Love this place have been to London 3 times and have made a point to go there every time since my first visit which was 6 years ago. I completely recommend it
This is the first tavern we went to in London. Being hot, hungry and thirsty, we were not picky. A better place, we could not have chosen. The ciders were excellent and food was beyond what was expected. Atmosphere was spot-on.
Absolutely amazing food (Possibly the best Mac & Cheese) and the whole pub looks great with its decor and Christmas decorations
Lovely pub, great beer, great food and fantastic staff. Can’t fault it at all.
Visiting London for the day popped for late lunch and really enjoyed the experience. Staff were friendly & helpful, had to wait a bit for food but it was great when it arrived. Pub was busy, I wish them all the best.

The fish and Chips is great, and the variety of beer too
Nice and helpfull people behind the bar, giving advice and a little taste of beer to help you choose.
Absolutely fantastic fish finger brioche with side salad and spicy slaw. Great cider too. Great pub which we will revisit in June when back in London
We had a lovely time the staff are fantastic and very helpful , food was lovely and very quick service , can't wait to go again
Great place, beter food and the best service.
Great bar staff , the female bar lady yesterday at about 4.30pn was so helpful and informative about the beer and gin , would definitely return
Fantastic staff, amazing pints of Porter, and I have no words that can describe how good the food was.
I enjoyed the slightly different style of this pub and had to laugh that they stocked Coors Light. Nice staff and great cask ale.
Great pub, love the old school interior, friendly service too, what more could you ask for? Food of course...
After a pretty crap experience with the classic brit grub of fish and chips somewhere else I decided to see what an authentic pub could pull off.
Food looked amazing when it arrived, huge fish, golden batter, not excessively oily, fat fries, proper peas mash, slices of bread with big triangles of butter over them and a two lil containers, one of tartare sauce and one of a curry type sauce.
Fish was fries very well, batter crispy too, peas mash was a lil underwhelming, needed a lil kick, fries were perfect and went really well with the curry dipping sauce, was a lil sweet but balanced well with overall meal, plus u could taste the spices.
Overall quite happy with experience and would go again.
After my first few days in London I was after a relaxed pub meal and a few beers with friends, and that's exactly what I got here!
The staff are friendly, the place was busy but not crowded and the food was delightful! I ordered the Taylor Walker (yes AFL fans, that's the name of the burger) and it goes like this.
Two 3 oz' patties with cheddar, crispy bacon, mustard, onion rings and their own burger sauce. Really great meal. The bun was so soft, the meat medium and the thick cut chips on the side were delicious. For £11 excluding the beer it is a bit on the pricier side though it's definitely satisfying. I was thinking of going the wagyu burger here but didn't want to spend the £15 unless I knew if they were worth it.
Will to back soon to try it!
You should come here!
Chicken is really good as juicy and not dry !
Drinks are fair — size vs price 🤣🤣
Like their music as not too noisy so you can chi-chat with friends very easy and cozy.
Location is great as well ! Try 🍺🍷
This place holds the record for being London’s narrowest pub. There’s toilets in the basement. A ground floor bar. Shuffleboard tables on the first floor and a function room on the 2nd floor. And historic pub and well worth a visit.
My family and I had just arrived from America and were waiting to check into our flat. We were all tired and hungry and decided to eat here. At first the hostess said there was not enough seating but a gentleman said he was leaving and we could have his booth. The hostess sat us down, we ordered, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is great, and everyone there was fantastic. I highly recommend this place!
Visited here 9th august before going to aldwych theatre.Wonderful pub restaurant steeped in history.Friendly, welcoming staff, fantastic food & extensive range of drinks. Will definitely come here again when next in the West end & wouldn't hesitate to recommend
Very friendly service and superb pub grub! Lovely atmosphere and very nice place to come and eat. Would definitely recommend this for a hearty lunch or evening meal.
Fun place filled with interesting history. The staff was super friendly, the food was really good, and they had some fun drinks on the menu
Really nice place. Cozy and warm. Good choice of beers and wine. Staff made me feel comfortable. Food was delicious. Squid not over cooked and halloumi fries perfectly cooked with spicy sauce. Will be back
I liked this pub. Plenty of seating and a large selection of draft beer (28 are on tap). There's a cozy area upstairs to sit. There's also more seating available on the main level. Make sure you get a chance to see the outside of the building. Absolutely wonderful architecture (squeezed in between two larger structures).
Such a cute, narrow pub. Really good drinks selection and it's nice to have a cheap chain like Greene King in this part of London. Will definitely be going back. Attentive staff, lovely decor and very clean. Very much recommend.
Great pub near Royal Courts of Justice. Staff are friendly and attentive. There is a great selection of beer, spirits and wines. Shame about toilets. One toilet was out of use and the other toilet door you could not shut properly
Stopped to enjoy an adult drink and rest for a while after walking to Buckingham Palace and surrounding shops and museums. The atmoshere was cozy and comforting as soft music played in the background. This is an idea place to wind down after a long day. Salute.
The food is great The atmosphere is like a bolt hole from the madness of Central London. Highly recommend. And free Iced Tap water by the door...! Views are v near, looking toward Fleet St
Found this place by accident. What a brilliant find. Had a lovely Steak Sandwich and a pint. Then went to leave and found it raining outside, so came back in for a G&T. Excellent choice and again brilliant service. Great knowlegable and chaty man behind the bar. The bar man, genuinley cared about his customers. Not something u see often these days. Thanks. PS They do Blue light card discount on food. With a voucher code.
Lovely old pub in the middle of London. Delicious food, good beer , great service and the atmosphere was great.. I had a very nice afternoon here. Will definitely be going back! Would 100% recommend.
It is tiny. We did have a great time here. The exterior is so cute, being well known for the pub with the narrowest frontage of those in London.
There is a whole lot of history in these walls, as well as along fleet street. If you are a Dickens fan, you may want to visit.
It's not far from Waterloo, the National Theatre & Southbank, or Covent Garden, if you're in any of those areas.
The crowd was quite youngish when we went. It's a bit off the beaten track, which is what I've always been fond of.
Nice atmosphere, good range of seating arrangements, very convenient if you work on Fleet Street of course. But it can get busy, it's fairly expensive and if you're not nearby, there's little reason to make the journey.
Great pub with a brilliant atmosphere reminiscent of earlier fleet Street pubs. Competitive prices and great staff.
