We went to The Avalon for the first time for Sunday lunch. All four of us had the roast beef and we also ordered a lovely bottle of Lussac-St Emillion. The food tasted great and the good sized portions were well presented. The service was excellent too. Looking at what was being served to other tables the roast pork and roast chicken dishes also looked as if they would be great as well. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Avalon for a a great Sunday lunch.

The Blue Room at The Avalon is a great space for a big 22 seater dinner and private party. Big thank you to the amazing and patient staff who looked after our excitable group till 1am on Saturday.....we had an incredible night!!! I hope we weren't too much trouble.

Loud and unashamedly debonair, the Avalon reeks of awesome. Packed beyond capacity on Bank Holiday Sunday night, we were lucky to have found a place at all, given how centrally located and popular this place is. Food wasn't that evening's agenda so a Guiness and a Peroni were had. The Peroni, fresh as it was, was still a watered down lager but with a decent mouthfeel. Medium carbonated, oh-do-slightly bitter and a sweet nose is how I'd describe the rest of my experience...
...But that's just the beer. Once you're past the frivolities of 'enjoying the beer', the Avalon surrounds you with a lively and lovely crowd ranging from casually dressed geriatrics to chic youngsters. The music, random as it was, complemented the atmosphere rather well. They were also screening a match but no one really seemed to give a shite. People seemed to be enjoying being in the Avalon, per se, and with good reason. Highly recommended as long as you're prepared to pay the well obvious premium. Or if you're being sponsored ;)

A little expensive, but never fails to please. Can be a bit noisy of a Friday or Saturday night but the service is alway attentive. High quality meals and menu changes regularly. Personal favorite it the duck massaman!

I love this place! Its separated into three different areas. Outdoor patio, the bar and the restaurant. The bar is always busy and fun and the restaurant is really good! iv been here several times and have never been disappointed! the food is always extremely good! And its quite nice to have the pub area for ether before or after food. I definitely recommend this place! In a couple words I would describe this place as super high end pub food but for a really good price.

A couple of Sundays ago, my flatmate and I really need to eat and chat and chat and eat.

We headed to The Avalon in Clapham and had one of the best roast dinners I've ever had. It was up there with my Step-mama's roasts. Didn't quite clinch the deal, but then The Avalon isn't family. Yet.

Sarah went for the chicken, and I went for the pork belly. Pork belly is Oliver's absolute favourite. I often find that it's not done that well, but this was not one of those times. Perfect crackling, rich juicy pork, and a Yorkshire Pudding the size of my face.

June might not be optimum roast dinner eating season, but make an exception. You won't regret it.

The dining room is beautiful, and even with the world cup playing in the bar, it wasn't at all loud. The portions were generous and the service was faultless.

Now if we could just move it closer to my house, that would be perfect.

I come here a lot and this pub is absolutely great. Today I had one of the best meals ever. This garlic honey roasted pork belly was on the specials and it was everything you could want from a meal.. compliments to the chef!

Was staying at hotel next door and popped in for a meal. The staff were very welcoming and explained the menu. There was a special to celebrate their 20 years in business. This was very tasty and excellent value and delivered promptly. £6:80 for a pint was a shock, but that comes from living in the south west without London prices! Staff were friendly again when I left. The pub is nicely laid out and decorated. Would highly recommend.

I booked out a space at the Avalon and was very pleasantly surprised. Marley was helpful and very accomodating, and her staff worked really hard to give a great service during a very hot day in the garden. The area provided was beautiful and all who attended had a wonderful time. The platter food choices were great and a massive variety to choose from. Overall, it was a great experience.

The Avalon, what a chirpy place! A lovely Street side pup in the south of Clapham. Plenty of keg beers and three cask ales on offer, all served by the delightful friendly staff. A large European menu on offer with plenty of seating both inside and out where you may enjoy food, drink and company. Avalon is named after the (mythical) Island of fruit trees from Arthurian legend. No sign of the Lady of the Lake here today. Never mind, the beer is great.

Great local pub. Went on a Sunday afternoon and the secret garden was lovely. They tend to play most of the big football matches as well, and is a lovely spot to settle in and enjoy sport.

Love the layout of this venue, huge change fro when it was The George. The garden area is fantastic nothing over the top just the basics. Service and welcome was very pleasant. Seems like it can get busy so I'd recommend booking or call ahead. Meal was nice. I did enjoy my time here.
