Going to L.Maze to eat PIE & MASH was an experience, especially since the restaurant has been open since 1929. The decor is lovely and gets you back in time. However to my palet food wasn't tasty- but that's because I like more spices in my food. Beware no toilets facilities!!
Cool place as it's a listed original pie and mash shop opened in the 1920s. Traditional London food friendly efficient service and amazing original decor. Sure to be on the list of trendy places to hang out soon. Down side, as in most English places, no toilet facility otherwise highly recommend thi
Lovely place, beautiful building and friendly staff. The pie was not as deep-filled as I’d hoped, and they used mince instead of chunks of meat, but the pastry was lovely, so was the mash and the eel “liquor”, which is basically a gravy 👍🏽
"Went down there, didn't i? Pie n "mesh" and liquor £5.20...served by a "lavely" helpful woman in a "orthentic" surroundings...yeah,very nice that, recommend chief, proper east end fare and very filling it were
Best pie n' mash I've eaten so far. The pastry had fantastic crispy texture, the filling was just right, the liquor was really nice and the mash was absolutely delicious and well seasoned. I will definitely be back regularly!
Best and only place for pie n mash ... absolutely love this place ... proper east end grub.. been going here since I was about 17 ... if you haven’t been the go
East London pie and mash shop serving traditional minced mutton pies, mashed potato and parsley sauce (otherwise called pie, mash and liquor). The place keeps to tradition as a place for the working class by retaining wooden benches, cheap prices, and no frills service in the best way possible. All
Manze Pie & Mash has been around for more years than I care to remember. The concept is simple single pie or double pie. It has always been this way and hopeful always will. The pies are mince filled with gravy this is the same recipe that has been used since the day it opened. The mash is fluffy bu
I have been going here years, good tasty food in traditional surroundings. This food has not, and should not changed, It is honest meat pies with mash an liquor. If you want gluten free, vegan veggie food its not for you.
Best pie mash around! Love how it hasn't changed the decore. My favourite time of year is winter, with the sawdust on the floor, roaring fire, some of that chilli vinger and loads of white pepper over a double pie mash. Past through the generations. Love it!
A true eel/pie and mash shop with real mutton pies not the minced beef found in most, prices were very good too. Also the decor is good and old fashioned with a tiled ceiling. Only downside is the lack of toilets!
Really worth a visit , I go in from time to time , amazing original decor and traditional pie and mash done well. You get some real east end characters in there as well. One downside is they never have the full menu on offer e.g. no LG pies today, no steak and onion the last time etc etc
This place is seriously cool, a hidden gem amidst the Walthamstow outdoor market's stalls. This is one of the last traditional east end pie and mash shops around. It sells delicious, filling pie, mash and liquor and of course, jellied eels! The interior is beautifully preserved and there are wonderf
Listed Victorian interior. Friendly staff and I had an excellent pie and mash with liquor. Plenty of salt vinegar and pepper. Will try the jellied eels next time. They weren't available when I went there.
