I've come here many times with friends and family now and I've never had any major problems - only had positive experiences at all times.
The food is beyond delicious - my favourite would be their ika natto (and all of their sushi and sashimi) and the bento boxes that have the best of everything on offer.
The menus are a bit confusing to deal with but it really doesn't deduct anything from the experience you have in the restaurant, since the food is so good and is such good value - much better than other sushi bars around that charge sky-high prices for tiny portions.
At Eat Tokyo you have two options: either you go for for sushi and your job is a bit easier, or you go with an open mind and get help from the waiters. The menu is SO extensive that I really struggle to understand what to order.
Sushi was all I wanted, and even then I still had plenty of choice: from rolls, to temaki, to sashimi, to nigiri... infinite combinations! What it lacks in presentation, is definitely balanced by its quality. The tuna and salmon sashimi and all the rolls I tried made my tastebuds very happy!
Other than that, I also tried the mussels (a pleasant surprise) and the tempuras which, let's face it, don't leave room for much disappointment.
The waiter wasn't the most helpful, as she took a while to get us sited despite tables were available, and ended up mixing one of the orders... but I must admit that they were very kind to serve us a very late dinner (10pm).
All in all, a great value sushi restaurant which I will keep visiting whenever I need to kill my frequent sushi cravings.
Friendly staff, huge variety of food in the menu and big portions of food are my fav things about this place. Went there with 3 other friends, and we all agree it's not the "best" food (although i only had the ramen) but it has a really great price/quality ratio, which is ok :)
Eat Tokyo has a great quality sushi and so chip. We usually pay like 15£/person with drinks. It's a delicious option for who don't want spend much money.
Good Japanese food! Menu is huge and it was in a really random order and a bit overwhelming. But once we ordered and the food came it was huge portions for very good prices. I would come back here again. Staff were quite attentive.
Great Japanese food. I ordered salmon teriyaki - very well presented and delicious.
If you are going to this place, i recommend not paying serious attention to the bad looking neighboring joints.
This place in fact is for most of the times buzzing and you might encounter a waiting queue.
But i have go to say they serve some the best Japanese dishes at great price! The portions too make the value for money amazing.
I would advise trying the Bento box.
Its a simple place serving good huge meals. Their sushi dishes are good and also particularly i am really impressed with their bento boxes consisting a full hearty meal which you would probably wont be able to finish in one go. Service is also quick and efficient. I would recommend it!
Such friendly staff. The food is delicious. They've got the real japanese taste, which I've been looking for ever since I came to London without much luck. Love, love, love this place
Very nice Japanese restaurant! They offer polite and efficient service, as well as tasty Japanese food that is all reasonably priced! Can't recommend this place highly enough!
One of the most authentic Japanese restaurant you can find in London. Sashimi is fresh and top rated for its price, portion is very generous, a Toro Jyu has over 10 big piece for only £22 I’ll say that’s a steal. However, avoid Highball, the most diluted alcohol I’ve ever had.
Small and very busy shop, you’ll not get in if you’re not book in advance or come to the shop earlier.
The decorations are very much like shops you will see in small retail street in Japan 2nd tier city like Kumamoto or Ehime.
Staff is polite enough, direct, efficient and no bullsh!t, don’t try to chitchat with them, they’re so busy and will walk away without hesitation, very nostalgic like you visit 澳牛 in HK if you know what I mean.
I’ll definitely go again when I’m in London.
Great place, no need to prebook, you can easily find seats if you go just before 6pm.
We ordered their Gyu and Don, and 3 starters (Age Tofu, duck, Miso Aubergine), so many choices to choose from. All the food we ordered were brilliant for the taste and portion, we were stuffed afterwards. Staffs were Japanese robe, and some Japanese also dine in here, highly recommend for its taste and pricing in central London. Plum wine was very well made too.
Going to try their bento box next time.
Loved the food - great to get excellent Japanese food in London. The restaurant is well presented and clean. The service was really good. Can definitely recommend and I hope to eat here again.
I had the pleasure of visiting this place based on my friend's recommendation. The ambiance was great, the service was good, and the overall experience was great . I'm so happy we decided to go there, and I'll definitely be returning.
Overall, I wouldn’t say that the food is that good since there are definitely better Japanese restaurants in London. However, with the comparatively low price you’re paying for Japanese food in London, the portion sizes are massive which makes it more worth it. Come here for cheap eats with large portions.
You better call beforehand and book your table of you don't want to wait to be seated. The food is amazing and the staff are quite friendly, although not as accommodating as Filipino hospitality. Attached herewith are some of their food.
Fresh foods and staffs are friendly. I personally think that the foods taste better than the other branch I went before. Would be coming back here again.
Eat Tokyo is always great, consistently across all branches. Its recognised as an officially accredited Japanese restaurant.
Our sushi boat was perfect today and the portions are always generous. The staff were incredibly welcoming.
Expect long queues if you forget to book in advance.
It's my second time to eat Tokyo. The first time restuarant was the soho branch. I feel this branch in Hammersmith is alot better in terms of service and food quality. I like the fact if they have tables available they will try there best to accommodate you.
In this visit we ordered
Bento pork cutlet
Salmon and chicken teriyaki bento
Soft shell 🦀
Eat toyko never disappoints. Assuming restaurant group that employs authentic Japanese chefs producing good food and for great value.
Proper Japanese food, and great value food. Staff are lovely and have a real care about their work.
It’s a second EatTokyo that I’ve been too! And it’s great!!! Very welcoming and observing staff! Food is high quality and it’s being served fairly quickly!!

Tried 3 different bentos, oyster, ton katsu, and salmon teriyaki. We would rate those between 5-7 out of 10 with the oyster being the 7 but still very extra deep fried, ton katsu second, and salmon being the 5/10. Also tried several sushi. Would rate those a 7-8/10, good value for money. Would go back just for the sushi. Efficient service and quick turnaround of people. It’s an in - and - out concept so you get treated this way which was in line with my expectations. I would rate this between 3-4 stars but going with 4 cause I would give it another chance. They have a HUGE menu (book) so lots to try
My friend and I had a great dinner tonight at this lovely restaurant. The quality of the food was absolutely outstanding, the service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and kind. I personally was shocked when we received the bill, it was quite cheap for everything in our order.
In the end, I would like to thank the restaurant for providing us with the best possible experience. You’ve got new two customers! ^_^
