Extremely tasty "Soul Food". Just like what mummy use to make!
It was a major joy to experience some real good, 'Jamdown' food.
I live in Manchester, while in London for the day I visited Brixton. In the morning I had the 'All day breakfast' went around London and made my way back for an evening meal - indulging in 'Strewed chicken, rice and peas and coleslaw. That was one heavenly meal. Enabled me to head back to Manchester with 'Mi belly full'.
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Great food pricing, so 5 big stars to this establishment from me.
My only issue with my experience - was the name of the establishment... the name has no 'roots' No 'History'. If I was to name that place - it would be "Momma's Soul Food" "One Love Brixton" or "Roots Delight".
Overall. A very impressive experience eating at 'Healthy Eaters'.
Thank You!
I ordered rice and beans with curried goat and salad.. the food and staff were just gorgeous !
Excellent food. Excellent staff. The ambience in the restaurant is soooo welcoming, relaxing and feels like home. Making this place my official spot for superb authentic Jamaican good.
Food is fantastic.,well made . A really nice welcoming place to eat. Would recommend for a taste of the west indies
Great service lovely food. Guinness punch was authentically strong. Juicy pattys. Il be visiting again.
Food is so delicious, and the staff are 5 stars. Definetly recomend it, either to eat there or take away.
Best carribean shop in brickie
A true example of original Jamaican meals prepaired and delivered with SOUL.
Seasoned with natural herbs to the BONE.
Service with a smile.
Listen…. Do your self a favour and meet the wonderful owner and his family. This place it’s 100% vibes great food great staff everything. Don’t get me started on the jerk chicken and peas and rice 😮💨😮💨😮💨 absolutely delicious. All the way from Australia I’m delaying my flight home so I can get one more meal.
What a nice and trendy restaurant located in Brixton Row! Their Jerk chicken is top notch !! The owner and their staff are super friendly ! Definitely will be again to try some other dishes too !!highly recommended.
I had small meal box for £10, red bean rice with one choice of meat (jerk chicken), add extra fee for salad. The food is so yummy, sauce and portion are all perfect, just right amount of rice to meat.
I’d love to re-visit next time.
Only thing lacking a bit is service, I was standing there without anyone serving for a good few minutes.
So I came to show my French hubby what London food is all about. I couldn't take him saying that British food is bad. So for our wedding anniversary, I brought him to London on an eating spree and I of course HAD to show him some authentically delicious Jamaican food.
My my my. We took one oxtail meal for 2 because we'd had like 5 meals before but it was SO good that I wouldn't have minded having a second plate for myself 🤣😅 Yep it was THAT good. The service and atmosphere was chill and friendly 🤗. Thank you so much!
Nice little spot to eat! Can get really busy but it’s worth the wait! Always good to eat in, not very big but it’s clean!! It’s cool how you can see what’s cooking in the kitchen. Nice place! Check it out!! Good customer service too!!

I did not have to wait long for the food, the service from start to finish was on point .
I would highly recommend this restaurant .
Rock down to Electric Avenue! and then take in some of the best food in London..and definitely London's best Jamaican food! Oxtail, jerk chicken, rice and peas, calaloo, plantain, homemade fruit punch, and homemade desserts (bread pudding, potato pudding, and carrot cake), etc. were all superb! The wonderful owners and friendly staff create a fantastic atmosphere. You must stop here in London and afterwards stop by the vendors at Brixton Market....

Oh my god, it was one of the most delicious meals I had in the last weeks! They gave us various things to try out, everything was perfect, Curry goat, perk chicken, lamb. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.
Great authentic Jamaican food and drink with excellent service
What can I say, this was some amazing Jamaican food. The ackee and salt fish and the fried plantains were my favorites. The service was fast and the food was so well seasoned. I was only in town for 4 days but I had to go back a second time to get my fix.
oxtail was satisfying, beef patty had quite a nice thyme flavour and the staff were all very nice. lady serving me put loads of gravy all over my rice without me even asking and it’s those little things that i really appreciate 🙏
Visiting London. I must admit the Oxtail and rice I had was very nice, I just don't think it was value for money. I ordered an oxtail meal. I had alot of rice and 4 small peices of Oxtail for £10. The container was small and I was disappointed that the meal did not come with even a bit of veg. Not really a meal..but it did taste nice.
Delicious food everything was made fresh and ready to order. Definitely will be coming back next time I’m in the area to try the oxtail would recommend for anybody . Staple for the community !
I was visiting the Brixton area for the first time and am Jamaican-American so I was on the hunt for good jamaican food. I found Healthy Eaters in the Brixton Market and it was amazing! Very sweet employees and owner, the seated restaurant area is super cute with great music. 10/10 would recommend!
Quite good food! Lots of locals.
I ordered carrot cake and pepper steak w/ rice and peas. Hearty food & good portion/ price. Tasted authentic.
Will visit again if I’m around.

There are time in life when you know that God is guiding you. I am NOT religious in the conventional sense, but this is the best way to describe what I can only say was one of the BEST dining experiences of the year thus far!!My sister and I went to Brixton to get something in a haberdashery store, purely by chance (or serendipity) we passed this eating establishment. We saw as we passed a gentleman going from table to table, seemingly chatting to the patrons. We mental marked it , went and found what we originally went for and , indeed , returned. We were greeted at the door by the same gentleman, he introduced himself as Stafford, the second part of a GREAT team, his wife Rose being the 'real' BOSS, he pointed her out in their cookery side of the business. We were seated. I requested to know a bit about the business. We sampled four starters, added sides, had their 'in-house' rum punch (which was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS'. The total price for this experience was TREMENDOUS, soft music in the background..I could talk and talk about the ambience, chilled vibe....etc. All in all , just go and visit. Taste, hot, fresh, fabulous food. Get some Brixton local knowledge.......JUST GOOOOO. Thank you Rose and Stafford
Went on Saturday lunch time. Lovely service. Few people around (it was a lobvely sunny day) but my goodness...the food was unreal. The jerk wings (better than anything ive had in Jamaica)...curried goat (proper goat (not mutton)) and the ppper prawns - they look like normal prawns but they're ridiculously spicey / tasty and perfectly cooked. I'm salivating writing this. I will be back.
Jamaican takeaway that also offers up seating across two floors, with a great offer of budget meals and classic patties. We both opted for a large plate: £7 for a choice of meat, fish or curry/stew plus rice and peas and a side. Worked out at great value and we both left stuffed. Jerk chicken was great although rice was a little stodgy and overly sticky. In all though I'd recommend with no hesitation.
