A surprisingly good pub for eating in  Moorgate, in addition to its role as a must-go-to oasis after work - Of note were the Nicholson's egg choices for sustenance which were delicious

The Globe is a 'pop in for a pint after work' kind of place. Therefore it gets incredibly busy, especially on a Friday night. On these joyous occasions tens of people spill out on to area in front of the pub and there is a chilled, happy and relaxed atmosphere. However it does take a while to get served at the bar.
I have never eaten there, but I thought the menu was unnecessarily expensive, and I'm sure you could find somewhere as nice for less. Nice place for a post-work pint though.

This is all what a visitor like me would expect from traditional London pub. Going to London so far only for business I got a chance to see some of those (and not a lot more ;-)): they are pretty much the same, yet this does not mean there is anything missing in this particular one. Great and friendly staff, decent selection of ales and lagers, good pub food. The place is noisy and busy, but the climate really compensate for this, it is actually the part of the experience. No wonder my colleagues from London branch call it their second home! Been there several times on numerous visits, surely will come back if the work or leisure drop me to London again.

Good for a spot of lunch. Good pies with proper pastry all around. Not the usual puff pastry topped pie. Decent pint of Doombar. Air conditioning was spot on. Updating to 5 stars as one of the bar staff pulled me a pint of Pride. It had about an inch of head but she put it to one side while she poured a lager for my mate. Then she topped up my pride. I would have been happy with the original pint but this is the kind of service that needs recognising. A great place. Friday was busier than usual. Update - If you like your ales I can recommend the Plum Porter.

Busy at liquid lunchtime, went upstairs where there’s plenty of room. Very friendly and professional staff, took good care of us. Nice pints of Adnam’s Mosaic and Ghost Ship. Double Pattie Globe Burger was executed well, partner enjoyed a burger with no bun. Nice experience in London.

A traditional London local in a building that looks like it dates from the 1960s, with amazingly cheap drinks (my benchmark is a pint of beer and a medium glass of house wine. It was about £7.50 here at a time when you usually have to pay more than £10). Lots of tables outside the front that are good for people watching.

Great experience and atmosphere. Matt Walsh was very attentive and helped me find a perfect drink among the extensive Gin selection they provide. He recommended a grapefruit gin that was delicious! I will for sure be coming back there. Lovely experience.

The Globe is a good pub to visit and has four different bars to choose from. It gets busy when people finish work on weekdays and they do play music which I think is unnecessary as it makes it hard to hear your friends speak. At the weekends it is much quieter and no annoying music. The food they serve is good and they sell a wide range of beers and wines. There are tables outside with stools to sit on when the weather is good, although you do have to drink from plastic glasses if you are outside. However, they are not the cheap squashy plastic glasses but good quality ones and the plastic glasses for wine are in the shape of a wine glass.

Always a good time when you visit the globe. Great atmosphere, food is great (I've nearly tried everything on the menu). It can get quite crowded, so if that's not your thing but they have a beautiful outside area which has a lovely view of the surroundings.

Booked a table in the afternoon after watching a show at the Barbican centre. Unfortunately it was during a England match so the pub was packed, fortunately though I'm a big rugby fan so didn't really bother us to much. Lovely building and a decent pub too. Nice pint of Peroni and fairly good food. Staff amazing! Professional, polite and friendly. Only reason I didn't give 5 * was that our nachos with pulled beef topping was stone cold and my partners ham, egg & chips was only luke warm. The rest was OK.

I have been going to this pub on and off for many years depending on where I was working in The City. I think its improved quite a lot over the years, ironically especially since lockdown ended. Its super popular, particularly in summer so can be v busy, especially outside. I like the buzz this creates though, feels like a proper City boozer with City types and others. Have eaten a couple of times and been quite pleased tbh. Good level of bar staff but it can be 3 deep at peak times, so expect a wait occasionally. For me its the best pub in the area and close to Moorgate tube.

I just popped in for a quick glass of wine. I've not been in the Moorgate area for a long time. It's amazing to visit an old style pub nestled between very modern skyscrapers and the remaining parts of the Roman Wall. It's a classic pub, with food and booze. It looks very popular.

We held a charity Quiz in the function room upstairs and everyone had a great night, lots of positive feedback from the teams about what a lovely pub it is. Matt had been brilliant with the planning and set up of the event and the bar staff were amazing on the night. Couldn't fault anything. Good food, good drink and good atmosphere what more could you ask for. Would definitely recommend.

A very chill in a great location to have a cold one at the end of a long day. Very well located in the City with enough space, even on busy days, to enjoy the weather. Served quite quickly so that is a good thing to note!

Excellent location to stand outside in the evening sun with a pint after work. Everyone in the area knows this, so it gets rammed often - the staff are very efficient, however, and you typically don't have to wait too long for a pint.

Have been here a few times, either with colleagues from work or the odd occasional drink with my daughter. Service is always good but standing on the hedge enclosed grass area outside is lovely on any warm summer evening. There are two bars linked to this pub so plenty of opportunities to be served.

We booked an area for office drinks, and were accommodated in the upstairs back bar. In addition to drinks we had some sharing items from the menu. Friendly, helpful staff, who looked after us very well despite the pub being very busy. Beer was very well kept and the food was superb.

Very good Nicholson's pub on Moorgate in the City of London. Eight cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited including a porter. Very busy in the early evening but not a long delay in getting served. Lots of standing room outside but a requirement to use plastic glasses. To the right of the main pub is the Keats bar with a separate entrance and serving area. There is also a drinking and eating area upstairs.
