They gave us a warm welcome when we entered, we are from belgium and wanted a local beer so they even gave us a taster to decide what beer to take, also background info about the beer. Very pleased with this all, the food whas also very tastefull. I would definatly recommend this pub.
A quality pub that successfully mixes a pub atmosphere at front and a pub with food in the middle and a pub with garden at the back. You can sit or stand in 5 places and feel different emotions. A pub crawl in the same pub. I like lots! A humming bird easily hid from view on latest visit.
Meant to go to the pub next door .. got drinks sat down after 20 min looked at menu then realised it said *Richard 1st* ... turned out really good, sat outside, food great, staff good and everyone there chilled enjoying the evening 👍🏻
I booked an area for a baby shower this weekend. I'd just like to say the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The area was perfect for the occasion and gave us plenty of room to put up our own decorations and cakes. The food was delicious with plenty of variety including vegetarian and gluten free options which was important for our group. I'd definitely recommend this location for a party/event, and to eat and drink at in general. Thank you Richard the First!

Great pub with excellent outdoor dining space. We ate here 3 times this week and were never disappointed. The service and food were excellent. We enjoyed chatting with the locals too. Really great place.
Good example of a traditional pub with pretty good food. Not a wide choice but most tastes are catered. The atmosphere and ambience are excellent and very welcoming. We enjoyed an early Sunday lunch with some fine ale and a bottle or two of well selected wine. If you're in Greenwich it's worth looking this pub up. It's off the beaten track and so not overrun by tourists.
Visited pub for first time since refurbishment and was blown away. Fantastic. Warm welcoming greeting from wonderful host, seated almost straight away and 5* customer service throughout our visit. The food was INCREDIBLE. I had beef roast, cooked to perfection. Some of veg was a bit lukewarm but didn’t matter. We shared a macaroni cheese side dish which was delicious. Partner had fish & chips - huge portion and very tasty. Couldn’t fault our experience and we will definitely be returning as soon as we can!

We’ve been going to this pub since we moved to Greenwich 2 years ago. The place it is very nice. The garden it is cool, and friendly environment. And it has one of the best burgers and roast on my opinion. Their burger is epic
One of my local pubs and I absolutely love it. I took a group of 6 friends plus a baby and everyone finished all of their food with the burgers (meat and plant) and fish and chips being firm favourites. Service is always excellent and the garden seating is really comfy.

One of my favourite pubs around. Not been in for ages but super friendly staff... old boys gossiping, lovely well-priced beer (compared to my local in Cornwall). Food was great and again, well priced for top nosh.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Richard 1st. Jamie and the rest of the team were great from the start and very helpful. All correspondence before the time was smooth and helpful. I ordered platters and they were delicious. The atmosphere at the pub was lovely. A great venue to spend the day/ evening. Thank you!
A lovely family pub with a large heated garden. If you look from the outside it looks small, but the pub itself is very large. The food was very tasty and the portions were very generous.
A lovely relaxed family Sunday lunch, delicious food and FANTASTIC service. A special thank you to Levi, for going the extra mile and making sure our elderly lurcher was comfortable. We will come back!

Sunday lunch was absolutely immense! One of the best I've had in ages, food arrived really quickly and the staff were friendly too. You will probably need to book if you're going on a Sunday though!
Hidden gem in the backstreets of Greenwich, lovely garden with plenty of space for prams and dogs. Really friendly staff and great reasonably priced menu. Will definitely return!
A really lovely pub!! Great for families, groups or couples. The staff were very friendly and they have really nice Sunday roast! I had the trio Sunday roast which was good as I got to taste all the meat options, the beef and chicken were delicious! While the pork was unfortunately very dry and a bit bland. Overall though it was a good meal and nice atmosphere for pub lunch so I'd definitely be back.

Lovely little hide away spot to hang out, drink, and eat. A large group of colleagues, unwinding from an exhausting term at work. We had a good time. We will book tables next time to ensure we are seated with ease and not having to be table hopping.
