Back in January I wanted to take my brother and friend for a traditional Sunday Roast while we were in London. After being turned away from a few other pubs in the area that were full, we managed to grab a table at the punch and Judy and were so happy we did. It was the best roast we had ever had, it was delicious and everything you expect from a traditional Sunday roast. We ended up talking about that meal for the rest of our trip. Would highly recommend!

A very historical restaurant which serves traditional British cuisine.
We are die-hard fans of British food and always enjoy popping into places that serve it!
Punch and Judy most definitely did justice to its rating.
Loved their balcony ...would love to go back!
It's too bad, cause it is a nice bar. Unfortunately you need to be careful and I would recommend to pay directly after getting your drinks... so you will not get charged for drinks you did not had
This 230 year old pub could be my favourite place to hang out in London!! Thoroughly enjoyed the beers, the ciders and the shows.
If you can find the space, sunny days are meant to be spent on the terrace overlooking the piazza.
Lovely balcony pub in the main market area of Covent Garden! Amazing selection of music and old classics. It’s a great place to watch the street artists performing down on the paving, you get a good view of the place! A little bit small but a must visit
Spot onde locais e turistas param para beber um copo e conviver, ao final do dia. Tem uma varanda fantástica, o local é bem movimentado e o ambiente descontraído e alegre. Servem também uns petiscos para aconchegar melhor o alcool. Vale a pena a visita!
A busy bar that is great for tourists and local Londoners.
I usually always head to this pub when I arrive in Covent Garden. Always busy so be prepared to stand. The balcony outside is great as it looks over the main market performance area in Covent Garden.
Toilets are small and nearly always not clean... a big gripe of mine. However ive been coming here for years when im uptown so they can't be that bad..
Get ready to open up your belly! The fish and ships dose they serve there it's quite big! Although i enjoyed been there, it's a very touristic place to go, in the heart of Convent Garden, so the prices may go up a little. The staff was nice with us and we liked our fish and chips :)
I was out and about with my brother in London on vacation from Canada. It was late evening and we wanted to go eat something, so we randomly decided to check this place out. We were greeted and seated right away. We ordered beer to drink first and decided just to order a few appetizers. Some things I wanted to order couldn't be ordered as they were out of the items in the kitchen so I had to pick other items. The food came out pretty quickly and actually tasted pretty good.
One of my favourite pubs in London, has the old school British pub charm to it... Situated at the lovely Covent gardens it's a beautiful place to chill after shopping or catching up with friends. Thought there is just one dish for vegetarians so please beware it's not a place to eat for vegetarians. But yes the Nachos are very delicious and filling.
In the balcony.... Really nice pub to drink a cold Guiness and watch popular street shows when you are in the balcony. Be careful to not to cheer to much the artists, they are going to be with you after the show asking for some money. But it is ok, they deserve because they are really entertaining. Punch & Judy is very nice to have a happy hour...
This pub is named after the original Punch and Judy puppet shows that used to take place at the Covent Garden square in front of the pub. Taylor Walker has taken over the management of this pub now (like Deacon Brodies in Edinburgh)
Punch and Judy is the ideal location to watch the shows going on in the Covent Garden Square, especially if you climb up to the first floor. You get a great view of the performance, you can hear very ell since the performers normally use mikes and most importantly, none of the performers can catch a hold of you to make you a part of their act, so it affords the security of watching a comic or dance performance without the risk of being pulled in to provide comic relief.
We've just had drinks here, so I can't comment on the food, but although they have an extremely tiny menu, it did smell good.

The Punch and Judy is the place to be if you're craving a classic British meal of fish and chips. Located in the heart of London, this charming pub offers a delightful atmosphere and delicious food. The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked, with a crispy golden batter that's simply irresistible. The chips are equally as satisfying, thick and fluffy on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. The portions are generous, ensuring you'll leave feeling satisfied. The service is warm and friendly, adding to the overall dining experience. If you're in search of the perfect fish and chips, look no further than The Punch and Judy.
We stopped here for lunch. They opened at 1100 when everyone else opened at 1130 so it was an easy choice and we were glad we stopped! The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly! You order at the bar and they'll check on your table for refills etc. Everyone at the table, 6 of us, was extremely happy with their food and service. Highly recommend!
Always a good time visiting P&J, it's one of the more popular places in Covent garden. Sadly I can't talk much about prices as I was very drunk when I arrived last Tuesday.
You get a great view of the performance area if you get upstairs on the balcony.
Well worth a visit!
Great rooftop to have a beer and enjoy the English sun. Come at about 6pm onwards when the atmosphere will be better with more people. Good amount of beer on tap also. Downstairs is an underground vibe and is a nice atmosphere. Either way you can’t go wrong.
Very busy when we went, but managed to find a spot downstairs before it got a bit quieter on the balcony. Downstairs was cozy and intimate, felt very old London which was nice. On the balcony was great also, good for people watching and a good beer. Staff were quick and nice!
It felt like going to “Cheers” the TV series “…where everybody knows your name…”. The manager is a very warm and friendly character. The staff always asking if everything is ok, can we change anything etc. So something to note: as soon as you get there get a table immediately especially if you want to sit out side. Then go and order your food and drinks. Definitely a nice place to visit
Nice place, really busy
Great if you go upstairs for a balcony seat.
My only gripe
1 White wine
1 Apple juice
1 JD Coke
£38.70
I know about London prices but come on Guys.
Great place! Great food and drink! Great atmosphere! We were lucky enough to get a table but be warned as it gets very busy at the weekends and you can't book.
Just had a delightful lunch at Punch & Judy in Covent Garden! Their fish and chips was top-notch. If you're in the mood for a classic English treat in the heart of the city, this is the place to go!
Went here with friends for drinks and my oh my, such a wonderful place it is. The old school pub ambience and also there’s sitting outside. Service was really good and also they made us fries after they said the kitchen was closed, so impeccable service.
