Food grilled to perfection, smoothest hummus I've ever had and the chocolate fondant was incredible. My favourite place for middle eastern food and shisha in London by far

I agree with Surayya below, we received excellent service from Ahmed he was helpful and looked after us the whole night. The only downside is not having the merguez in the individual mixed grill. I really enjoyed the saffron cheesecake it was an amazing dessert! The live music was great and the decor stunning.

I just want to say a massive thank you to Mamounia Lounge for delivering an exceptional 21st birthday to my party of people. Belly dancers and live music entertainment was beyond my expectations as of the food too! I will highly recommend it to anyone interested in having a memorable Arabian night in the heart of London. Definitely worth a return from me. Many thanks Mamounia!

Just a stone's throw from Harrods in Knightsbridge is Mamounia Lounge, a restaurant serving traditional Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine and a bar with expert mixologists, plus a sister restaurant in the equally flashy, upscale district of Mayfair. We arrived on Friday night amidst a scene of Porsches roaring down Brompton Road and tired looking shoppers with Mulberry and Harvey Nichols shopping bags dangling from their arms. Having just finished a day's work (and a week chock full of socializing), all I really wanted to do was collapse in a puddle: Mamounia Lounge seemed just the place to do it.

Mamounia Lounge is made for socializing: from the fragrant wafts of shisha that welcome you at the entrance (the restaurant's outdoor terrace is perfect for enjoying shisha pre- or post-meal), to the main restaurant which leads to the bar and lounge area, it's opulent in decor and perfect for settling your tired self into after an exhausting day of shopping Knightsbridge. I totally get it.

It's the type of place you'd want to arrive at with a gaggle of girlfriends, recapping your new purchases and laughing the night away with a cocktail in hand. It's fun, and the staff are there to ensure you're enjoying yourself - without interfering too much, making recommendations when prompted and leaving you alone to chat when you're deep into a debate about Season 4 of Game of Thrones.

As we sipped our summery cocktails and perused the menu, I started to get all boring again by suggesting we order tabouleh and hummus to start (I always order tabouleh and hummus) before John said, "Why don't we try something different and try the pastilla of chicken instead?"

I'm so glad that he did, because that little parcel of filo pastry baked with shredded saffron chicken, almonds, and a dusting of icing sugar, glazed with an orange reduction, was magical.

I haven't had an 'OMG!' moment in a restaurant for a while, but this pastilla of chicken definitely warranted that reaction. The crispy outer shell of the filo pastry gave way to a beautifully nutty flavor within - a bit like a mini Moroccan chicken pot pie. I'm a huge fan of sweet and savoury though, so it's no surprise that I liked this dish so much.

We also ordered a side of hummus and pita, just to line our stomachs, and I have to say - no matter what, hummus and pita from a restaurant will always taste 100 times better than the bland hummus and dry pita you buy in store (or even make at home). Somehow, this hummus was creamy smooth and the pita, little fluffy clouds of warm bread (not to mention - the presentation was pretty impressive). Heaven.

By the time I made it back to our table, our main courses had arrived and I was really looking forward to my lamb tagine - again, something you can make yourself at home but it never tastes as good as it should.

Case in point: the cous cous was light and perfectly cooked (mine's always either over or under cooked, yikes!) and the lamb, tender and gently falling apart in the tagine. I loved the delicate flavors of the broth that was served alongside my dish, which enhanced the hearty, warming taste of the tagine, rather than detracted. No evidence of tinned veg or tomatoes here - everything was fresh and cooked with precision and care.

John's mixed grill (why do guys ALWAYS order a mixed grill?) was equally delicious and a great contrast to my tagine: the spiced meats were smoky and perfectly grilled (the lamb medallions were my personal favorite!). ...

Located opposite Harrod’s on Brompton Road, Mamounia Lounge Knightsbridge promises Middle Eastern culinary delights, inspired cocktails, an outdoor shisha lounge and entertainment too. Mamounia has an Arabic themed décor reflected in the patterns and mosaics. This is paired with a baroque style best demonstrated by the enormous chandeliers and red velvet drape spread across the restaurant space. This makes an interesting contrast as Mamounia isn't trying to recreate a Moroccan styled restaurant, instead it is aiming for an eclectic mix. Despite the decadent décor, there is a relaxed atmosphere to the restaurant, and as a results would be an ideal place for laid back group dining weather for lunch or dinner.

