Much better place now the wobbly tables have gone. Staff always helpful however busy the establishment is. Great choice of beer, mainly keg. I no longer miss the graffitied walls.
small, but great selection of beers. the most important thing there is to drink good beers. don‘t expect other things . my place to be in london, to drink great craft beers.
Great beer selection and even better staff!! If you like beer you need to stop here in London. If people say "never heard of it" you are asking the wrong people. Seriously fun place find it.
Great beer with really helpful staff. Really enjoy their regular tap takeovers!
I visited here on Easter Thursday around 9:00, the place is small, cosy and on the right side of you thinking this is a bit strange, but I do like it! The bar main bar can't be more than 400 sq ft, so pretty small, the walls have tons of street art graffiti on them, giving it a nice, urban feel. The clientele on this Thursday evening were a mixture of suits, students and everything in between. Large choice of draught ales. Not sure about the bottles, but that looked pretty extensive too. Nice drinkers, nice helpful bar staff. Other people have recommended drinking just halves to get more choice, I'd agree. There's also am outside smoking area / decked area too. Can't wait for my next visit!
Great pub, great service and great beer. What more can you need?
Awesome pub, awesome beer! Now with even more taps too! Bring back breweries signing the walls though! It adds character!
Good choice of ales, four of them well-kept on handpulls. Conveniently located in Borough Market
I come up from Reigate, Surrey for ale whenever I can.Celebrate family birthdays &Fathers Day.etc.I am on my own when I arrive ,many new friends a hour later.
Great beer with lots of options from small breweries and many tap takeovers and similar events. A must visit if you’re in London.

Just went for some beers. Really liked the place. Located in Borough Market. Would definantly go back here
Fabulous wee craft beer bar in the corner of Borough Market, with a nice wee beer garden. Fantastic collection of ales and craft beer
Really good. 4 casks, 3 from Iron Pier Brewery in Northfleet/Gravesend and a cask cider, Seacider from Hassocks. I had the former's Best, which was excellent. Good value at £4.95. Wide range of others on keg, many from small breweries here and abroad.

Nice tap selection. Also some Trillium cans in the fridge was a good surprise.
Nothing fancy what comes to interior but that's secondary when the beer is in focus.
Located nicely in the corner of market area.
Great little place. Lots of choice on tap as well as bottles/cans. As I said its small but there is outdoor seating. Nice chilled out vibe. Will definitely return
No rating for food as I didn't eat there
A buzzy environment with a brilliant range of well kept beers. It is often a crowded busy place, and has a small bar, which seems to lend itself to some (not all) members of staff being, sometimes, rather terse and unsmiling. I'm sure they don't mean to be but it can come across as having a slightly superior attitude, which detracts from the enjoyment slightly.
Grab a beer at The Rake and chill out near Borough Market. Surprisingly quiet for how loud and crowded Borough can be, but don't expect a ton of frills or any food. Just a good, cold beer and a wooden bench+table.
Great for a quick pint while in Borough Market. Great selection of beers. Inc sometimes beer from the amazing @goodness brewery!
The Rake: the only real reason to come to Borough Market.
I’ve been making an annual pilgrimage for over 15 years. I come all the way from West London! Crazy right? But it’s all about the beer for me, and The Rake has some of the best around.
Unlike a more modern chain craft beer pub you could name, The Rake doesn’t serve truffle fries or Oreo Milkshakes for kids, but buy your choice of fancy food in a cardboard box from around the corner and sneak it into the beer garden, nobody minds. (I hope nobody minds. Maybe they do. I should probably ask some day.)
Recommended this pub by a friend who knows a bit about real ales. It's kind of hidden away off Borough Market, and the doorway is quite discrete, so might be slightly hard to find.
But, it does have a good selection of beers, and a small courtyard, where you can enjoy a pint on a sunny day.
One star removed, because they don't accept cash.
Found this little gem of a real ale pub whilst at Borough Market. Really good range of ales available. Recuperated here for a while enjoying a couple of Stouts 😊.
Absolutely recommended if you love your ales
Always nice to come back to The Rake. First visit in around 4 years and it's comfortingly familiar.
Still a good selection of beers on tap but doesn't seem to have nearly as many in cans/bottles.
All good though. Both beers I had were great. Definitely be back...
Amazing range of different beers and ciders. If you're not sure what to have, ask the staff. They will guide you to the right choice. It can get busy at the weekend but the staff are always welcoming, helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you travel to Borough Market.
Fantastic find tucked away in one of the quieter parts of Borough Market. Great selection of beers, very chilled atmosphere, and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
My first stop whenever i visit London. Love it!
Tiny little pub but lots of room outside in the beer garden. plenty of beers to choose from. Place was packed, a nice relaxed atmosphere
