Food was incredibly good! We walked past on a Saturday night and it was buzzing so we booked for a birthday dinner a few nights later. Was very impressed with all our dishes - modern asian tapas style food. They were also good with dietary requirements - were able to adjust quite a few dishes to be gluten free for me if not already.
We enjoyed a fab Sunday Brunch at The Freak Scene, which is a short distance from Parson’s Green tube. The staff were very attentive, the food was delicious and the bubbles were plentiful. All in all, we were well looked after. Well worth a visit - we will be back!
Caught this "brunch" offer on soft launch London with their "SK8 or die menu". When we arrived, it was already quite busy in this small pokey restaurant - which gave it good atmosphere.
Unlimited prosecco and beer for 1hr 30mins, gets you off to a great start. Good decor and a chance to head to the bathroom which becomes a dark canvas for everyone to graffiti on the wall as a nice memoir to your visit.
Deck no. 1 🛹 - the fresher deck of food, pork skewers, crab wonton bomb, quinoa and greens, shrimp tempura were all great. I don't eat salmon but my partner said it was divine.
Deck no. 2 🛹 - more deep fried stuff, Pork Belly Bao buns, chicken skewers, hash browns (with yuzu mayo) and veg gyozas all superb. Tom yum rice was nice but needs more flavour - my only criticism. Cool ideas with serving on boards though 🛹
PB&J style dessert knocked my sweet tooth out of the park!
All around amazing experience, question does remain if we would pay £55 for all of that or not....possibly but the menu needs some tweaking.
The brunch was half price, with that in mind it was good.
But it just wasn't good enough if it was full price, certain dishes were overcooked or average. Some were great tho.
Also the free flowing drinks is only fun if you do alcohol, there's one one non alcoholic cocktail and zero tea/ coffee type of options.
I took my mother here for Bottomless Brunch on the Sk8 or Die menu.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, and the team was so accommodating, in arranging a table to suit our needs, and give us room to spread out and enjoy the food.
The food comes out on skateboards, and the serving sizes were really generous, there's so many standouts, like the crispy crab wontons, the seared salmon sashimi, I live the rock shrimp tempura with kimchi - the pork belly bun was really delicious, and the peanut soy dressing made it really rich and indulgent. The big pleasant surprise was the hash browns with the yuzu-truffle-egg sauce, it was really well balanced, and not overpowering.
The PB&J dessert was rich, yet light in texture, with little nutty bursts, I had to resist licking the glass clean.
The service was attentive without being intrusive, the draught beer on offer was refreshing and delightfully well rounded, and we were very well looked after.
We will definitely be returning to try more things.
Nice Sunday brunch at The Freak Scene. A good variety of dishes over 2 rounds followed by a moorish dessert.
Attentive service from the moment we arrived, despite it being very busy.
We had a nice table to the rear of the restaurant, with tables slightly spaced out so we didn't feel so cramped . Staff enquired about dietry requirements and were kind enough to substitute my pork bun with a well marinated tofu alternative. Prosecco was plentiful, promptly topped up (we only had to ask once).
We paid £27.50 pp in advance using 'Soft Launch' . There was an additional £13.75 service charge based on the full menu price, payable at the end of the meal,
This was not stated on the booking confirmation .
We were more than happy to pay the service charge given the 50% discount, quality of the meal, and standard of service.
However, as payment for brunch is taken at the time of booking, please mention this in the small print on the booking receipt so as not to catch people of guard (the table next to us appeared a little surprised to have a card machine put in front of them) .
Overall, it's a nice vibe. And kudos to the staff for efficiently and professionally managing a very busy brunch service. I'd recommend this interesting brunch.
Amazing food, lovely service and very tasty cocktails that don't hold back. The duck red curry donuts and pork bao were highlights for me but I couldn't fault a single dish. It's a little expensive but the quality is top notch, for a treat I'd recommend it.
What a great evening at The FreakScene. Lovely food, drinks deserts are beautiful made. Absolutely delicious 🤤 Thank you to Chef Scott and all team!
Excellent food in a funky environment - a great neighbourhood spot that provides something a bit different for Parsons Green.
Sharing, tapas-style Asian fusion, every dish was packed full of flavour. Stand out dishes for me were the duck curry and yellow tail sashimi.
Would highly recommend and will be back.
I’m a fan of this place - great sharing food, daring and original taste, cabbage is my favourite and it’s just delicious. Special kudos for tequila cocktail 🍸 it was superb!
Food was beyond superd! Truly good value for money. But what we loved more was how lovely the staff were. All smiles and very attentive. Will keep coming back for more.
Fantastic little Asian fusion restaurant. Every dish I've had here has been outstanding, it's fairly expensive but really justifies the price.
It's got a great vibe and excellent staff, very happy to see such a great spot open up in Parsons Green.
Definitely try the sake!
Had their bottomless brunch. It was decent, the first fish course was the best. The skewers were also quite nice. Had an offer when we went so was a decent deal but not sure I'd be back at full price!
We had a brilliant time here. It’s an unassuming and small restaurant but the service was brilliant and so friendly, the cocktail list was large, and the food was 10/10 - so much flavour. Highly recommend.
We went for a birthday dinner at freak scene last night. It was my second visit and we were blown away by the food. Every dish we had was creative and really tasty. We loved the chilli crab wonton bombs, the shiitake mushrooms and the duck curry. The service was excellent and we really appreciated the waiters explanation of the menu / suggestions. It’s quite loud and fun, and initially it can look expensive but each dish was a really good size and we liked the atmosphere!
Excellent Food - Japanese junk food apparently but so delicious. Unusual combinations - pork and mussels anyone? - but they work incredibly well. Service great, atmosphere buzzing. make sure you have a Sake Bomb and fun cocktails. Weakest disk IMO was salmon pizza thing but best was squid and broth, fried chicken and crab wontons.
