The food was delicious ..the assam laksa highly recommended. Nasi lemak was yum too...the service was excellent..really friendly and helpful staff. Definately go there again.
The Assam Laksa was excellent- authentic Malaysian recipe, good portion size and delicious. I loved the keropok leko as a starter too. I'll definitely be back for more👍
Amazing satay, chicken curry and roti canai! Most importantly it's located only 2 mins from camden town station. The price is also cheaper than that of satay house.
Excellent service, beautifully presented menu!! Will definitely come again!!!!
Asam Laksa Gado Gado chicken satay
Ayam goreng (Nasi Lemak Ikan Asam)
Roti canai Curry chicken Roti Tisu..
all food is Delicious..
I'II definitely be back
Authentic Malaysian food that's sure to satisfy your cravings... delicious! Stand outs were assam laksa and ayam goreng and they even have sambal belachan :)

Delicious, great service, reasonable price! Yum Yum roti canai!
I have had 3 meals there now. Fabulous food and staff!
Probably the most authentic Malaysian food you can get in London!
Best Asia food I ever got outside asia
Wonderful authentic Malaysian food...
Love this place - I’m Singaporean and it’s one of the few places I can go in all of Europe to have a taste of home. Roti is good, Ayam goreng also great, and my favourite is always the assam laksa which is exactly the flavour bomb it should be and never disappoints!
At my most recent visit to Mamak Don I ate in at peak dinner time, the restaurant was packed and we were lucky to get in! The menu has a very large selection of dishes with pictures for many, and lots of options for starters. We ended up getting fried calamari rings and spring rolls which tasted great. The mains were Beef rendang with rice and Mee goreng chicken fried noodles both of which tasted great and were spicy. The waiters were friendly and busy and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and drinks were good - especially the lichee cooler! I would defiantly recommend this a s a great Malaysian restaurant in the heart of Camden, which has tasty food and is accessible.
All 10 of us in the group Enjoyed the various Nasi Lemak. I like the Salmon Asam Pedas and the chilly paste. Very Tasty. But no one likes the Gado Gado. The staff was friendly. As it was Merdeka day 50% Discount, the restaurant was very busy. The £1.50 for a hot glass of water plus SC was a turn off.
The appetiser (first picture) was very nice, other dishes were pretty good too - would like to visit again! All staffs are super friendly too!
Mamak Don is a delightful culinary haven for fans of Malaysian cuisine. Their extensive menu is a testament to their commitment to authenticity. As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice a significant number of Malaysian diners, which is often a reliable indicator of the food's quality.
The restaurant, while not overly spacious, offers a comfortable dining experience with ample seating. Keep in mind that it can get quite busy in the evenings, so making a reservation might be a good idea.
One of the standout aspects of Mamak Don is the helpful staff. Navigating the extensive menu can be a bit overwhelming, but the attentive and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to guide you through the options.
The food is where Mamak Don truly shines. Each dish is a burst of authentic Malaysian flavors that will transport your taste buds to the streets of Malaysia. Whether you're a fan of rich curries, aromatic rice dishes, or flavorful noodles, there's something to satisfy every palate.
One pleasant surprise is the pricing. Despite the quality and authenticity of the food, the prices are surprisingly reasonable, falling within the mid-tier range. This makes dining at Mamak Don not only a delicious but also a budget-friendly experience.
In summary, Mamak Don is a hidden gem for lovers of Malaysian cuisine. With its authentic flavors, helpful staff, and reasonable prices, it's a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the diverse and delicious world of Malaysian food.
Really great food, good selection of beer and super friendly service. Our first time trying some of these Malaysian dishes and we were thoroughly satisfied, will definitely be returning!
Very nice food, we shared a beef curry, some pad Thai chicken with a side of water spinach with prawn paste (the side was a bit too fishy for our taste), and we shared some baos (filled with mackerels... a bit disappointed but still tasty) and some fried chicken as starter. For dessert I had the roti tisu which is quite impressive but not over filling like i feared, it is just inconvenient to eat 😅. My friend had the banana fritters. Really good food and agreable service. I highly recommend.
Tasty halal Malaysian food in Camden. We ordered Hainanese chicken rice and char kwey teow.
Lovely Asian fusion place in Camden. I’d go there mainly for Malaysian. The roti was very tasty and the laksa soup was creamy. However, waiting time for food and for the bills was long.
Lived in Malaysia few years, and just as I expected, you can feel the love for food coming from the kitchen. And the staff genuinely looked like they wanted us to have a great time there. So we did.
Authentic Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng with an amazing atmosphere. the whole place is surrounded with wood and the vibe is relaxing. I'm looking forward to trying the Assam Ikan, Rendang, Roti, Hainan Chicken Rice. The servers were kind and attentive. Will go again!
Cantonese Hor Fun is very nice & Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff and liked the fact that the waitress we had gave us some suggestions of the dishes she enjoys. Food was amazing and big portions so good value for money, will definitely return next time im in london. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is that we felt a bit rushed as we asked if we could wait for our mains and got asked by 3 different servers if we were ready yet when we had just said we wanted to wait a little bit.
My first visit, had lunch with my daughter. Food was well prepared and tasted authentic. The waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable. But the owners older sister was very unwelcoming . Created a bad atmosphere. It was not busy as it was nearing closing time. Only two other customers. Yet this lady did not acknowledge our presence. I am shocked as most Malaysian are friendly.
Charming cozy eastern interior, good fast service, and delicious food. I ordered a starter plate, a drink, and a noodle dish for lunch, which was well prepared with fresh ingredients. Prices are fair for central London and meal size.
Decent food, friendly service. Highly recommend their nasi lemak with sambal prawn
