! The price is reasonable comparing to other Asian restaurants and the food tastes like the one I tried in Taiwan. Most importantly, all the staff members are very kind and helpful. I have stayed at the restaurant for a while and what I noticed is they work actively and as quick as they can to accommodate the customers. Highly recommended! (I only took 1 photo…)

Come here if you want authentic, delicious Taiwanese food for a great price. All the dishes we had were amazing and just like they’d taste in Taiwan! The waitress was very helpful and don’t be afraid to ask for their recommendations! Atmosphere is nice, great place to come with friends or on your own and chill.

Pretty good! I had the mixed braised appetizer, which was perfectly cooked. I don't usually like organs like heart, but they do it really well, and of course the pigs ears was amazing. My child really liked the mixed fish ball soup - the soup was very savory and there was a nice mix of different fish balls. I loved the fried oyster mushrooms - the mushrooms are fried with a delicate, crunchy batter. The vegetarian tofu rice dish was very homey, as was the beef noodle soup. I'm not a fan of soup beef, so I'll probably get another type of noodle soup next time. I thought the duck skin in their crunchy duck bun was really good, but I'm not sure I enjoyed it in a bun. I'd probably get it with another starch next time. Also, the snacks they have are great - so many nostalgia/craving foods. Overall, a wonderful, kid friendly, delicious Taiwanese shop. The food came out fast and the server was friendly.

Ho-ja is a supermarket, deli, restaurant hybrid. Serving delicious Taiwanese food - incl. Crispy fried dumplings (veggie, prawn, duck or chicken), plus bento and ho-ja rolls - highly recommended!
