Firecracker offers modern Oriental dining that ultimately caters to a business audience, but still delivers some quality fusion-styled dining. It was one of the last restaurant meals I lapped up before I ditched Westminster for a new borough. At Firecracker I went once for lunch, and once for takeaway and was always pleased (not never wowed) by the food on offer. And then, there’s karaoke!

The firecracker provides a spicy alternative to the otherwise meagre and bland alternatives in and around Milbank Towers. I have tried the meal deals only. The idea was to try each combination. Well, I find the meal deals the best value for money options in the restaurant. Only let down was the chicken teriyaki - it was sweeter than usual.
Food 3.5/5
Service 4/5
Ambiance 3/5 The seating is comfortable, but the interiors are too dark for my liking.

I recommend this place

Been here twice now, once being for a friends birthday so we ordered off the set menu. The service was average but I did enjoy my food & drinks. Prices are reasonable as well

Excellent. I had a couple of 'small' dishes and a main. Probably too much. But the food was excellent and I worked my way through it.
Beware - on 2 occasions I have shown up to dinner to find the venue 'closed for a private party'. On one of those occasions I had walked past earlier in the day and there was no sign up. Ring ahead.

Surprisingly good... great fun.. I visited Firecracker with my work colleagues for a late Christmas party. Not to far from Westminster Tube Station and hidden out of the way is probably one of the best Chinese restaurant I have been too in recent years. When my colleagues explained that it was a Karaoke venue I was half expecting a average buffet Chinese where we would have to be subjected to the screeching of the general public while eating off plastic table cloths. I couldn't have been further from the truth if I had tried.
The "Karaoke rooms' are private rooms that are stashed round the sides off the restaurant hidden away from view and reasonably sound proofed with their own Karaoke systems. However when you had 20 people all singing to Oasis understandably the sound proofing was giving way. But it meant we were not subject to everyone else's singing and for those who ate in the main area they didn't have to listen to it either.
The food was not a buffet either. It was quite simply delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. We had mainly finger food, but it was so tasty I am tempted to go again to try out the full menu at a less drunken and less noisy event.
The staff were superb throughout, quietly moving about, replacing drink when needed, providing a steady supply of food, always attentive and around when you needed them.
From the experience I had, for parties and business events, this is the place to go. But I would like to also try it out as a dining venue also.

Usually when a Chinese restaurant allows people to maraud tunelessly through 90s classics at the end of a meal it means only one thing: The food is shit. Bizarrely though at Firecracker the food is not, at all. In fact I’d go so far as to say it’s one of the better Chinese restaurants in London…

Ordered on justeat.
Delivery was well before time. +1
Dimsums were very bland and cold. They only sent chilli sauce and nothing else. -1
The egg fried rice, green curry and mixed veg were very good. I asked them to make it spicy and they didn't disappoint. +3
Good value for money. All for 17. +1

After a 3 month wait i finally managed to get a table and a karaoke room in Firecracker! Im assuming we had to book so in advance because there are only 3 karaoke rooms in the restaurant.

Let me tell you, it was totally worth the wait! The rooms were spacious and set up beautifully, although the lights were dimmed it didn't make it feel tacky but instead gave the place a fun chilled atmosphere.

The food was goregoussss! I cant remember what exactly i had because we all shared.

The service and staff were friendly and patient, especially as we waited quite a while for everyone to get there.

Overall, a fantastic night with great food, i recommend if you want to do something different with friends definitely book a karaoke room!

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a reliable Chinese takeaway service that can become his go-to choice on a Saturday night.

Over the years, I have developed a theory that whilst a quality pizza delivery place is not difficult to find, and a quality Indian joint is rare, but can exist, a quality Chinese takeaway - the sort that stands out from the crowd and warrants numerous return visits - is the thing of myth and legend. It's a pleasure to finally be proven wrong.

Firecracker is a restaurant first, and a takeaway second. Perhaps this should, if anything, diminish the quality of their delivery work - but in fact it seems to have raised their game. We start with some dim sum - carefully packaged and overflowing with flavour, it is a shame to use the dips on them. But, in a strange catch-22, the dips themselves (a simple hot sauce and a rich hoisin) are so tasty it is also a shame not to use them. Particularly pleasurable are the duck rolls, though it is hard to find fault amongst any of the pieces.

