Booked a table for six at Mango Bottoms upon arrival we was greeted and shown our table and offered drinks. All the staff were friendly and polite and the music playing in the restaurant was great too. Now onto the food the food was truly on point. I recommend the curried goat and saltfish fritters. Our party of six enjoyed the jerk chicken, prawns, sea bass, Macaroni cheese along with plantain. We also recommend the Bhama Mama cocktails(make sure you're not driving). Thank you Mango Bottoms we will be visiting again in the near future.

We visited Mango Bottoms for a family birthday celebration. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the music added a nice vibe. The menu had all of the Caribbean classics. We ordered Akwa (salt fish fritters), curry goat, oxtail, garlic prawns, jerk chicken and we were not disappointed! The portions were generous and the food was delicious - tasted like real home cooking. A great addition to Balham!!

We visited Mango Bottoms for a surprise pre Fathers Day which was booked by my wife. From the moment we entered till the moment we left, we felt very welcomed. The ambience was lovely, it felt like a home away from home. The food was fantastic and the customer service was exceptional. Nothing was too much for the staff to assist with. Would highly recommend this place to any of my friends and fellow St. Lucians. I will definitely be back with the Lucian Cavalry. #MicoudMassive#

My sister booked to have a family dinner here for Mothers day as it is close to our mums house and being from the Caribbean thought she would enjoy the food. We were not disappointed. we were a big, multi-generation group and there was something for everyone. I had the salt fish fritter to start, which I loved. Then I had the jerk chicken, this came with rice and peas, macaroni cheese, plantain and coleslaw, the flavours were good and I always judge this food by, is it how my mum would cook it, and yes it was. I tasted my sisters jerk pork and that was very tender. My husband didn't want rice and they gave him extra chicken, which I though was great. The service was good and they were attentive, the food didn't all come out at the same time, but they kept us informed about this so didn't mind. It was also great value as it was 2 courses for £14.95 I would definitely recommend it and its great to see an independant, local open this kind of restaurant in Balham which has changed so much over the years. I wish them every success and will definitely be back!

Best Caribbean restaurant food I've had! Mango Bottoms delivered a fantastic above and beyond experience for my Grandad's 80th surprise birthday dinner. The food was delicious/faultless and had guests raving about it so much that several have already made plans to return. The staff were warm and welcoming adding to the pleasant experience.

Went there yesterday and wasn't expecting much because of the usual reputation of a West Indian restaurant but Damn!!! from the first mouthful I was pleasantly impressed. Probably the best rice & peas I have taste (better than my mum's which is saying something). I strongly recommend the prawn mango curry with rice and peas.

So generally, I don't eat out because I no longer enjoy it, the food never has flavour and is dry (much prefer my home cooked meals). However I wanted to checkout Mango Bottoms in Balham, a restaurant owned by a St. Lucian woman... food was DELICIOUS!! So much flavour n care taken with the food. Staff were friendly n the vibe was nice- they were playing the tunes!! I recommend trying n SUPPORTING, u won't regret it!!

30 or 40 of us piled in for a retirement send-off and I haven't heard a complaint from anyone. Great food, great staff. Reasonable prices for location. Will definitely visit again.

Came here for a team meeting. Despite some of us arriving 30 minutes early and restaurant wasn't opened yet we were not left outside in the freezing cold rain but welcomed in. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Not one staff member passed by without greeting us. Loved the back ground music. Food was lovely. No complaints at all. Definitely would return. These ladies know how to make you feel welcome. Well done ladies. They also do take aways which is extremely useful to know. Loved the curry goat. Definitely recommend. 10/10.

Staff are very friendly. Went here for the first time and there was no logging waiting queue a nice selection of drinks, stuff that were very new to me (I had the vodka/raspberry flavoured drink). I don't usually go to Caribbean dining places but I would recommend this one. It has a great atmosphere, suitable for anyone, adults, kids, couples. Polite staff and good service.

Pro: Excellent authentic tastes of the Caribbean. Our plates were full. Dutty Wine Cocktail was superb! You could taste the rum and fruit....not like other places I have been to. Excellent meal for the price and great Reggae and soul music in the background. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and great hosts. Please support this restaurant as it is definitely value for money and deserves our support in order for it to grow from strength to strength. Con: I don't know what happened before opening but it created some confusion and arrangements were quite chaotic plus the dining area was cold and took some time to heat up but once food was shared and drinks were flowing things settled down and it was wonderful if not for that I would have scored 5 stars. Reccommended and I will definitely visit again as overall service and food was excellent! Thank you to the staff and chefs at Mango Bottoms!

Amazing . We went to Mango Bottoms on Sat 6th April to celebrate my "big" birthday. I had an awesome evening. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The owner came to check we were all happy which we were. The ambience was perfect and the food delicious. The portion sizes were great and everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was flavoursome, well cooked and the meat and fish was succulent and tender. The flavours were authentic to the Caribbean. The food was served hot and on time. Fabulous service. I highly reccomend this restaurant. Amazing atmosphere, service, food and value. We will definitely go back. This will be our West Indian restaurant of choice from now on. Loved It .

A warm welcome and very pleasant attentive staff. I celebrated my 50th Birthday there and all my party were happy with the food and drinks. Tasty fish fritters with just enough heat and gorgeous wings. Portions are huge and very filling. A simple menu but beautifully cooked and great tasting. Will definitely be back.

Great food as described on the menu. Nice decor, convivial atmosphere. Slow to serve and at bar. Poor party planning and low numbers of staff to serve a huge party. Hopefully better in the new year when a front of service manager starts.

Loved it! Went there for lunch today. I'm a vegan and they had a vegan chef and menu for the day! My meat eating friends loved their jerk chicken and rice n peas. Food was fresh and very tasty - so tasty we all had an extra portion of our dishes! Staff were friendly and engaging. Price was very reasonable giving the amounts of food and drinks ordered. Definitely recommend Mango Bottoms to family and friends.

Great atmosphere. Great staff. An establishment that provides drinks, music, food, and All right in between underground stations (Balham & Clapham South) as well as having bus links & other local conveniences. What more could you ask for? The staff here are amazing and this is a REALLY important aspect for me - in my experience there are too many uncharismatic staff in bars and restaurants Or, they're under the control/stress of "their brand". But that is where this bar flourishes! No stress is passed on to You. They want you to be comfortable, happy and relaxed. They have Life and Personality here, as well as being intuitive and respectful. A nice refreshing Bar experience you'll want to revisit.
