Great food, friendly atmosphere. I've been to Il Fornello multiple times because I love the food and the service is great. The presentation is not always the best, but what it might lack in appearance it certainly makes up for in taste. All of the servers are really friendly and the prices are reasonable. Its open all the time, even on holidays, and has a kitchy small-town vibe.

Il Fornello serves very traditional Italian food in a comfortable atmosphere. It is affordable and a very relaxed place that is great for lunchtime with friends.

We had a wonderful experience at Il Fornello while visiting London. We each had a different kind of pizza and all of them were great. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend. Prices were in line with what we've seen in London, it was an excellent value.

The welcoming when entering the restaurant was wonderful from the outside the restaurant looked small but when entered it was huge, huge space to relax and eat. Felt very traditional, we ordered regular homemade bread (menu) and tasted very good, not too crispy and not too soft, perfect.. we ordered mussels and my counter part ordered a seafood salad, both once again tasted very fresh and well presented, for main course we both ordered a fillet steak mine was medium rare and my counter parts was well done, both steaks cooked well according to what we wanted. will be back very soon.

I loved this restaurant, it was very cosy and i thought the paintings and design really gave it an italian feel. The staff were very nice.for starters i order garlic bread, which was a very good choice with the garlic to bread ratio was perfect. I ordered just a plain margarita and it was delicious, the dough was very fresh and wasn't too thick or too thing, just perfect. This restaurant truly made me fall in love with it and will be back plenty of times.

Good food and reasonably well priced. Good location and friendly staff. Restaurant seemed clean and decor was fitting for an Italian restaurant. House wine (red) was pleasant. I would visit again if in the area.

It was fantastic the meal was delicious big size portions. The only bad thing is its £2.95 for a drink. Apart from that it was amazing. I would highly recommend to any one who likes Italian meals.

3 people, 3 different meals....we were really impressed with the service and the food was absolutely delicious. Had Carlos's Tiramisu after and that was delightful, couldn't recommend this place enough. Second visit, still 5 stars... excellent.

Pizzas are very tasty and there is a real Italian feel here. The pineapple for my pizza was taken from the fruit bowl on the counter to the kitchen... Talk about fresh! Not the quickest service but worth the wait.

I was in Morton hotel about a week ago visiting the family because i work abroad. I thought as a surprise i'd take them out to dinner. I went there with my wife and child. My son had the Pizza Margarita and my wife had chosen the Fettucine Salmone. I had chosen Gnocchi as i am a great fan of it. No matter where i go i always order it. It's the best Gnocchi in London. I was most amazed when i really saw that it was home made. there aren't many restaurants that make fresh Gnocchi. The waitress was very friendly and We'll be sure to come again.

Il Fornello is a small Italian restaurant on Southampton Row. I had been meaning to go there for a while and finally did for a family meal on Sunday. The food was good and genuinely Italian and the service was welcoming and friendly 😋.

Be prepared to forgive the language barrier and point at the menu a lot. The gentleman who took my order during our first visit, for 'Pizza Napoletana', insisted on calling it "Pizza Napoli", failed to understand what a 'Sex on the Beach' cocktail is (and thus failed to bring it to the table!) and took a metric shed-load of convincing that I actually, really, definitely wanted a *Long Island* Iced Tea. This sort of service really does *not* add to the 'atmosphere' there. The negatives out of the way, the food's really good, the Lasagna al Forno is amazing - the best I've ever had! A bonus for me*, my daughter wasn't too well before we arrived so I got to finish her lasagna off, adding to the remaining majority of my pizza (boxed to take away.) *Don't judge me. ;)
