Interesting and delicious flavours. The sundaes and waffles are top notch. Generous portions and well priced. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone with a sweet tooth!

My ice cream expert friend recommended it so I had to give it a go. To be clear, I’m a person who likes simple ice cream and avoids twists because of fear of disappointment. Gelupo did not disappoint! I loves the mix of flavors! They were so good and fulfilling! Recommended!

Amazing selection of flavours. Doesn’t fail to disappoint, even on a cold day! One that really stood out to me last time I went was an Earl Grey-Hazelnut-Chocolate flavour, but every time I’ve been, I’ve really enjoyed it.

It was quite late at night but the queue was still long, so I was convinced enough that the gelato should be that famous and good if people were willing to queue for 10-15 minutes. The pistacchio wasn’t disappointing at all, the texture was very smooth and the flavour was pleasing. Finished the whole scoop in less than 10 minutes.

I have a new favourite gelato place in London. And I’m not the only fan. One of the busiest gelaterias in central London is Gelupo. Gelupo has only one store, and that’s in Soho. That is already a good sign. Why do I like this place? The gelatos have immense flavour, they come in a variety of revered and unusual flavour combinations and the soft, creamy texture is great. It is very melty, so make sure to eat up quick. The Island Poke (pineapple and chilli) sorbet has a wild kick worth trying, but my preference is in the gelatos. Of that, the ricotta and sour cherry is my favourite. They offer samples, although the salted caramel never disappoints. I can’t remember the name of the rich, chocolately flavour one I had – that seemed to have doses of everything and is an extremely indulgent dessert. Almost like a gelato fondant. Prices are fair, £3 ,£4, £5 for one, two or three scoops, and although there’s a queue at busy times it is always worth the wait.

Went here with my friend and we chose the double scoops which are Bonet & Bitter Chocolate. Actually this combination reminds me of nutella, bcs Bonet itself is very hazelnutty and the bitter chocolate sorbet has a very strong dark chocolate taste.
Overall it was really good, rich, and soft:)

Gelupo is the dessert daughter to the Italian Soho Restaurant Boca Di Lupo. Typical Italian Gelateria design- similar to Piccolina Gelateria in Melbourne, Australia. The staff are are all Italian and so very friendly- happy to have a chat! The gelato is amazing, fresh, creamy and delicious! Reminded us of Piccolina's gelato back home.

TIP: Do try the Ricotta & Black Cherry- amazing! Don't forget to try the specials, our favourite- Lavender with White Chocolate!

Gelupo's gelato compared against the gelato from 34 other London gelateria. The results were illuminating.
Gelupo is a spin-off of highly regarded Italian restaurant Bocca di Lupo. There are two branches within close proximity of each other in Soho – one directly opposite Bocca di Lupo itself and another within the same premises as Vico, Bocca’s sister restaurant. Although the Vico branch is larger, I actually prefer the smaller original as the staff there tend to be far friendlier.

We all know Soho as a dining hotspot with so much choice that at times, it takes longer to decide where to eat than the actual meal itself. Recently though, thanks to Jennifer from @chocolatetours, I've also discovered that Soho also has a under-appreciated ice cream scene and I want to take this opportunity to highlight them.

From the team that brought us Bocca di Lupo, Gelupo gelato is as artisan as they come, keeping to traditional methods whilst sourcing quality ingredients both locally and from Italy. Flavours here are as delicious as they are vast with my personal favourites being the pistachio flavour, the hazelnut and the Crema 101.

However, always keep a look out for special flavours because they are usually pretty special.

One of the best ice cream and gelato places that need to be on your London list! I have no photos of the ice cream as I am always too much of a pig and forget to take photos. Their chocolate sorbet is my favourite flavour and they also do these mini cones which means I end up buying 2-3 of them in one go!

Note: They have recently opened a branch on No 1 Cambridge Circus London, WC2H 8AP. So be sure to visit them there!

P.S: They also own Bocca Di Lupo opposite which is on my list of restaurants to go to but some how keeps getting pushed down the list. Damn you London and the crazy amount of food joints.

