A simple and fairly-priced restaurant offering authentic Turkish food, unlike most Turkish restaurants in the UK. Difficult to choose between the hummus and the falafel so get both. And choose any of the Turkish mains - I’ve eaten them all and they’re great.
Incredible food, in a friendly environment. The smell of freshly baking bread/pizza will keep you there for hours!
Delicious food with heart & soul ! No pretentiousness either. Have patience because the freshly prepared food (including the salad!) is truly worth it. Ate everything! Service...brilliant! And child friendly. So happy to have this place as a local. You've gained a regular. Thank you!
Amazing food and even better service. Such a warm welcome- thank you!
Went here today for a lunch with my young family. We were made very welcome, the food was made fresh in front of our eyes. Our children were entertained with tricks but also shown round the kitchen, which our children found fun and informative. We found the food very well priced for the quality and will be back in the very near future.
Keep up the good work guys!!!
I'm thrilled that such a delicious, family-friendly eatery has opened up in our little patch of Leytonstone. Really enjoyed the hummus, garlic bread and pizza. Looking forward to trying something from the more adventurous sections of the menu next time... Our daughter had a great experience with the food and friendly staff (She spent much of the rest of the day trying to reproduce the magic trick performed by the entertaining owner!)
Had a wonderful meal with my wife & kids.
The restaurant has a lovely ambience. & the staff are absolutely top class, very friendly & pleasant!
The food is magnificent, all freshly prepared!
Not local to me but no doubt I will be going back!
Thank you for a lovely evening!
Highly recommended!
Keep up the good work mate!...
Fantastic food. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend
Delicious, fresh food + very friendly owner, he even entertained the kids with his magic tricks :) will certainly visit again, thank you!
Shout out to Jay for always making us feel welcome whilst also providing excellent traditional Turkish food. Highly recommend trying his Adana kebab and Revani cake.
Amazing traditional Turkish food in generous portions. Welcoming neighbourhood atmosphere and friendly chatty owner. we ordered the Lahmacun, Ali Nazik, Guvec, and Pide and we couldn't get enough!
Great little gem! Owner is very easy to speak to and made us feel welcomed straight away. Food was delicious and has left us planning our next trip already!
Had a lovely evening at Oven East on a cold Sunday evening!.
Visited Oven East with the family and our eldest (3 years old) had a blast cooking with Jay (Owner and Chef) at Oven East making own Mince Pide.
We tried something new Içli Köfte (Turkish Stuffed Meatball) OMG so tasty, really nice and the accompanying homemade Garlic and chilli sauces were delicious.
We had Iskender which was beautiful and not coated in huge amounts of butter, just lovely. Buttery rice - yum the kids loved that including the Pide, they also tucked into the Iskender.
All the bread was homemade and tasty.
We got lucky and were offered complimentary dessert of Revani which is beautiful semolina cake with almonds sugar syrup and shredded coconut garnished on top.
We also got to try a slice of Pistachio cheesecake - yum.
Felt very spoilt, great atmosphere, seriously recommend, will be going back for sure.
Thanks for your hospitality Jay.
Azi/Zulfi and the kids!
Guy saw us come in with a tape measure fresh from B&Q and said, “You guys look like you need a couple of soft brinks, fresh falafel, halloumi, sausage and some fresh Turkish bread.” That’s exactly what we needed! Quickest 5* review I’ve ever given.
Super tasty traditional Turkish food and an awesome host serving it (yummy kettle coffe). Totally recommending this cozy place (the honey figs melted me)
Food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and accomodating
Wow, best Turkish cuisine I have been to by a long shot. We had various starters and main, all were new to my taste buds, service was excellent, the chef/host was great to talk too, price was very reasonable. Highly recommended, I will be going there again when in the area.
Excellent food, big portions, good prices. The boss is really friendly. We had shish lamb, chicken salad and lahmacun. They also serve freshly made flat bread, which is excellent. The portions were big and we were barely able to walk after that! We'll visit again. I hope they keep it like this.
Fantastic place with heart, soul and great Turkish food. The owner made us feel incredibly welcome and his sous chef was lovely too. Can't wait to go back.
We had a great meal, excellent quality, good size potions. Our children loved the pizza we took away. Would definitely go back. Very friendly staff and very welcoming.
Great food, very, very well priced. So good, I'd gladly pay double (but please keep prices down for now)! All the food we had was delicious, in particular the falafel was very yummy. Can't wait for our next visit!
On a side note, Jay, the owner, is an absolute charmer!
The guy that runs this place is so friendly and passionate that although it doesn't look much from the outside and inside is shabby chic to say the least you still feel positive about going in! He is also the chef of some aaaaamazing Turkish food.
Highly recommend the spinach tarator for garlic and dip lovers, the lamb pide for a fantastic switch up to pizza and the lahmacun because who doesn't need more bread?! The portions are big and the price fairly good.
If you're looking for an intimate dinner this is not the place, but for a fun dinner out with friends and great food I'd definitely recommend.
It’s perfect for any perspective, it’s a pity that I came alone, couldn’t have the main dish by myself, would be back!
Wonderful tasting food, fresh ingredients. We both had the Iskander bowl and loved it. As well as the tea. Friendly and talkative owner made it feel a very welcoming and fun place.
Oven East is quickly becoming somewhat of a Leytonstone institution. Top quality and innovative dishes (the owner Jay likes to do things a bit differently) differentiate this from your standard kebab shop.
On the times I've visited the service has been top notch and owner Jay puts his heart and soul into his work and food meaning the standards haven't slipped.
On one visit I brought my mum who is vegan - Jay dished out some of the best falafels she's ever tasted (her words) - for a vegan of 40+ years that is quite an achievement - kudos!
Not much else left to say apart from support local and get down there.
By far the host with the most! The friendliest chap ever who will instantly make you feel at home and has so many fun stories to share. The food is delicious too, a lovely spot!
Great food and priced fairly.
Jay is a congenial host who makes you feel like you are at home.