One of the best place to have sheesha - very smooth and perfect. Had grape mint Sheesha. Outdoor seating was the best. Drinks are good too. Good place to chill after dinner. Sheeshas are quite expensive but then you pay for the quality. ;)

Mamounia Lounge Mayfair is just round the corner from Shepherd Market on Curzon Street itself. It’s the kind of place I’d be tempted to walk past unless I knew what was inside; a shame, because it’s really worth a visit.  The restaurant has recently been refurbished and is now opulent, rich with mosaics, silver leaf ceilings and stunning chandeliers.  Upstairs, there’s a relatively small and intimate dining area and bar, while the downstairs room provides ample space for groups and family parties.  Both restaurants are lively though, with music and exotic lighting designed to recreate the buzz of the souk.  There’s a shisha lounge just in front of the restaurant too, if that’s your thing, although it is VERY popular so you might need to wait for a table.

One of the challenges of eating in London is that with so many restaurants sometimes finding an authentic one that serves traditional food can be difficult. Mamounia Lounge in Mayfair offers guests an Arabic experience featuring the very best of Lebanese and Moroccan cuisines.

We start our meal with two cocktails.  I opt for the Mamounia Special, fresh basil, Stoli vanilla vodka, lime juice, sugar syrup, served over crushed ice (£8).  My companion loves rum so opts for the Prince of Sahara, fresh pineapple and banana shaken with Flor de Cana, Amaretto and served over crushed ice (£8.50).

Moroccan Delights. Mamounia Lounge Mayfair is a special restaurant full of delicious authentic Moroccan delights. Situated in the heart of Mayfair, a quintessentially British area of London, Mamounia Lounge manages to transport their diners to the heart of Morocco whilst still obtaining the qualm of sophistication and glamour that you would expect for its location.

Whilst the atmosphere and impeccable service are definitely talking points it was the food that was the real showstopper. We started our meal with a Moroccan sausage platter and also an order of falafel. Both were mouth wateringly good! The portion sizes are more then generous and the food tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. In terms of mains we had one chicken tagine and one-grilled spicy prawns. The chicken tangine was something to talk about! Succulent, lemony and oozing with flavour this was a killer dish that I could eat every day! The prawns were amazing too, these were giant king prawns bursting with flavour and easy to take out of the shell.

We finished our meal with a sharing fruit platter, which was once again an extremely generous portion, and after being greedy in our first two courses we found it hard to finish! We digested our food with a pot of Moroccan mint tea which was served in a gorgeous tea pot and was the perfect way to end this authentically one of a kind Moroccan feast.

I was very impressed by this meal and would highly recommend Mamounia Lounge Mayfair; there is also a branch in Knightsbridge, which I need to check out next! Both restaurants also offer shisha outside, which we were tempted by, but the rain put us off.

London’s Mayfair is practically synonymous with fine-dining, you can barely move for danger of falling over the discreet entrance of high-end establishments like Angela Hartnett’s Murano, Nobu, Marani etc with a few wealthy embassies thrown in for good measure.  So when asked to review Mamounia Lounge, nestled smack in the middle of Mayfair, it was a no-brainer of a decision to hobnob with the glamorous elite. The vibe in Mamounia Lounge is quite different to the more classic high-end restaurants in Mayfair, the international set already in place here appear to be fuelling up before a big night ahead, perhaps at the Shisha tables set out in front or drinking cocktails at the opulent bar. The décor is set at smouldering Arabian nights; it’s all dark woods, copper decorations and deep reds and purples, lighting set to very dim, just enough to make out groups of friends and some very beautiful looking cocktails. The food is Moroccan and Lebanese – set out in a bewilderingly long menu that

I've eaten in so many restaurants now, I've had to stop counting. The most scary part of it all is - just not wanting to know how many. How many calories I've put away, how much money I've spent and how many bottles of wine I've consumed. We're living in strange times and one which we've all become over indulging vultures. Food surrounds us these days and we're all cooking less often, and eating out more. Lebanese food is one of though cuisines i really do forget when thinking of my next dining choice, but never again. Honest prices, huge portions and packing bags of foreign flavours - it's immensely satisfying. Moutabel, is perhaps one of those immensely satisfying things to eat. It's such a rich, fresh dish that oozes flavour and for every piece of grilled and butter laden flat bread that goes into it, you just can't stop coming back for more. Smoky aubergine, smooth tahini, garlic and a good helping of olive oil and pomegranate  - what's not to like about this middle eastern classic

Wonderful Middle Eastern food that I will be dreaming about for a long while.