Summer’s coming! Which in my book only means one thing: ice cream! And I think I might just have found London’s finest!

Gelupo is a cute little ice cream parlour down Archer Street and was opened by the team behind always-packed Italian restaurant Bocca di Lupo. Saying those guys know their gelato would be quite an understatement.

The ice cream is truly excellent (probably the best in London if you ask me) and I can only urge you to try the Blood Orange sorbet as it is a signature flavour and my absolute favourite.

"To love eating is to love life, and to love cooking is to love giving pleasure to other people" is the philosophy of Jacon Kenedy, the founder of Gelupo which is located in the heart of Soho. This love for cooking comes through at the quirky ice cream parlour which gives outstanding flavours in all its desserts. My preference at the shop is the Pastatio and Hazelnut Gelato. The shop doesn't only provide little portions either, if a scoop won't do you justice, you can take a tub home. The Italien ice cream shop is well worth a visit, whatever the weather.

Fantastic Ice cream. This place is well worth seeking out as the ice cream is brilliant.

The location - down a grotty side street in Soho is strange. But I promise that Gelupo is worth navigating Soho's grubby streets full of seedy strip clubs and sex shops.

An imaginative range of gelati, sorbets and granitas awaits you inside the bright and airy interior and the super friendly staff are happy to let you sample the range and suggest flavour combinations.

My favourites were the blood orange granita, the avocado and honey gelati. And if you have a special occasion I suggest picking up a Lucky dip ice cream ball - a combination of 2 complementary flavours of ice cream surrounded by a shell of dark chocolate. ... yum !

Gelupo is a proper little Italian ice cream parlour with a great and constantly varying selection of delicious ice creams. There's only one word to describe this place and that is: cute. I went traditional and chose a scoop of the Hazelnut with a scoop of the Pistachio, whilst Stuart was slightly more adventurous with a scoop of Lemon and a scoop of a flavour called Bonet, described on the whiteboard as chocolate with coffee, egg yolks, rum, caramel, amaretti biscuits and vanilla. Naturally I pinched a spoonful so I could try and it was delicious, almost changing flavour as you eat it this ice cream hits you with the boozy rum at the beginning and goes down tasting rich and chocolatey.

Oh God. Please make them take the Bitter Chocolate off the menu. As well as the Bonet (chocolate amaretti, coffee and rum). And the Bacio – milk chocolate and hazelnut. All of it frankly. For this was the finest chocolate ice-cream I’ve tasted since that one years ago, in St John in Clerkenwell, which still resides in my taste memory, as a thing of sheer intense beauty.

Better if this had been mediocre, frankly, because I can see that I’m going to have to find all sorts of excuses to swing by. I might, perhaps talk of their lovely, interesting cookbook selection, or their small but perfect display of artisanal goods. Or even say that I want a cup of their fine coffee. But you will know the truth, reader. I’m doomed.

During the sunny weekend that we had in London last week, there was a buzz of activity happening in Soho, specifically at the Soho Parish School . The outdoor area was opened for the Soho Food Feast which was organized by Margot Henderson of Rochelle Canteen. The feast was organized to raise funds for the school which promotes healthy eating to its pupils. It has gotten quite a supportive backing from its neighbourhood restaurants which see the likes of Polpo, Koya, Wright Brothers and Hix amongst others coming out to support this worthy cause. Good food, awesome weather and most of all, doing my bit for charity was a great way to spend the Saturday afternoon. Classic flavours sit next to unexpected combinations at Gelupo - don't be afraid to try both (but don't forget that the menu changes every day!). For coffee and gelato, it really is some of the best in London. You will almost definitely leave with a recipe book, something from the deli or some little piece of culinary equipment from the shop... everything is equally tempting.

I had mixed feelings while ordering gelato from here, thinking that it wouldn't compare to an authentic Italian gelato, regardless of who made it. But I was proved wrong.

Of course, I had to try my favourite flavour (Pistachio) to compare, and I have to say, they did a pretty good job! For the few minutes I was there (seating is limited so we had to have it as a takeaway) it was like being back in Italy.

