Reviews Chamomile Cafe & Restaurant

I worked in the Belsize Park area for several years and Chamomile was always a popular choice for a cup of tea (they have teapigs, which are the *best*) or coffee and a slice of cake. I've heard great things about their brunch too but have never managed to snaffle a table at that time of day! Busy, fun cafe.

This cafe is just round the corner from my flat so when a friend came to visit and my flat was being renovated we headed here for lunch. It is a busy local cafe and we were very lucky to get a seat. The staff are all very friendly and although the seating appeared squashed I didn't feel like we were being overlooked and we could talk quite happily. The menu is perfect for lunch or brunch. I chose a goats cheese salad while my friend had one of their brunch specials. My salad was a bit different from normal but still delicious. My friend was less impressed with her brunch special as I think she was expecting more for the price. It was a good place to go and talk but I did feel that we were hurried out once we had finished eating. Only to be expected in a busy cafe but.....

Randomly found this place on a Google search and it wasn't far from our Airbnb so we came for breakfast on a Thursday. It took a bit for the waiter to come over to us but once he did he was an absolute delight and hilarious to boot. I made my own avocado toast with eggs and bacon and did one of their green juices. I regret not getting coffee because my friend's smelled amazing but the juice was good and surely what my travel-worn body needed. The food itself came out timely and was clearly fresh and good quality with great portion sizes. They also have a very enticing baked goods section in the front that you can order with your meal or to go. My friend picked out an almond croissant and said it was better than the one he had in Paris the day before (he loves to be extra but you get the idea). Highly recommend for breakfast if you are in the area. Would definitely come back.

I went here for my first meal in London. The food was really good. I ordered the full English breakfast, and the two people with me had the avocado toast and one of the health bowls. The full english was really good, but I should have split it with someone because it was huge. The other dishes were really large as well, so maybe order to share.

I'll keep going back here because the food is solid and well-priced. I'm dinking the star bc the staff seems to have issues cracking a smile. My husband and I were here last Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. I got the cauliflower and celeriac soup and it was great: a hearty bowl with 2 pieces of brown bread and soft butter. The soup itself was rich with a smoky flavour. Yum. I also got the sides at the front: roasted cauliflower and pomegranate arils and roasted acorn squash and tomato. Again, great savoury flavours. I got the raw chocolate cake last time I was here and god it was delicious: so rich, I forgot it was raw! One fault is the flapjack they sell in the window. It was good the first time- the appropriate sweet flavour- and the second time, an earthy, savoury taste, which is totally wrong in a flapjack.

This charming little cafe is located near Belsize Park. I went here for weekend brunch. They have an amazing selection of brunch foods. From full English breakfast to American pancakes, you really can't go wrong with any item on the menu. It's also close to Primrose Hill, which is wonderful for a stroll after all of the food you just consumed.

Why argue with the general consensus of all the other reviewers. Get the pancakes! Some times cafes just do not do 'american pancakes' well but Chamomile is not guilty of this. I don't know what they put in the batter but it is delicious. Order a side of bacon while you're at it! You can't have maple syrup but a deliciously piggy accompaniment. Chamomile is a solid breakfast option and I'd definitely come back. It's definitely a bit 'yummy mummy' crowd but once you get past that, it's an awesome place to get brunch.

The full veggie is delicious too (meatless version of the full English). The veggie sausages are delish and they let you choose how you want your eggs (poached!).

Came here on a Saturday, late morning, with a friend. Had to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated, so probably wouldn't come here with a large group. Really cute place with dine-in and take-away options, and would be good for doing work as well (at least during an off hour).

Lovely place as advertised, their special board is really good on the weekends. I have had a lot of sandwiches and you can build your own. Also try the eggs Benedict or florentine as they are very good.

Loved the english breakfast, also got a decent green juice. Prices very reasonable and opens at 7am, great for jetlagged travellers. The service is a little unusual but gets the job done

Went here for brunch after a walk around Regents Park and Primrose Hill. It's a cute little cafe for breakfast, lunch or just a cup of tea with something sweet. Great service, friendly staff. I had the goat cheese pesto salad and it was awesome! I'd like to come back for breakfast sometime.

Cute little cafe. Nothing too special, not over priced. If I lived close, I can see myself going there once in a while. Pretty good indeed.

The cafe is very cozy and the staff are very friendly. I ordered the full England breakfast and it was very yummy and hearty. Bring your appetite for the meal. I paired it with a pot of Earl Grey. It's definitely a good start of my day and weekend. Will go back again as a regular.

Let me start with the concept. A chef that's up and coming, is enabled with the facility to fulfill his or her dreams and have a restaurant to impress the public. Fantastic idea ! We were treated to the Greek odessey. The food was good. Not spectacular but good. Interesting, different and a nice experience. Our staff, big shout out to Lizzie who was our waitress for the night. Absolutely impeccable. Friendly, attentive and funny. Impeccable service. Callum the barman was great too and kept our glasses topped up and put up with us through the night. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and loved the concept of the restaurant . Will be intrigued to see what comes next and hope to return.

One of the nicer cake 🍰 shop in the area. The flat white is amazing, it’s smooth and well balanced coffee. The cake portions are however too big. I wish they had smaller or half portions. We were feeling sad about leaving some cake. The apple pie was pretty crunchy and delicious. A bit pricy but makes for an amazing Saturday evening coffee. As expected, I came back here!

Really friendly and helpful staff. The coffee was great too. I also had two of their energy balls which were nice, though one would have been enough. You also need a larger coffee to wash them down or they get a bit cloying - I only had an espresso.

It's like visiting your family. I really like the lady there... maybe she owns the Chamomile Cafe. She is funny, very friendlich and heartwarming. Sometimes, the service is not customer focused, and you wait a little too long for recognition. πŸ˜€

Superb brunch breakfast and lunch. Good place for snacks brunch. I enjoyed an eggs benedick and mocha and was pleasantly surprised. Good service and tables outside that they regularly disinfect between customers due to Covid19. Overall good quality and service. Very good fresh juices too

LOVE this cafe! Dropped in for breakfast about 9am and it was quiet & cool. Had mushrooms on sourdough toast (comes with a poached egg) and it was LUSH. I have honestly not had nicer mushrooms, ever. Good decaf coffee, too. Friendly folk running the place, clean toilets. Costs a bit more than average, but on the evidence of my breakfast (Β£12), you're getting way more than average. Cafe heaven.

Excellent local cafe in the Belsize Park area. Reliably good breakfast. And you never know who will be at the next table in this part of London.

What a gem! A lovely warm welcome as I walked in from the staff. Plenty of places to sit and a nice mix of treats to choose from. Perfect for catching up with a mate, which is exactly what I did. The coffee was great, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was just right, not too loud nor too quiet. I will be visiting again, and a short walk from Belsize Park underground πŸš‡ (northern line) See you again soon! Solid A***** LDT x

This is my favourite go to place for a snack, a full meal or just a coffee and some 'me time' I love the breakfast there so much I tend to order it in the late afternoon after work! The eggs taste like the proper thing as I recall from my childhood!and the tomatoes have a lovely sweet piquancy Such a great place to relax , unwind and enjoy a peaceful time surrounded by a gentle hubbub of the families, ladies who lunch and earnest business meetings! The service is wonderful... it's a home from home( without the washing up!) Highly recommended!
