Visited again with my son and a couple of mates for late lunch
They all loved the food and the staff as ever were excellent, polite friendly and engaging
Can’t rate it highly enough - favourite Italian in London
The food and service was excellent highly recommend
Ottimo ristorante... si mangia benissimo !! Eccellente servizzio buonissima la pizza.
Well prepared food, good service! Thank you!
Food is good as ever. Very good service too
I have had fantastic pizza here several times, but the pasta I've had is also excellent. Staff are friendly and whenever I've visited it's been really busy, so probably best booking in advance.
Great pizzas. Really, really good sauce and really, really good base. Decent toppings.
Eat in, don't take away. Doesn't travel especially well.
This place is awesome. Great value for money, wonderful authentic Italian food. Always busy. Fantastic for meat eaters, pescatarians, vegetarians, great wine list, good service. Tasty food.
Well loved by the locals, Sarracino is perfect for a relaxed gathering and real Italian food. However a few more vegetarian options would be greatly appreciated.
Situated in a side street in West Hampstead this is a true Italian restaurant in every way.
It’s not swish or swanky but little and local and that’s what makes it special. Sarracino is lined with wooden tables draped with white table cloths and adorned with a candle, in this sense, the restaurant has a charming and relaxed atmosphere ideal for a cosy gathering away from the hustle and bustle of central London.
Would I Want Seconds?
The authenticity of Sarracino’s food can be instantly recognised from glancing at the menu. Each dish is named and described in detail in both English and Italian, harking back to the fact that the restaurant has kept all recipes original. The chefs have studied and acquired years of experience in Naples. These original recipes, experienced chefs and fresh ingredients create a treat for the taste buds. The traditional pizzas are larger than the plate they are served on and full of taste with a range of toppings to choose from and the pasta also have as variety of options.
They also have a special menu explained by the waiter as you seat which offers an additional option, perfect for their regular local diners. However the menu is quite meat heavy with only a few options for vegetarians, but these options are definitely up to scratch.
Could I Afford Seconds?
Yes. Prices for the enormous pizza’s or pasta dishes range from £7 - £9 depending on the topping and the main courses are about £14 if you desire an even bigger plate of food. However due to the healthy size of the portions I don’t think I would be able to fit in too many of their traditional Italian courses.
Overall:
Well loved by the locals, Sarracino is perfect for a relaxed gathering and real Italian food. However a few more vegetarian options would be greatly appreciated.
This place is a great restaurant. It's not so big and so you're guaranteed good service. All of the staff working were efficient and very well mannered. The food cannot be faulted. It's very clear that the chef knows how to create authentic Italian food. You should go here if you want to taste it. It's a million miles away from those chains purporting to be Italian. It drops one star because in my opinion, the food would be much better, and stay hotter for longer if the plates were warmed... Food did get cold quite quickly here. Overall, it's a lovely place, with great food and I highly recommend it.
Visited this Italian restaurant with my family for the first time on Saturday evening. We didn't make a reservation and although they were very busy, they found a table for the three of us. The front window opens up completely and we were offered a table by the window at first, as we went to sit down the wind got slightly stronger and the owner asked if we would be more comfortable downstairs in the other part of their restaurant, we chose to go downstairs and we ended up having the downstairs to ourselves. We had a lovely waitress looking after us and couldn't have done her job any better than she did, excellent service. The food was lovely and no one had any complaints regarding any part of their meals.
I would highly recommend this Italian restaurant and we will be returning there soon to enjoy some more delicious Italian food. 10/10.
This is our favourite place to eat in London. The food here is fresh and delicious, it has never disappointed and we have gone more than 8 times. The service is very good, complimentary bread on arrival, always a full glass. 10/10 all round.
The food and service at Sarracino was amazing!! Dana, Veto and Izabella were so kind, attentive and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was 11/10! I would recommend this restaurant as the food was so delicious and the customer service was outstanding.
The atmosphere is really nice. The food as well , pizza Diavalo was good to spice then usual Diavola.
The bread plate was not good I will suggest to change it.
Everything else was good and I had a good time and nice food.
Also nice stuff , friendly.
I will recommend this place
One of the best family owned Italian restaurants.
One of my favourite local Italians. Food quality is 10/10. Tables are a little tight - but it creates a nice buzzy feel. The best table is the one in the window, on a summers day when the windows are open. Free limoncello with the bill - always nice.
Really really good pizza and food! Ordered a primavera and the orecchiette, both were delicious. Real depth to the taste - the pizza was fresh and also light and the pasta really had the tomato and aubergine coming through. A very Tucson typical Italian restaurant feel coming through not a dated and tired but rather timeless. Can't wait to go again. Service was respectful and wine was well priced (and tasty).
Great experience at Sarracino, found totally randomly as we were looking for a place that would still be serving dinner. Excellent pizza (and choice in general), and I'm a picky pizza eater ;) Staff are lovely.
Authentic Italian food, we’ve been coming to sarracino for years for pasta and pizza. Always happy with our meal. Highly recommended it.
Like this place. Nice ambiance, good food, friendly service. Pizzas and pastas were lovely, antipasti good as well. Not the cheapest, but will totally be back.
No.1 Restaurant of this high standard in the area, clean, fresh, welcoming and a wide selection of food your mouth waters for
Good overall meal experience, staff were lovely and attentive, except one surly bald headed fella, seems less than happy with his lot in life, this was more than made up for by the rest of the team. I had a steak and potatoes which was good, if a bit more cooked than I asked for(medium), thankfully not leather. Everyone else in our party was happy with their meals.
We love this local Italian restaurant, we’ve been coming here for 10 years! The reason - simply put, the food & service is exceptional and Roberto and the team always look after you. The food is very authentic - if you haven’t been, you must, a real gem of a restaurant!
lovely staff, great service and amazing food. A local gem
Have only eaten in once but have been ordering delivery for years. Try both, you won’t be disappointed. Great tasting food, good wine recommendations and good service.
Fantastic hidden gem. Food is delicious and very attentive staff
I think the Sarracino's experience was great. This little Italian restaurant is quite hidden and not in the main road of West Hampstead, but the food is great and I recommend you the pizza! Well cooked, extremely tasty and really rich in the use of ingredients as you can see from my pictures. Really recommended!
