It was just the perfect place for those three days in London, thank you so much!

Amazing vibe & great pop-up kitchen!! My favorite local.
Lovely atmosphere, great service, amazing food. What more can anyone ask for?
Our new favourite Sunday hang out in the Sunshine
Fantastic beers service and atmosphere, excited for the pop-up food to begin next weekend!!
Fantastic and unusual wine selection, great food, and fresh beer. Highlights include South African white wines and the cheese plate with cashews and pistachios. New post-COVID ownership by two very friendly and well-travelled South Africans. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
Obviously the building has been a pub forever, but it must have been gutted and refurbished in recent years to produce the modern interior. The barman was very friendly and efficient and they have a good selection of beers. It's clearly popular with locals. They specialise in pizzas, which are available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening and Saturday lunchtime.
We decided to pop along to The Cuckoo for our first post lockdown outing & were lucky to get a table.
The new South African landlords were lovely & there is a South African themed menu which I look forward to trying at some point.
Can't wait to see you all again :D
Great local pub, friendly service and good beer selection.
Absolutely lovely place to go for a cocktail. Michael who is the manager is amazing and his colleague Gio. Michael makes the best cocktails in town. His Daquari is sublime. The Cuckoo has a Mediterranean feel about it with fresh flowers artfully placed in delightful vases on tables inside and outside seating area at this venue in the heart of Barnsbury. The road next to The Cuckoo is no through traffic and a delightful sun trap also so great for topping up your tan as well as sipping thr best cocktails in town. Highly recommended also for hiring out for wedding receptions, birthday parties and even has rooms you can stay the night in on the first floor. Well behaved doggies welcomed and well looked after. Michael's staff who help him to run the venue are fab and so friendly. We learn a lot about foreign countries to visit from knowledgeable staff who travel and are happy to recommend places to visit and so nice to be made so welcome and what a fantastic time we have whenever we pop into The Cuckoo.
A fantastic bar with an incredible selection of gins and wines. The pizza was clearly hand stretched and the South African twist on the Biltong pizza was delicious! The artwork inside is very impressive and well thought out. This will definitely become my new local!
AMAZING vibe LOVELY staff, such a great local pub 10/10 ❤️
The new managers have turned a run down pub into a beautiful and well managed bar/restaurant! There is a fantastic selection of wines that pair beautifully with the cheese/meat platters. Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic little pub, friendly service and felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Good selection of larger and ale and they have a small menu of fresh pizza's which were delicious, veggie options too. Stayed in one of their double rooms which was immaculately clean and spacious with a lovely comfy bed - couldn't ask for more! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
I had my weeding party there. The staffs were brilliant. Very polite and very efficient. Lovely place.
Amazing Hidden Gem!
Loved this little pub, the staff were really friendly and were prompt to serve us. The food is a must, great quality and very tasty.
I would certainly recommend!
Amazing rotation in kitchen residencies so fantastic food and every month a new chef. Excellent staff who care and want to work there. Good beers. Nice and always able to walk in and find a piece of quiet. Good for kids as well as there is plenty of space and a big table to sit on.
Myself and my daughter stayed for one night in room 1 which was a wonderful room. Michael and Gio were very welcoming hosts and kind. My only one comment would be to include a pint of fresh milk in the fridge (I’m fussy about my morning cup of tea!) and perhaps some fruit as the healthy snacks (there were crisps and sweets). Would definitely stay again.
With only the outdoor space available we had a lovely time evening in this pub, can't wait for the inside to be open as it looks amazing!! Friendly staff with some lovely South African wines and yummy food.
The hotel room was really nice. It was clean, and the decor was amazing. The hotel is part of the pin building, so when they leave, there is no reception staff. I forgot to ask for the wifi password before they left. Only a minor issue but overall I would definitely stay again
Brilliant pub and hotel, we come down here all the time and also had our wedding party here! The pub has a great drinks selection (lovely beers and ciders, Aperol Spritz and other cocktails and a really good wine list) and fantastic pizzas and, despite its central London location, is based down a quiet and peaceful back street.
Michael and Gio and all the staff here are great, so friendly and helpful, and helped us to organise a great wedding party (ordering us a load of prosecco, helping out with organising the caterers and checking in our family to the hotel). There was no charge to hire and they even sorted out the delivery of our cake!
Our family stayed in the hotel upstairs and the rooms are really, nice, spacious and recently refurbished (with fridge and coffee machine included) - no noise from outside or the pub either. Plus it's in a great location, very close to Angel and King's Cross/St Pancras (and as mentioned in a really peaceful back street despite being so central).
I just want to thank the lovely staff and customers at this friendly pub for helping my friend today when she fell off her bike. She was really shaken and upset and they took her into the pub and looked after her and let us stay for ages. We didn't even buy a drink! But I will be back soon to
make up up for that!
The two boys working behind the bar were so helpful giving me directions to my daughters play. So lovely! Also made a splendid Negroni. Thank you Isaac and Fin!
