Been here twice during our little holiday in London. Outstanding food. Waiter is just great. Busy and large pub. High ceilings in hammered metal. Wood throughout.

❤️ An Absolute Stunner.
The Prince Alfred is located in leafy Maida Vale where North and West London meet. The nearest Tube station is Warwick Avenue, it’s a three minute walk to get here.
This stunning pub was built in 1856 and is Grade II* listed. This pub is deemed so precious that recently it was upgraded from Grade II to Grade II*. When you see the decoration of this gorgeous structure, it is easy to see why. The pub was featured in David Bowie’s Grammy Award-winning short film “Jazzin’ For Blue Jean”. Codebreaker and computer pioneer Alan Turing was born next door.
The interior of this pub is one of the most beautiful you will come across anywhere in London. You may have seen in a few other posts or read about 'Snob Screens'. This pub is one of around eight pubs in England that still retain an authentic original set from the Victorian era. The purpose of a Snob Screen was to allow middle class drinkers to see working class drinkers in an adjacent bar, but not to be seen by them. Other impressive features include ornate carved woodwork, finely-etched glazing, colourful tilework, mosaic flooring and hanging lamps.
The Prince Alfred has a peninsula-style servery surrounded by all of its original five drinking compartments, each with its own external entrance.
At the rear of the main bar is the Formosa Dining Room, if you head downstairs you’ll find an atmospheric cellar with cosy booths.
This @youngspubs had a good beer selection, I ordered a pint of Pravha, my pint was lovely with an average price point. There is an elevated traditional pub grub menu available, Roasts are very popular here on a Sunday.
I visited with family on a warm summer evening back in June. The pub was both busy inside and out. The punters were a mix of locals and a fair few having a beer after watching the cricket at nearby Lords. The service was friendly and courteous.

@theprincealfredpub is a marvellous jaw dropping historic pub that needs to be put at the top of your must visit list, simply stunning.

Come here as often as I can. Beautiful authentic pub that feels modern but keeps it's old skool appeal. The low doorways are unique and a challenge for those carrying their drinks .... Good luck. Also a large cellar area that looks amazing.
Wonderful old pub with modern British food with very high quality. We loves the Scottish Egg, the scallops and the Sausages.
I liked the updated version of British food, and the service was a 10. Will come back, as Jose, the chef always surprises you with a day recommendation
This is the place to enjoy good food and drinks. A local neighborhood pub and hang out for many. While visiting, we went back twice! The chef is a master at his craft.
Fantastic local pub! A bit different with its cubicles. Excellent food. The manager & staff are super lovely especially Ava, Ami & Manzi Louis Ollie Chesca
Shout out to Louis, Thomas and Miguel thanks to whom we had attentive and friendly service and amazing food. This was our first time here, I researched nice pubs in the area to go with some friends from abroad, and we enjoyed one of the best roasts I had in London plus delicious starters and dessert. The venue itself has a classy pub vibe and it's not crammed, great light from the skylight, and a short walk from the canal.
I do prefer my roasties and crackling crunchy, but that's just me! We're definitely going back.

Spent a lazy afternoon at this pub that began with one of the best Sunday roasts I've eaten. Everything on my plate was delicious and I'm certain to pop in again when I can. The coffee was also very good. I loved the warm and cozy ambience. The place wasn't noisy, which was wonderful, relaxing, and just great for a nice conversation. The two gentlemen who entertained us and made sure we had everthing we needed were the friendliest and warmest. I can't believe after years of living in the neighbourhood, we only popped in now!
My second time being there and another fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious, I never imagined sausage and mash could taste like that... and the Eton Mess was divine. Service was impeccable, a real joy, and the surroundings are beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
Right away I would like to mention the staff. I have not met such polite and pleasant waiters for a very long time. I really enjoyed interacting with them.
Food and drink - everything was excellent. No complaints or remarks at all.
And the atmosphere, of course, is excellent. It is a bit noisy, but that is normal for this kind of place.
Dog friendly.
