Called in for a quick pint whilst in London, no food though...nice pub, good beer so will call again no doubt!
The pub sells very nice beer and is a very nice place to go for a beer.
We were in London for the England v Scotland game and there were no problems with us taking the kids in. The staff were friendly and very helpful so much so we returned the following day for a rest after a busy day site seeing. Highly recommend this place
Great food and decent size portions of food, highly recommend!
Very good food. Proper pub food. A bit of a long wait but the restaurant was full.
Good food, great service, resonable prices. All in all a nice place fore a family lunch.

Conveniently located near Trafalgar Square, I decided to stop by with some visiting friends for a drink and ended up having a nice Sunday Roast and baked Camembert. The place screams classic pub as you step in and, given that is one of the many Taylor Walker in town, you can rest assured that the prices are convenient and the quality satisfactory even so close to some of the more famous sightseeing in London. Thankfully there weren't too many groups and we have been able to find a table without too much struggle. It's charming interiors and the good food make of this pub a a nice alternative in the area if you are looking for a traditional British meal.
We stopped in here after a long busy day of sightseeing for a beer and some delicious food, and let me tell you... it did not disappoint! It was very busy when we entered, but managed to find a table no problem as they have over 100 tables. The steak and ale pie was absolutely amazing! Our food came out piping hot, and our drinks ice cold. This would definitely be a stop I would make again if we ever come back to London.
Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking through London and stopped in for dinner. The atmosphere was great. We were extremely comfortable and picked a table that worked best for us.
My girlfriend has gluten and diary allergies so it is hard for her to eat out. Emilio went above and beyond to make sure all of her allergen concerns were taken care of including going down to speak to the manager and chef to confirm that her food was prepared properly.
The meal was delicious. I had the fish and chips and got a huge piece of fish and she had steak that was cooked perfectly.
We plan to return to London and would definitely come back to Silver Corss.
Usually make an effort to go here when we're in London. It's an old pub with real history and is constantly busy.
We just had drinks this time but had a look at the menu and were very impressed with the selection on offer. May go back to try some.. Great selection of ales and lagers on offer.
We did go back the next day and we're very lucky to get a table.
We had a sharing platter of Japanese Karaage Sticky Chicken, Cod Goujons and Nidderdale Sausages in a honey and mustard dressing. It was all superb and well worth the return trip. Highly recommended.
"Classic pub" for tourists or at least this is the sensation for me.
It's next to Trafalgar square so it's not bad if you are tired after a tour and you're looking for a place to try fish and chips and have a good 🍺🍻 beer.
Good quality food in my humble opinion of a tourist in these British lands.
Silver Cross was a classic pub! The vibes were great and staff were kind. The fish and chips were decent, tasty and fresh! The pub also has a great selection of beers on tap!!
The bar looked like it needed some repairs with torn out couches. But don't let that deter you. The food is great, and of course the people managing the pub! Would love to come back
Great pub with excellent food. Our complements to our server Ayse and the chef who provided great service. We had Sunday roast…yum!
Best pub in town! Totally recommend it.
First time was so good, the staff were so nice, that we’ve decided to come again.
Delicious food and cold beer - what else do you need?
Thank you!
after walking like 20km a day for the last 5 days including today me & my friends were very tired and out of food. this pub saved us. feeling : refreshed. + never ate better crust on a fish than this before
We only stopped here for drinks but the food the ladies next to us were having looked delicious- fish and chips. Good selection of beers.
Great pub in the heart of the madness. Waiting for friends/family to finish touristy stuff at the gallery? Great place to grab a pint n chill out.
Great atmosphere, such a friendly service! Definitely recommend
We took an all day trip round London and it started to rain, stumbled across the place called Silver Cross and the bar staff was so friendly especially, Keira, Emilio and Mourina were so amazing
Defo worth visiting
Very nice experience! We had the big fish and chips and the mac and cheese with bacon and both were very very good! The service was good and everyone there where was very pleasant. There's plenty of seating and and they bring your food out very quickly. Highly recommended.
Silver Cross is definitely a place I would recommend visiting at least once. The atmosphere is amazing in this fine establishment and the staff is super kind. My bartender for the evening was Emilio and he really stepped up my night with the passion he showed for his craft. I absolutely enjoyed spending the evening there, with how friendly he was. 5/5, would recommend.
We had a great lunch Silver Cross. The fish and chips were awesome and they let me trade the chips for seasons fries. My daughter had the salad with grilled chicken which she enjoyed thoroughly. Not many places near Trafalgar squire to eat that are not Italian. Very happy we found this place
A historic and vibrant pub in the heart of Whitehall, right next to the Trafalgar Square. I’ve been there a couple of times and it seems to be always extremely busy. The food is rather standard for a pub, nothing creative, but nice. Good selection of beers, I’ve ordered IPA and was given a larger, but they quickly changed it, which was nice. The food takes long to arrive, but this could be due to the fact that the place was busy. Overall, a nice oldish pub that used to be a certified public house frequented by members of royalty.
