Nice pub with friendly welcoming staff. They have a good selection of beers wines and spirits and also serve food most of the week apart from Sundays. It is also a dog friendly pub
Great spot for a yarn. When we were there we had a chap called Dave who cooks pork pies up the road and apparently owned many pubs in a previous life, still owned a number of boats harboured in San Francisco and other places, had a 34 year old French/Belgian wife (Dave was easily 70) and was missing
Lovely traditional pub with friendly staff and good food.
A delightful, simple and friendly pub offering a fine selection of beers both keg and cask. Service is bright and cheerful. The eponymous Duke is celebrated here with pictures adorning the walls and a fireplace, perhaps similar to the one whence his violin was consigned. The rest, as they say is his
Nice pub, well located as it seems the only one around for a little way! Good selection on tap, comfortable if a little small inside. Pints were around 6.50.
Cool place with plenty of beer and ale on tap. Outside seating. Very friendly service. Good food.
I used to visit regularly almost 20 years ago. The interior decor has changed since then of course. But the grated gas fire still flickers upon arrival. And the atmosphere is still relaxing & absorbing. 'Wellington's Boots' hang from the ceiling.
Friendly staff makes you feel welcome. They made a nice Bloody Mary and cappuccino. Neither on the menu, but it was a slow day and they always aim to please. Will become a regular.
Visited there very recently!
Got chatting to the landlord Mike!
What a really funny and friendly guy!
Great pub and great staff!
Small toilets though
Perfect pub for a sunny Sunday afternoon