The restaurant has an authentic interior, the year long refurbishment has been well worth the wait.

The serving of the food in the restaurant is banquet style with guest being able to pick Mezze dishes to share.

The truffle Hommus, creamy pureed chickpeas whipped with tahini, truffle oil and lemon juice is absolutely delicious. Served with fresh truffles, wild mushrooms, crispy chickpeas and warm homemade Pita Bread (£11.00).

Both the presentation and taste of the truffle oil was amazing

Mains are consistent with the Middle Eastern fare, tagines, clay pots, grilled and charcoaled meats, fish and couscous.

Meshoui, traditional shoulder of lamb, slowly roasted for eight hours, marinated in Moroccan spices and served with fresh Dates, Orange and apricots Bouillon (£15.00).

If you are looking for an authentic Middle Eastern meal this is your place the great service, food and ambience this restaurant is wonderful.

I had a fantastic experience at the Mamounia restaurant. The food is very tasty. I loved all the dishes I ordered. The quantity was worth the money. Though, I discovered later on that the rates are quite high for the mains and the starters. I used coupons so that didn't cost me that much.

Went here with a colleague to celebrate his promotion, he loves shisha and this must be one of the best.
Had dinner on the ground floor, bit tight.
Service was very prompt.
Had mixed cold mezze followed by lamb tagine, very succulent but could have done with some accompanying veg , bit too meaty.
Then went outside to smoke shisha - double mint and apple, very tasty. Had to wait quite a long time as it's so popular outside.
We were also shown an amazing room downstairs, very stylishly designed and looks great for a bigger group.

Located in the heart of one of the most luxurious areas in London-Mayfair, Mamounia Lounge is famous for its great Lebanese and Moroccan cuisines.

For its location and quality its fairly cheap-you can spend around £30 for two plus drinks.  For the fans of shisha, there is an outdoor seating where you can smoke. I have tried a few of the dishes there, but my favourite would be the falafel and pitta bread with humus.

The place is also famous for its great Moroccan tea which is my favourite one.

The service is quite pleasant as all of the people there are quite welcoming and helpful.

Mamounia is the best place for shisha outside or for drinks and late dinner.
I prefer the mamounia near Green Park Tube station but the venue on Knightsbridge is nice as well.
The restaurant has a magnificent Lebanese food and I can recommend to try the Kafta Tgine.
The hummus kalama is delicious - basically fresh chickpea pure with grilled lambe bis and pine nuts. the bastila is a filo pastry parcel filled with slightly sweet mix of chicken, pine nuts, onion. The moroccan salad is a fresh mixture and very refreshing.
The service is great as well.
Me and my friends had such a lovely time in this place, and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food, and would really recommend it.

The food is Moroccan and Lebanese – set out in a bewilderingly long menu that takes us a while to navigate – I’m very taken by the long list of mezze dishes, but my friend is equally taken with the thought of a slow cooked rich meaty Tagine, to complement the smooth red that is disappearing at an alarming rate on a Tuesday evening.

In the end, we opt for it all! We kick off with a selection of mezze - smoky, mouth-watering Moutabel, fresh and light Mango salad, crispy shelled Falafel and nutty garlicky Mohammara, all mopped up with a side of bread. It’s very easy to tell which are our favourites are – these are the ones we keep spooning more helpings on our plate, while still halfway through a mouthful. The Moutabel is silky and smooth and at one point I actually stop eating bread and just start scooping it up with a spoon. The Mango salad is fresh and delicate and I’m actually disappointed when we don’t manage to finish it. The Mohammara is a new dish for me and it’s a little too rich for a starter but it’s so garlicky and spicy that I wish I had an ice cold glass of sauvignon blanc to wash it all down with. The Falafels are the only item that doesn’t dance off the plate – they’re perfectly acceptable but just don’t have the wow factor of the other dishes.

