One of my London favourites. I've been here three times and every time I've been so pleased by the delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly service. Both the pasta and pizza are amazing, and the risotto balls are the best starter. It has a casual relaxed atmosphere and funky vibe. Great restaurant for a date with affordable prices.
I got taken here on Friday night by a friend who goes here regularly.
The staff were extremely friendly and agreed to serve even though it was 11:15 and the kitchen was closing.
We ordered both a pasta dish and a pizza and I was amazed at the size, taste and overall freshness of the food!
Would definitely recommend and will be going back!!
Great find. You cant ask for a better italian restaurant. Must go
Welcoming. I was meeting a friend over from Australia. I looked up to find a restaurant near the British Museum on Urbanspoon. We didn't manage to get to La Porchetta until 2.55pm this afternoon (we didn't know that the chef stops serving at 3pm). The owner was very welcoming and asked the chef if he could serve us food (the restaurant was emptying) - and he did and we had a beautifully prepared meal. We were impressed by the welcome and the quality of the food for a very reasonable price.
Great food, friendly and unobtrusive staff but still attentive. Started with deep fried mozzerelllo balls with pesto mayonnaise them superb pasta dish -with minced pork, porcini in a slught chili sauce
Great find. Quiet and off the beaten track, this is a great find. Delicious food, well priced, with excellent fast service. Go there!
Possibly the busiest & best Italian in London!. This place is Italy - mad, passionate, frenetic, moody, stylish, delicious all at the same time! Every Staff member seems to be Italian, which is a good thing.
It's always busy and the food is worth the effort to seek out this little piece of Italy. Huge authentic pizzas, no stuffed crust here (PIzza Hut is down the road). Pasta to die for, the Carbonara is superb. If you need Italian food, this is the place to head for. The prices are extremely reasonable too - a bonus!
...One of the best Italian restaurants in London so far. This is of course if you have no hesitation eating in a place which has pictures of little porkers all over the place (pink pig clock, pink pig chef in full chef costume on wall, little piggy silhouettes in a row on the window). I suggest you brave it anyhow, and try this place out. Before you continue, this is a VERY long post. With about 8 tables on the ground floor, and probably similar numbers in the lower ground floor, this restaurant would fit about 50 people at a time. My experience here was so fabulous, I almost wanted to ask the waitresses where they'd hidden the queue of customers. Not that you'd ask the waitresses anything. The 2 of them were quite scary in a whaddya-wanna-have and throw-the-menu way of scary. Like they'd had some training at the Chinatown School of Waitressing. And was top of the class. Thing is,
Food aside, the main thing is so Italian fresh pasta all the sauces and a wide selection of pizzas. Pizzas are absolutely huge and very well stocked, for less than £ 10 parts. Small negative key for wine card Roses too light (only 2 choices) as often elsewhere in the English restaurant.
If you really have the slab and you find yourself on Angel with an Italian feel, La Porchetta is a very good value for money!
Lovely place just off of Queen Square near to both Russell Square or Holborn tube stations. Had lunch here and we shared a pizza with deep fried mozzarella, was great. The place is small but there is seating downstairs. Staff are very nice and they do also offer lunch specials.
It was getting busy when we were there but no wait for our food.
Very reasonably priced and will be back again.
Awesome pasta with aubegine , tomato , chilli and onion..
Great staff! Sarah will take care of you.
Lovely little place, food is amazing especially the garlic bread, reasonably priced. Staff are all really nice. Would definitely come again
One of my favourite Italian restaurants in London, very reasonably priced and very good quality of food considering its a chain. The tiramisu is a little disappointing but the mains are all always delicious.
A real Italian gem on a back Street in Holborn food top quality service really good. Must be an Italian chef, grate atmosphere very relaxing restaurant.
Great food and service. A little gem around the corner to GOSH. Planning to go back later this week.
Decent Italian fare very nearby GOSH, so if you’re visiting the hospital, this is a good choice.
Great place. Good food for price. And never to busy
Giant Calzone. Super tasty. Very friendly. Nothing much to add after that.