The Fujian Fried Rice is a delight, but the presentation is a wonderful diversion itself. The whole dish is served in an innovative little pot that keeps the rice in the bottom, the hearty sauce and meat selection in a tray above, and seals it all together with a lid. Mix to your taste, and shovel it in accordingly.

Firecracker comes not without its faults, but in a market flooded with the unremarkable, even those slightly above average will stick out like a sore thumb. It's wonderful that Firecracker doesn't use this as an excuse to underachieve, and continues pushing for great food.

I had my 23rd birthday here last night and had a BLAST! The food was delicious, I picked Set Menu A and each dish came out quickly, hot and absolutely delicious, plenty to go round for the 10 of us. The room was a nice size with very good karaoke facilities and privacy from the rest of the restaurant. The service was AMAZING!! They escorted guests to the karaoke room, were attentive to my guests' needs, bar service was quick and cocktails were lovely, brought my cake in nicely lit and dimmed the lights. We were even given 10 complimentary tequila shots!! I would 100% be back here again. I've already told my sister to do her 27th here next year and would recommend for anyone who wants to have a fun karaoke night or who just wants to eat beautifully flavoured oriental cuisine.

This place was almost perfect, but still one of the best karaoke experiences I've had in London. The room we had was well maintained with nice decor and a karaoke machine with a smooth interface that had lots of choice! The staff were excellent, very friendly and happily answered all our questions. And the food was great, even more so as most karaoke venues I've been to don't serve anything as nice if you get to eat at all (nothing to write home about but exceeded my expectations on what I thought would just be a nice extra)! We didn't have control of the a/c in our room which did get a bit stuffy (though some of our party were cold and we didn't actually ask the staff it they could change it so a small personal bug) and the website doesn't accurately represent the price (which whilst it was higher than we thought it would be, was pretty average for what I'm used to and more value for money as we had the room for a long time with dinner included). About an hour left into our night they gave us some free drinks as well, so they definitely know how to entice you too come back! Would highly recommend

Loved firecracker in Kennington and this is just as good! Food amazing, staff so friendly and always immaculately clean. The karaoke rooms likes great fun but we're sounds proof so you only knew they were there when someone went through a door. I can highly recommend the Bao Buns 🤩

Absolutely loved the food from firecracker! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, Broccoli, and egg fried rice. Everything tasted delectable and was package neatly. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Really tasty, great flavoured food! It was quiet but the food didn't take long to arrive. Cocktail was "low tide" and could have filled the glass more. It was tasty! It is a bit pricy but in my opinion it was worth it. Good treat!

I came to Firecracker - Westminster for my birthday the other day on Friday and i was absolutely delighted with the service. Elaine took very good care of me and my friends, she was so kind, helpful and explained how everything works with the booking in detail, she even recommended i have the inside out chicken wings on my party menu as the majority of customers love it. I'm glad i listened to her because she was right, the wings were so delicious. The staff were helpful, nice, prompt and attentive. I was very pleased with the top quality of service and food. My friends and i enjoyed the food and it was very well presented. The atmosphere and ambiance was lovely, and the room we booked was clean. Thank you so much Elaine and the Firecracker Team for the delicious food and fantastic service! I had an amazing night and would definitely love to come back.

We needed a place with Chinese Food for a hen do dinner but also we wanted to fit a karaoke into the day. I was soo happy to discover Firecracker. We were able to do both at the same time. We actually had so much fun that we did stay there for 5h in a private karaoke room. Elaine handled our booking and looked after us during the whole night. She made sure we were happy and we had absolutely everything we needed. The food was fantastic and all 13 girls comment how good the food was. Very clean place and great location, only short walk from Westminster station or directly outside bus stop from Victoria. Thanks Firecracker for a great night.

This place was interesting! We went for a work lunch, and spent £9.50 on their box. It was a great price and I'd definitely go back for that offer, good price for a good amount of food. Not only do you get a main and a side (rice/noodles), but also more sides! I got the noodles, pork belly, chicken wings, and dumplings. The pork dumplings were really good! The service was a bit odd/rude, but nothing that would stop me going back. I can imagine it being more expensive at dinner time though, so I'd probably only go back for the lunch deal box. I also spotted a karaoke room which could be fun! 🎤

Went for a birthday party, food was tasty and good portion size. Out karaoke machine was not working initially but the staff were happy to try and fix it which they did. The only issue I had was it was difficult to work the karaoke machine but I would definitely come back again
