We had a lovely experience. They were fully booked and we couldn’t sit outside but they accommodate us inside with a lovely table. They were swamped, only three people were working, but they were working non stop. They had wonderful wine selection and the snails were amazing. The large cheese board came with French bread, three selections of cheeses. We ordered fries for the kids, they were the American fries, not crispy. The service was good, but it was Saturday night and we felt they were short staffed. A bit pricey and the service charge is high. But we liked the experience and would recommend it.
Excellent food, if quite expensive (£75 for 2 mains and a starter to share, not including drinks and other). The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the chef took us through the Plat du Jour and detailed the ingredients of the dishes we were interested in.
We opted for the beef cheek croquettes which were just divine, followed by the monkfish - gloriously meaty, with a delicious herb sauce, buttery chanterelles, and red currants which all paired beautifully. I enjoyed it with a glass of Burgundy premier cru Chablis, followed by a delicately oaky Aligote. My partner had the Duck Magret, which came with roasted cubes of celeriac in a creamy mash.
The baguette with salted butter appetiser comes hot from the oven and worth ordering along with some starters, as our mains took 40 minutes to arrive.
The wine was excellent, perfectly served, and overall we had a very lovely evening at La Ferme. Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious and the service is really good. The prices are a bit higher than average but you get good food and service. Gnocchi were out of this world - so delicious.
