Literally stumbled across this while searching for gluten free options in the Westminster area yesterday lunchtime. We were welcomed by lovely staff who took the time to show us anything that was suitable for gluten intolerance or could be adapted. Didn't make us feel like the nuisance to the kitchen some other places frequently do so we both managed to have a wonderful 3 course meal that was imaginative, of a high standard - not to mention tasty and excellent value for money in a truly beautiful historical setting. The staff were thoughtful, helpful and incredibly friendly and ensured our experience here was one we would most definitely wish to repeat. Thank you.
I went there with my 3 sons and my eldest sons girlfriend. 2 of us had the afternoon tea the other 3 had the set meal. All the food was very very good, and we had a great time the venu is lovely. We travelled from Brighton by train so a very straight forward 15 min from the station was stress free. I would recommend it highly.
Lovely place lovely atmosphere lovely people ! The food was amazing and more than enough per person fresh and colouful.
Wonderful food, wonderful service. Highly recommend the blackberry almond cake.
We went here for a late breakfast on a Saturday. Got a table easily. Service was a little slow. Service charge is included on the bill. Food was good and a great price for central London. Will be going there again
Beautiful setting. We had a delicious afternoon tea. The pastries were especially good.
It felt like I’d stumbled on a local’s secret haunt.. The waiters were greeted by some regular customers with hugs and excited chatter about how each other’s family members are doing, they remembered their usual orders and gave absolutely attentive and personal service. Doesn’t mean that I felt left out as a first timer at all! I was promptly seated and my order was taken; I opted for the Roast Lamb and a glass of Prosecco. The setting is truly beautiful, I really enjoyed the prints on the walls and the arched ceiling. The food was delicious, served hot and fresh, and the Prosecco nice and cold. To round my meal off, I had the Brownie Sundae. I’ll definitely be back for brunch and Sunday Roast in the future, as well as for when I’ve got guests staying with me and I want to treat them to something that isn’t the usual tourist fodder.
Really good quality and value afternoon tea and they managed to cope with a big party
Le cadre la qualité des plats l'accueil : tout était au RDV. Bravo !
Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the tourist throng and enjoy good food including afternoon tea. Cakes are ace! The upstairs conservatory area looks over the church roofs

you discover, explore and learn. Do you still remember the amazement you felt as a child when you first discovered something? . Our breakfast at Westminster. Abbey's Cellarium Cafe has lead me to the Corridors of Westminster Abbey. Amazed at. my discovery, I slowly walked down the corridor like a curious child
I stopped by here after my visit to Westminster abbey.there was queues to get in here at lunch and tea time .the food was tasty and atmosphere was warm and lovely
Coming here on my visit to the Westminster abbey. Beautiful cafe, nice food. I did not like a lot the desert but nice ambient.
Food was delicious and well presented. Maybe need more staffs to make service quicker!
We had afternoon tea and it was wonderful! The staff was friendly and accommodating as well.
For a warm, hearty afternoon lunch on a chilly day, the Cellarium Café & Terrace checked my boxes. I could hardly finish the entire order, even with the help of my dining companion!
I chose the orzo pasta, mixed leaves salad, with heritage tomatoes and avocado, a vegan-friendly option. Mostly salad and vegetable with some orzo pasta sprinkled in for texture and flavor, I savored the results. The balsamic dressing blended with the juicy tomato and hearty avocado to produce a thoroughly filling entrée. I also sampled some of my traveling companion's Mushroom Soup of the Day, which carried a warm, hearty, granulated texture--perfect for a cold day in March.
On the side, my traveling companion and I split the Cream Tea, which, in my opinion, is the Cellarium's real show-stopper. Simple and sweet, the scones carry an almost biscuit-like texture with soft interiors and lightly crusted exteriors. Spread with buttery clotted cream and fruity-tart jam, they went down beautifully over sips of earthy English Breakfast tea.
If you're touring Westminster Abbey, the Cellarium serves as an excellent luncheon grounds, if, for nothing else, because the space dates back to the 4th century where the monks kept their stores of food and drink. That, and you're helping to support the establishment itself, which ought to make every bite a bit sweeter and more savory.
A somewhat hidden gem. The public entrance was through Dean's Yard, a private home living area, but just let the guard know you're going to the Cellarium. We were seated about 9 AM on a Tuesday morning in a beautiful room. We both had the bacon sandwich with fried egg added. It was wonderful. The bread itself was soft and perfect for me. There was plenty of bacon too. Sounds like a simple sandwich, but it was just really good! I loved this little off the usual trail restaurant.
We came for the Coronation Tea. The atmosphere was lovely, and the room is refreshingly cool on a very hot day. Our server was great. Loved the tea selection. My husband had Earl Grey and I had the Ginger and Lemon. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious, except for the chicken with celeriac slaw, which was a little harsh for my tastebuds, and the sweet pea and lemon cake was a bit dry and tasteless. It may have been an off day for those two items. Regardless, we walked away pleasantly satisfied.
I went in January and ordered a quiche when my group went after a tour of Westminster Abbey. Quiche was quite good, but sort of expensive. The chips I stole from my group members were quite good as well. I love the vaulted ceilings and cozy, dim environment. I would go to other restaurants in London before this but it is certainly not a bad choice if you want to stay around Westminster Abbey!
This place seriously ticks all the boxes! Gorgeous architecture, delicious food, friendly staff. Shoutout to superstar Hannah who was so lovely and made sure I had the option of moving from a shared table to a single table when it became available! Definitely keen to go back 🥰
We booked the Coronation Afternoon Tea as a birthday present and it was a memorable one. We were directed immediately upstairs so we didn't have to queue with the crowd who were trying to get into the cafe downstairs.
Our lovely waiter Karolina looked after us with a big smile from start to finish. The Afternoon Tea selection was plentiful and delicious with sweet and savory selections. The portion sizes were huge and we had to take away some of the food!
Seated in the bright and beautiful area upstairs gave us a lovely view of the Abbey through the skylight. Overall, really pleased to have booked this afternoon tea in conjunction with the Coronation. Birthday girl was super chuffed!
To say this is in Westminster Abbey it didn't feel too opportunistic with tourist prices, we had great service and the food was delicious and came quickly. They do what they can in a very busy environment to get people seated quickly and the atmosphere was great
Afternoon tea is a wonderful experience here. Scones are tasty, tea is fresh, and service is friendly. A lovely way to spend an afternoon visiting with my family.
This restaurant has a very calm vibes, I enjoy to have the breakfast here very much.
