I go to this place every Saturday morning. It has the greatest fry up in the history of the world. The greatest bloody mary in the history of the world and the greatest staff.
If you go anywhere else you are insane.

This is my favourite place to go. The food is delicious & so reasonably priced, I don’t feel guilty popping in as many times as I do. Their brunch items are so so good (the Power House 🤤), but I have been in love with the chicken wrap with extra halloumi for ages now. Can’t go wrong with it. Tell them Eric sent you & they’ll probably be like, “Who the hell js Eric?!” So maybe don’t do that. But you should definitely go.

Good breakfast / brunch location. Great choice of vegetarian options on the menu. Good amount of food on the plate and at a reasonable price. Would like to go back to try more. Only negative point is cash only, cash machine nearby.

Incredible burgers. Solid English breakfasts and cocktails to cure all kinds of hangover. Wish I lived closer - would be in here every Sunday. Bravo 👏

Oh my goodness, what a treat for a Saturday breakfast eating out! This is one of the Power House's (the grocer's apostrophe is no doubt ironic and post-modern) – avocado on generous slabs of toasted sourdough, topped with a big grilled mushroom and tomatoes, streaky bacon and fried egg and adorned with with chili flakes. It's good. Best latte I've had for a while too. The Chinwag is independent, good value and fun: what more could you want?

Cool little Cafe by the New Cross Lewisham way. Cozy feeling when inside. Food was great and halal chicken and beef was served. Presentation of food was excellent. Definitely would visit again to try more dishes. This is a Cash only place.

Always wanted to come to ChinWag after hearing so many good things. The food, decor and service was great. When ordering a full English, they didn’t hold back and the plate was full! The best thing about it is that is it family run and you can see it when the server is interacting with customers and with the quality of food. Also you can buy the paintings on the wall. Very good place for breakfasts and brunch and they serve alcohol. Keep going ChinWag and let’s all support local businesses.

There aren't many places like this left in gentrified London, please patronise even if just for a coffee! They have a fantastic #vegan menu (will list below) and delicious smoothies. Really lovely owner-run cafe with hand-made art and décor (ask them about it). This is a charming place with wood furniture and a whole lot of heart. The staff are friendly and are a great chat, while the food is delicious too. Dishes are well thought out and balanced, no being short-changed here. *Check out their loo ;) #Vegan Glory (breakfast): 2 veggie sausages(?), bubble & squeak, roasted cherry tomatoes, flat mushroom, spinach, baked beans and sourdough bread. #Vegan salad: Hummous, bulgar wheat and chickpeas, sundried tomatoes, pickled slaw, avocado and onion, mixed leaves, oil and balsamic reduction dressing. #Vegan Power: Smashed avocado, coriander and lime on sourdough toast, mushrooms and seasoned tomatoes, cumin and garlic sautéed spinach and chickpeas with chilli flakes. #Glutenfree options available #Soyamilk available

Pleasant fare, huge portions and an excellent Bloody Mary. Burger could stand to be a little pinker in the middle, though I know not all places like to adhere to this given the potential risk. Staff were lovely & very accommodating.

Damn but this is good! The reviewer before me praised the powerhouse and I’m happy to second the opinion that it’s bloody good. My cardiologist would say “run away!” but he’s a joyless miserable character, so to hell with him. Enjoy the perfect bacon, the tomato, avocado, egg and slight garlic and chilli on sourdough with a great coffee. It might take an epidemiological 5 minutes off my life, but hey, life’s too short to worry about that! ...well 5 minutes shorter now.
