I have just eaten my lunch here and it was fantastic. I walked up to the chefs window and asked if he could make me a vegan lunch. What he served up was absolutely delicious. Next time I am in the area I will be paying this place another visit.
Went straight after the Chelsea v Leicester match for a celebratory drink , great atmosphere, quick service and no trouble . Will visit again .
Good food, good wine and great music loved the place thank you
Had an excellent Friday night dinner here. Great food and fab service. Great atmosphere too.
The best place for an amazing brunch in London.
Nice place, good food and friendly staff! I'll go back next time I am in London, that's sure.
We had a fantastic sunday roast first class will be visting again
We always try to have a pre match drink or two when we can. Love the atmosphere.
Delicious food, great service and location! 👍
Fantastic flavoursome fresh food with brilliant friendly staff . Thanks for a great evening
Ham Hock. Being an ardent Chelsea fan for the past 40 plus years, it would only make sense I would need to visit the historic place where Chelsea was formed over a handshake at a pub called the Rising Sun 100 plus yrs ago. The building itself has wonderful clean lines, lots of white and natural wood's being blended together in a modern style. The couple of times we went, we popped in for a pint on the way to our hotel across the street.
The bar is quite a nice respite from the busy outdoors scene around the Stamford Bridge. The bar staff were really very accommodating and polite. We ordered a few pints and relaxed at the large wooded table which served as a divide between the bar and the restaurant. In the corner of the bar was what looked a like a huge ham leg, cured, and in a special holding device so they could cut off slices for sandwiches I would imagine. We were there on Mum's day, so several folks were enjoying a brunch. The plates looked extremely tasty and overheard some patrons remarked on the goodness of their orders.
The beers were nice and cold and they made sure to keep them full for us. Although this is modern chic environment, it seems it would be a great place for a sunday brunch.
One oddity is, they do not carry football on the one telly in the place... I mean it's the scene of the formation of one of the best footie teams in the world (yes that is in my humble opinion) and it sits across the road from Stamford Bridge... I guess they don't want to be a sports bar but more of a restaurant.. which frankly is fine by me..
Despite a slightly dodgy location opposite Stamford Bridge, the Butcher's Hook continues to deliver great food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.
The charm of the Butcher’s Hook emanates from its rustic yet modern decoration. The light fresh hues on the walls and the distressed wooden furniture help create a delightfully de-stressed setting. The bar, upon which sits a Jambon de Noir de Bigorre and a Saucisson Sausage, runs down the left hand side of the venue and leads to an open kitchen. Behind the bar, framed by the exposed brickwork, you can see displayed a selection of the pub’s award winning wine list. A table of freshly baked bread, which is served complementary with all food orders, rests in the corner.
...this is a superior gastropub. If you are as ignorant as I was, here's a little background: The Butcher's Hook sits at the corner of Fulham Road and Holmead Road in Fulham , directly across the street from the Stamford Gate (east) entrance to Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge [1] stadium. In 1905, the pub on this site was called The Rising Sun, and it was here on March 10 of that year that Henry Augustus Mears and Frederick Parker founded Chelsea Football Club. Indeed, The Butcher's Hook hosted the Chelsea FC centennial celebration shortly after it opened in February 2005. Wonderfully, none of this history is apparent in the pub. We arrived for a Saturday lunch to find the main room la
Fabulous afternoon. Polite and friendly staff, good service, excellent beer. Modern decor.
We were made to feel very welcome and will most certainly be going back. As a disabled person access was easy and the seating was both modern and comfortable. The food was tasty if just a little overcooked.
Great spot across from Stamford Bridge stadium. It also has a great deal of history, being the place where Chelsea was formed in name. The food was excellent too. They have a nice selection from vegan to full on carnivore. If you’re here on a Sunday try the roast. I had the lamb & it was fantastic. My sun had the fish & chips and my wife had a veggie burger. We all enjoyed our lunch here.
Stopped here for lunch after a Stamford Bridge stadium store. They had space for 6 of us (+ dog friendly!) which was great as we hadn’t pre booked and lots of other pubs in the area seemed to close for food by 3pm on a Saturday. Staff were friendly and helpful, they even brought over a bowl of water for my friend’s dog and extra gravy at no cost! Went for the steak pie which was really delicious and piping hot, surpassed expectations as it definitely didn’t seem like a frozen meal. Interesting history too around Chelsea and how the club was formed at the pub.

Great place for food & drink lively atmosphere & friendly staff.
This is the best pub in Fulham, my local. Antoaneta the land lady is an absolute Star, so welcoming and always looks after us. I love all the bar staff just like family to us. Good times and allways have good laugh. Can’t recommend more 😃
I was down in London for a number of weeks working and in the evenings this was the place we ate at 90% of the time, with the only other time eating elsewhere to see if we could find anywhere else but always we came back to The Butchers Hook.
The atmosphere of the pub was amazing, super cozy and chilled out and after a long day we’d find ourselves looking forward to a nice meal and wetting the whistle.
The staff were certainly a great help to making it such a great place to eat at and be in the evenings, always happy to help with any questions, prompt and courteous service at the bar and quickly making and bringing your meals.
Consistently excellent meals and very very reasonable prices for London, plenty to choose from as well and always great portions and of high quality.
Very good choice for drinks, plenty of beers and real ales on tap, wines to choose from and countless choices of spirits and liqueurs.
Thank you for the many evenings we spent there, it was one of if not the best pub I’ve ever been to.
Great boozer located directly opposite Stamford Bridge so ideal if you want to meet up before or after a match. Can be very busy on match days and you have to be able to prove that you are a Chelsea supporter.
Really lovely feel to this pub, chilled relaxed . All the staff are efficient and friendly. The manager give the place a touch of home .
Best pub in Fulham with the most wonderful landlady in Antoinette. Food was fantastic with lovely outdoor seating too... they also show all the football and major sporting events on 3 tvs
Had an amazing roast dinner here, one of the best I’ve had in the area! Dog friendly and the service was great. I even got given a Mother’s Day discount for the next time I visit because they loved my dog. Had a really good time here and would highly recommend.
Lovely food nice staff clean right opposite chelsea Hotel
This was the original pub that first started off Chelsea Football Club, popped in here for a pre match drink, got served quite quickly, haven’t tried the food yet but I’m sure it won’t be disappointed. Prices are very reasonable too for a London pub
Went for Chelsea vs Wolves on the 22/23 season, atmosphere was amazing, given that we weren’t that sh*t back then.
Amazing food!! Honestly the best pub food of restaurant quality, I have found in London!! Highly recommend!
I simply love the cask beers here, so good. Food is typial British pub food but very good. Perfect place prior to a Chelsea game, don't miss it. And, opposing team not allowed in!
