The Big Chill on Brick Lane has a really relaxed vibe during the day and then gets more lively at night.
Last time I went in with a group of friends for a spot of brunch and a chat one late Saturday morning. When we arrived the place was quite quiet as it was still early but the bar staff were friendly and helpful.
Myself and my friend ordered the Nachos which were delicious but also quite large (but we weren't complaining) while our other friend ordered a mixture of small plates including sweet potato chips, onion rings and bruschetta. All the food was very nice and the service was really quick. With the food we also had some fruit ciders. In the bar they have a wide selection of beers and different ciders, if you are not sure what to order the bar staff are good for recommendations.
If the weather is nice they also a large seating area outside which is covered in case there is sudden spot of rain while inside they have a mixture of leather sofas and tables for you to relax in.
If you are out and about on Brick Lane and after a chilled bar I would recommend that you pop in.
After going to a clothes wholesale in Spitalfields, my sister and I decided to eat lunch before heading back home to work on our university projects. Whilst the overall lighting created an enjoyable, artsy atmosphere, I did start to get tired when waiting for my Chicken quesadilla; although it was not a big portion, it took a long time for it to be prepared and served; however,considering the fact that it was a crowded, Sunday afternoon, I am sure this does not happen on a regular basis. Overall, once everything was served, I enjoyed my lunch surrounded by the sound of people engaged in friendly conversations and lovely background music.
Stopped in for a few drinks after dinner near by. Staff were friendly and quick to serve. Pretty decent selection of cocktails and varied beer options on tap. DJ was playing some good jams.

An absolutely brilliant venue. The team are super friendly and the beers super cold too. The outside area was buzzing and the quiz inside a lot of fun, lots of space to move about and cope when it's really busy too. I tried the chicken burger which was delicious too. A great location in a car free area. A fun visit and can't thank the team enough.
I came with a friend to have lunch after a shopping day around Brick Lane.
There is a 10GBP lunch offer until 4 pm with a burguer with fries. Delicious!! There's also a vegetarian option, which is equally yummy, according to my friend.
Staff are friendly and polite. Came for my friends birthday and we got complimentary Prosecco and shots! Looking forward to eating shortly…
We had our work Xmas party at the big chill and was really impressed with the service received. Everything was as agreed and more, the team took the time to decorate the venue for us which was a nice surprise and touch. Throughout the night the bar staff and security were very accommodating and the biggest compliment I can give is that all my colleagues were congratulating me for organising a great Xmas party! Thanks again guys and hopefully see you next year!
We were there for a Halloween event. The music was largely ok and the atmosphere good. I had to leave early because the smoke filling the dance area was sustained and overwhelming. Won’t be returning to this venue.
If you're looking to dance to old school hip hop, 90s pop and R&B then this is the place to be. If you're looking for a fun night out on a Friday or Saturday again this is the place to be.
Whenever I've been here this place has not disappointed.
I enjoyed this spot. The drinks are good. The snacks are good and the happy hour drinks are decently priced. Nice vibe too. Although we had a section next to a big speaker, it was a bit too loud for comfort.
But overall, great place!
Spent a lovely afternoon in this venue. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially the charismatic Jermaine. We will definitely be going back.
Nice burgers and nice atmosphere.
This was my second time there, but the first one ordering food. It is usually crowded, but not at Spaniards lunch time (early dinner for Britons). They have some kind of “happy meal package” quite convenient if you want your meal with a refreshing soda or juice (not my case). Even otherwise, it is not too expensive. A good option, among others, in the neighbourhood.
Bar was pretty slow to be served, food was pretty quick to come. Good was very nice but the burger was a tad on the small side.
Found this spot over by Brick Lane Market and was great for lunch. They have a nice terrace, which was great during the good weather. The food was good - a variety burgers and chips. Not table service, you order at the counter and collect.

I was there on Thursday night and Jay was fantastic. A great bartender who was always there to help, quickly and professionally! Will definitely be back.
I got a Karma Kola.
On entering we were told that 'happy hour' was starting soon. The staff is very kind and helpfull. They have quite a few cocktails and other beverages. Lucky for me there are also non alcoholic options. The Karma Kola is pretty good tasting.
The toilets are also very clean.
I do suggest to visit this place when you're in the area.
Excellent Venue with Extremely Polite & Friendly Staff, 2 DJ's playing Hip Hop both Old Skool & Modern but not too loud providing decent communication - A Trendy Bar down a side street.