They also sell unique flavours e.g ricotta and sour cherry and sorbets, which I presume are equally as tasty. Definitely worth the wait in line. I normally go to Gelupo after eating at a restaurant in Chinatown as they are only a few minutes away from each other.

One of the most delicious ice creams in London

I am real ice cream eater and I enjoyed trying 5 different ice creams from this great “Gelateria”.

The staff is very friendly and you can taste all ice creams before choosing them for your waffle cone.

The great plus point here is the nice small park nearby.

Enjoying your ice cream there between the green old trees makes it even more delicious.

Finally, the portion is very large for its price! They also have “granite” which is a typical south Italy dessert.

People who say that money doesn't buy happiness obviously haven't tried Gelupo before.

Since my first visit, I've probably visited around ten times and have told every person who wants to listen to me rant about food that they "have to visit". In fact, I am even the proud owner of a Gelupo loyalty card :) It's only taken me this long to write a post about it because every time I go there I just dig into my gelato and all my worries and thoughts melt away (pun intended).

To me, Gelupo is the jack-of-all-trades- it has everything you'd ever want in an gelateria. It's tucked right at the end of a little street in the heart of Piccadilly Circus, and when you step into the pastel-blue hued shop you're immediately hit by the fragrant aroma of coffee brewing and the sweet smell of sugar. Gelupo sells a variety of coffees, sandwiches, and cakes- but their main claim to fame is obviously their gelato, which they do so, so well. It blows every ice cream, every gelato I've ever tried out of the water...which has its unfortunate consequences as it means that I can never really fully appreciate ice cream anymore without first comparing it to what Gelupo has to offer!

Gelupo offers a wide range of gelatos and sorbets which are changed around on a regular basis depending on season. One of the things I like most about Gelupo is that they are adventurous with their flavours- but not to the extent that it just becomes weird, unlike some other ice cream flavours I've tried before (such as curry...!). Instead, flavours such as ricotta chocolate + black pepper, bergamot, rhubarb, blood orange and peanut butter are offered, where you can truly taste each individual ingredient. My personal favourite is the traditional pistachio - it has an amazingly rich, intense pistachio flavour and a smooth, creamy texture. I don't know how they manage to fit in so much flavour into a little cup of gelato- but Gelupo's website puts it this way, and I couldn't agree more:

"Take our raspberry gelato. It tastes more of raspberries than raspberries, it sings of the fruit, not drowned in sugar or diluted with water."

The portions aren't huge, but you can have two flavours in a small cup, topped with a crispy waffle circle (you can ask for extras too, I've tried :P ) There is usually a queue when you go in but it moves along pretty speedily and you get to try as many flavours as you want to before making a final selection - although why bother when every flavour is just as delicious as the next?

In short, GO TO GELUPO. You won't regret it!

*I am not sponsored by Gelupo despite the high praise, but definitely wouldn't mind if I was sent a tub (or two or three) to review ;)

The cherry on the top of the Lupo cake is right across the road from the restaurant. The owner and chefs at Boca di Lupo have opened London's best gelateria right across the road - Gelupo - to put their great minds to work and come up with a selection of fresh gelati every day. Geddit? Boca Di Lupo and Gelupo? Fogedaboutit.

Inside you are able to taste any or all of their ice cream, sorbet and granitas (they will literally take you through all the flavours by spoonful until you have made your choice). Click here to see today's contemporary take on traditional flavours.

They also have an attached deli selling beautiful hand made sausages, salamis and pasta sauces if you don't want to go the whole hog in the restaurant. They also offer the same sommelier chosen wines to pick-up as they are often hard to find bottles.

So I urge you to visit one of the restaurants of London that I hold in high regard and give dessert a miss so you can wander the streets of Soho with a delicious gelati (or granite if I have my way).

Fantastic gelato/sorbet selection. Not the typical flavours which makes it nice and interesting to try, better than chain gelato places like Amorino. I tried Charentais Melon & Watermelon Sorbet, very refreshing and good quality waffle style cone. Price wise on the more expensive side given it's central London location with one scoop £4.50 and two scoops £6. But the 500g tub seemed quite reasonably priced compared to other places I've been to. Would go back to try other flavours.
