This restaurant is within a hotel. The ambience is absolutely amazing. Very cooling when I went in there. Brought in with a newborn and baby sleeps pretty much all the time letting us enjoy the food. The food was alright. Enjoyed the garlic mushroom side. The others are just average like grilled chicken burger, the steak or the moules with fries. Great drinking place or catching up with friends if you are around London Victoria area.
Very pleasant bar right next to Victoria station. Visited on a warm bank holiday weekend so it was quiet and was seated at a large, comfy booth. Had to move halfway through our visit as a family with young screaming babies were seated right next to us despite the venue being virtually empty. Not the family’s fault but I don’t understand why guests can’t be spaced out a bit more for privacy and comfort when a restaurant/bar is quiet. Friendly and attentive staff; tasty vegan food and really nice cocktails. Could be cheaper and offer a wider variety of cocktails but overall would recommend and return.
Amazing staff, great food and a wonderful surrounding. Little extras added for my girls birthday without even asking. Couldn’t ask for more. We will be coming back!
We are so glad we found this place! We were wandering around the area looking for something nice and quiet with great food. We found it!
The fish was absolutely amazing. Excellent cut of fillet with really nice buttery sauce.
Yes, it may not have been huge but it tasted great and I'd have it again.
My girlfriend had the steak and ale pie and loved it. I tried a bit of it and found it very tasty as well.
The service was great! I walked in without reservation. Originally the table I got wasn't great. Due to the cancelation of a reservation, the waiter came up to us without us asking and he asked us if we wanted to move to a better table. The table we got was very nice. We appreciated the offer.
I definitely recommend.
A hotel very near to London Victoria Station. An ideal place to stay or just to pop into for a drink before you catch your train. The atmosphere is quiet and calm but the service is excellent. Prices are not too bad, considering it is a good quality hotel. The range of beers and wines are limited but I tried a Stella Unfiltered which was very nice. The staff were attentive and friendly but they do add a service charge because they bring your drink to the table, even though I ordered at the bar.
Great place, delicious food and brilliant service. Would highly recommend! Pics include The Soak Burger and The Plant Burger
The Soak is the restaurant of the beautiful Grade II listed railway hotel, The Clermont Victoria.
Completely refurbished post covid the result is a very elegant and classy espace. The deco is 5*, it feels grand but relaxed at the same time.
High ceilings wonderfully detailed in white, contrast with the rich grey of the walls and columns. Rich blue velvet seats, darker leather, light grey marble tables to the sides and dark wooden in the center with curved seating and beautiful globular lights. All very stylish.
The food is good but not great. I had the posh prawn cocktail, rib eye and black forest brownie. The steak probably the weakest.
The staff are great though and service very attentive.
All in all, a beautiful restaurant with great staff and service. The food is ok but I expected a bit more.
Came here with a friend for their bottomless brunch. The service was good, everyone was very welcoming. They refilled our drinks at a good rate. It was quite empty for a central London restaurant on a Saturday lunch. The food was okay, nothing particularly special. The steak and chips were slightly bizarre - served in a bowl with way too much mustard and ketchup dolloped over it. Not sure I’d go back unless they changed the brunch menu.
I recently visited "The Soak" in London and was thoroughly impressed with my experience.
The coffee was delicious and made to perfection, and the atmosphere was incredibly lovely. The location was perfect and added to the overall enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend "The Soak" to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee in a wonderful setting. Highly recommend!
Food was excellent! Tried many items as a tasting and all were great and presented like art. The only reason we didn't give it a fifth star was the music was a little too techno for the music and the staff was awkwardly standing against the bar looking while we were enjoying a date-night. Otherwise great place!
Very nice place for a spot of lunch or as I observed afternoon tea (will be back to try that in the future)
Though there was a clear staffing issue while we was there the overall experience was a good one and the food was absolutely delicious speed of service from ordering was very impressive and the presentation was to a high standard. Overall I recommend it if you are in the area and want a chilled yet high standard meal.
I liked the calmness and quiet of this place. In the middle of Victoria’s hustle and bustle you get a little oasis of tranquility. Spacious and comfortable seating with very convenient booths for enjoying a cup of coffee while catching up with work on your laptop. A plus is the charging point under the booth table. Coffee is not so good but not bad either. I tried their cauliflower and spinach pie and was not impressed either. But anyway, I am rating this place for it’s comfort and privacy in the middle of a place in Central London where seating is in short supply. My immediate needs were satisfied. Place was covid-proof in terms of health and safety measures. I would visit again although only for a coffee.
Pleasant restaurant in a historic building. Part of the hotel next-door. We had delicious Chinese dishes which were surprisingly good. The air conditioning is designed for the American taste, we asked for it to be turned off.
Very convenient meeting place. Availability of vegan options which are prepared with care. Service usually impeccable.
Popped in for a quick drink before getting trsin home. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.