We linger over the mezze for so long, continually nibbling at elements that we’re almost quite reluctant to have them take away what we couldn’t manage, but when my grilled tiger prawns arrive on the table, I’m quite glad they did! These are meaty and juicy and with a hint of garlic, they’re just the right portion size considering how much we’ve already put away. The lamb tagine is rich and tender, a little too rich for me, but its being enthusiastically forked up my friend along with a side of buttery couscous so there’s no complaints there.

Although you wouldn’t think we could possibly fit any more in, I’m swayed by the waiter’s description of the chocolate fondant as he comes over to try and persuade us to have dessert – I’m so easily talked into things that I'm soon talked into not only the chocolate fondant but a platter of fresh berries to complement the chocolate and contribute to my five-a-day. The berries are a little too cold and should have been taken out of the fridge a little early but the chocolate fondant lived up to the hype – and with me, praise can go no higher.

As we head out the door with the clock inching towards 11, the staff are surprised to see that we’re not staying on for music & dancing, but this is Tuesday night and already well past my bedtime. Will I come back? Yes, but I’ll bring a group of friends, get ordering those cocktails and party Mayfair style till dawn.

Smoky aubergine, smooth tahini, garlic and a good helping of olive oil and pomegranate - what's not to like about this middle eastern classic.

Grilled halloumi is one of those dishes that can leave a scarring weight upon the hips in all its grilled, buttery simplicity - but depending on how it's cooked, it can be easily overdone to the point of comparing it to a cross between playdough and an elastic band. Mamounia Lounge thankfully know how to cook it to pure perfection. It was salty, buttery, slightly charred and coated in a good lashing of herby olive oil. By halloumi standards, it doesn't get much better than this.

I've done this dish absolutely no justice in the slightest. It's really dark downstairs in the restaurant and we all know the flash on a mobile phone can make even the most delicious of dishes look hideous and boring. And that's exactly what my camera did here, but it couldn't be further from the truth. A extremely large plate of what was called sojuk sadah. Homemade Syrian lamb sausages made with cumin, sumac, garlic, peppers and paprika. They were gorgeous and very well cooked - and there was so much of it. For £7.00 this really was a bit of a bargain and shouldn't be sniffed at.

Prawns were cooked over a charcoal grill and came splurging out of their sliced open shells - and let me tell you, they were lovely. Juicy, very meaty and not at all overcooked. An overcooked prawn is an absolute tragedy and so when these beautifully paprika seasoned examples arrived, i couldn't have been happier. Portion sizes were still on the ridiculously big side. At this point in the meal we were seriously struggling - and i have an insatiable appetite compared to most.

A side of deep fried cauliflower sounded like a good idea, but in fact it was a tragedy. Limp, soft, soggy and barely crisp. This needed to be cooked with either a coating of delicious batter, or the oil needed to be a zillion degrees hotter, the cauliflower drained and barely pre-cooked before going into the oil. A nice idea, but one which quickly needed to be rectified, or taken off the menu. Talking of menus, it's absolutely huge. I don't know how they cope, or even how much food wastage must be going on in the kitchen but a smaller, more concise menu would be much more attractive and with its mammoth array - could easily put people off. Too much choice can sometimes make a restaurant seem a a little cheap.

The main course, which my flash again did it no justice. Was a delicious plate of grilled goodness. Moist skewers of succulent herb infused chicken, medium-rare cooked morsels of gorgeous lamb and some very well seasoned kafta. This was an excellent mixed grill, which for all this meat at only £18 - it really was a bit of a bargain. You could easily order this and need nothing else, there really was that much of it. A little heavy on the paprika, but otherwise a fantastic dish.

Chocolate fondant for dessert was a nice ending. Extremely chocolatey, cooked fresh to order and getting anywhere near it with a fork seemed to set this thing to explosion mode with lusciously thick, oozing chocolate sauce coming out of it, it was very good. In fact most things here at Mamounia Lounge were surprisingly good. I don't know why, but i came here with doubts. It could have been the lavish decor, Lamborghini cars parked outside or the men dressed in shiny suits - either way i was proved wrong. The food here isn't going to break boundaries, hell it may even confuse you but if you settle in, enjoy a little belly dancing and love a good cocktail - you'll have a great night, and leave full from delicious food, and hopefully a little drunk.

