First anyone who wrote a negative review was not at Número Uno. I'm from the US but had a home in Clapham for 3 years I have eaten at número Uno at least 50 times. Now when u go someplace that often you expect that from time to time you may have a bad meal.... Never! They have been rated best Italian in London several times. It's true having lived half time here for 8 years I have been around.. Trust me its amazing old school Italian make waiters, the seafood risotto and sea food spaghetti oh my off the hook lobster arogosa to die for. Anything on the menu is good and CONSISTANT! Nice wine list and end it with limon cello

Definitely number one.... I feel bad that it's taken me 15 years to review this restaurant. I have been a huge fan, a true regular at this restaurant. Northcote Road had nothing on it when Numero Uno first appeared, now you can't move for restaurants but none are this consistent, year after year for 15 years I have never had a bad experience. For starters, it's a toss up between the carpaccio and the mozzarella in carrozza both of these are simple dishes but as with all these things its the test - simple things done well, every time. The main courses are perfect comfort food. I paid homage to the veal scallopini in wild mushroom and cream sauce the other day, emulating this at home (recipe is on my blog - I think I did it justice!). The best part of going to the same place over and over again is you get known and this is one of those restaurants where the staff haven't changed in 15 years. I love it. The place, the staff, the food. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough....
Best Italian outside of Italy. Can't fault this place. Everything is always cooked to perfection. Must have been about 25 times and it never gets boring or dull. Best pasta, steak and fish i've eaten outside of Italy
Highly recommend the aubergine parmigiana! Cheesy, melt in your mouth, crispy and smooth, it is a must order every time we visit. The pasta never fails to be hearty in portion and filling. Very fresh and overall delicious Italian food.
Such a refreshing change from the usual chain restaurants in London! The moment we stepped in on a Friday evening, we were transported to Italy with its authentic ambiance and busy Italian atmosphere. The food was very good. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience away from the ordinary, this restaurant is a must-visit gem in Wandsworth.
It’s one of those restaurants where you order food by randomly sticking your finger on the menu and it would turn out awesome. Service is great. If you like small family run restaurants, this is the place to go.

When seated it's all a bit tired (incl the staff)
But then the food is absolutely spot on, the staff is very friendly and know what to do.

Nice evening, food have been good but not outstanding. We’ve had the osso bucco which have been nice and the truffle pasta, which have been average.
Fairly exemplorary experience at an Italian local. The ragu especially was tremendous with delicate fennel flavours and deep stewed notes. I enjoyed the amosophere and decor.
I deduct a star because the house red was unpleasant. For 19.50 you deserve to at least enjoy your wine and it was served at a very warm temperature.
Great food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Try the wild boar pasta. It’s a knock out!

Just had an amazing lunch at Numero Uno. Service was great and they accommodated our asks to have salads with mains rather than veg. I had a rack of lamb and this was a serious rack, not just a couple of cutlets ! My friend had beautifully cooked swordfish. Just simply delicious and no problem at all. You can’t go wrong with this original, authentic Italian spot. Great prices for the quality, and portion sizes are generous.
I have been going to Numero Uno for over 30 years. I recently went back (August 2022) and had the same dish I always had - Mozzarella in Carrozza and the veal in mushroom and cream sauce. Sensational. It was as I remembered - perfect . Still the best Italian restaurant in my humble opinion
Great italian restaurant. They have a lot of different hand made pastas and nice desserts.
Be aware that service charge is NOT included on the bill. During payment you can choose the tip you want to give. (This was not obvious for me so I didn't tip and didn't pay service charge either. Sorry for this, Numero Uno)