Overall experience was great. Held a birthday celebration for a 40th in Mamounia Lounge personal Fucntion room. All my requests leading up to the event were supported and catered for with no issues. Gabriela was amazing with communication amd made sure enough staff was available to support the total booking numbers allowing service to be second to none. I thing I will highlight is that the kitchen staff need to be clear of instruction before taking taking actions. I informed that the birthday cake will only be presented and not cut. As a result of this Gabriela gave clear instruction and to keep the cake box, bit they threw it away.😔 Just 2mins of clear listening or re-checking the request could have prevented 15mins running around time trying to allocate a new box to put a whole cake into. However, staff are very polite and very accommodating. Thank-you Mamounia Lounge for making my uncle's birthday celebration a memorable one. 😊

Perfect food, drinks and sisha After attending a birthday party the day before, we decided we wanted to continue having a fun time in London to make the most of the weekend. A friend suggested we visit the Mamounia Lounge as a venue in Mayfair. Upon arrival we were given a table and our hostess was Gabriela. We ordered wine and an apéritif to go along with our sisha; this was our first time!! Gabriela who was excellent in her customer service, explained how to consume the sisha and suggested an amazing range of food items from their menu. She was perfect in explaining to us the different range of food items and this made it so much easier. To be honest, Gabriela was a godsend. After a little deliberation and with her assistance we ordered the following items: Moutabel, smoked aubergine puree with tahini, pomegranate, olive oil and spices Spicy Merguez sausages Cheese Briouat, Goat’s cheese pastries Lamb Tagine, sweet slow cooked lamb shoulder served ins a sweet sauce topped with prunes, pears, sultantas and almond shavings Baklava We were overjoyed with the presentation of the food and the service provided. Gabriela made our meal and experience so much more enjoyable with her professionalism and her knowledge of the Middle Eastern food and culture. She is a credit to the establishment and guided our evening perfectly. I would definitely return and would recommend it to visitors to Mayfair. Whatever you decide to do, ask for Gabriela !!!

An excellent Lebanese bar and restaurant wonderful atmosphere and service. Life music and belly dancing. Good value for money and off street parking available after 7 pm. We started of with a mezze followed by the main coarse of either chicken or kebabs. This was then finished off with baklava. On the whole an enjoyable evening.

Our waitress was so friendly she told us everything that we were eating & we had a nice little chat. The food was filling! The meze platter filled me by the time i got to my Mains i had to take half away. But i did eat the dessert small baklava. It made me fall in love with baklava as I've only eaten dry terrible ones but this was so moist & sweet I wish I bought more.

We visited the Mamounia lounge in Mayfair to celebrate a birthday. As expected the area was really nice and this was backed up by the Mercedes and Porsche parked outside. There was an external shisha area with the restaurant inside. The restaurant had a good vibe and we were greeted with a warm welcome even having got there twenty minutes late. We ordered the special mixed meze board which was excellent. All the different meze was good. Then we had four Lamb Tagines one Lamb chops, Marakesh salad and Mamounia fries. Although the menu describes the Tagines as sweet what we received was very sweet and this somewhat let the dish down. We have tried this dish elsewhere and this was definitely too sweet. However the Lamb chops were really nice and well cooked. The Fries unfortunately had a bit too much chilli for me which I wasn't expecting however the Fattouch salad was fresh and the toasted Lebanese bread gave it a nice crunchy texture. We ended the meal with Baklava and chocolate fondant deserts which were nice and served by several members of staff with a rendition of happy birthday in what I assume was Lebanese. This was a nice touch.

The waiter was a lovely guy but everything seemed slow and we had to ask for a couple of things more than once, drinks took ages to come but were lovely and the food was good too but the mains came before our starter. Everything just felt a little slow but the staff were polite. It's expensive for what it is but I guess that comes down to location too. We didn't get desert, just had 1 starter, a platter for 2 and 3 cocktails and 1 lemonade and it was around £145
