Fabulous dinner, fabulous service. You can't go wrong here and u must try the "weetbix" ice cream! The white chocolate and apricot ice cream is pretty good too!
Last week we finally picked up the keys to our first house in London. It has been a few months of a lot of stress, but it has all been worth it in the end! . After picking up the keys, we thought we’d try out a local pub/restaurant for dinner. We don’t know Tooting very well yet, so it’s exciting to be able to explore a new area and find out what culinary treats it has in store. So far I’ve only been to Chicken Shop, which I wrote about previously here.

A qualified yes. This is nice place. Its also a huge place.
A series of large rooms which seem to go on and on.
As such it was easy to find a table, they'll serve you anywhere it seems. Which while great, makes you wonder how that works in practice (ie when there are a lot of people ordering at once - sunday lunch etc).
We were there on a thursday evening, it was quite quiet and we were keen for three courses.
Interestingly there a series of reasonably challenging main courses and the obvious Rib Eye steak. the only thing to sell out. Not very adventous folk in Tooting or an appraisal of the rest of the menu?
Chose the Cod. Absolutely beautiful. Superb piece of fish beautifully cooked.
Desert was home made, I had Lemon Meringue (average), HungryBen went with the chocolate pot which on ordering was met with what we later realised was an oppology for what was to arrive. Chocolate sauce, not even slightly set. It was removed without debate (from our sight and from the bill).
The starter incidently? wholely unremarkable and by the numbers.
What to say about this place. Its by Atic, the people behind a host of such London Boozers including balham Bowls club and the Tramshed.
This place looks like an independant start up, well intentioned with a few processes to be alighned, if viewed like that its an ok meal. It wasn't cheap.
If viewed as a latest offering from an established chain, your view might be slightly different.
I'll go with the former view. Worth a second look.
I visited this pub as part of a large group of football fans having pre-booked our trip. There was a wide choice of ales, they were in excellent condition and the prices were exceptional value. The staff were enthusiastic and helpful, so despite a poor result at the match, it was a very enjoyable evening. (Food not rated as I did not eat).
Happened up one this great pub on “Whisk(e)y Wednesday, and enjoyed good quality Scotch at great prices. And then Chef sent freshly made sausage rolls to the bar, which tasted fantastic with English mustard. I’ve been working in Tooting for 2 years, devastated that I’ve only just discovered this place. 5 stars.
The Antelope is a great boozer and I have enjoyed my many visits there over the course of the last 5 years I've lived in and around the area of Tooting. They have a good choice of beers on tap and the staff are always very friendly.
The reason I wrote this review was because I've finally been able to try out their roast which was the perfect hangover cure on the Sunday. We tried a few of the starters which were fine, but largely forgettable. However the roast beef was excellent, not dry, very juicy and not drowning in too much gravy. I really enjoyed the variety and selection of vegetables accompanying the roast, the creamed leeks and red cabbage were great!
Awesome pub…decent food, great service, great ambiance. Staff are amazing. Def recommend giving them a try.
Great pub, which is almost like the Tardis, whilst it looks normally-sized on the outside, the three separate rooms make for plenty of seating, plus the well-sized garden, with large covered area which can be booked for events. There is a good selection of beers which seem to be rotated fairly regularly, provides a good start to a weekend night out as well.
Always a great time in this pub. A definite staple for south west london. Great garden space, huge room in the back (perfect for sports fans) and a lovely selection of drinks. The staff are all very lovely. Will definitely miss this place when we move away
Good place for a Sunday roast - especially the beef.
Gastro pub with good selection of ales. Probably better to book if you wish to eat, although some tables were available during my visit. There are stools at the bar if you just want a drink.
Great pub, really nice vibe with a nice outdoor area and also big screens to watch the football. Staff and bar manager were extra sound and sorted us with a table last minute - would highly recommend!!
Went for a very busy St Patrick's Day drinks. Decent collection available on the bar. Service was slow but understandably.
Massive Tooting boozer. Used to avoid in its Jack Beards/Forrester's days because of its grim reputation. Now it's mostly teachers and other young Tooting types. Fast service, good range of beers, lots of people eating although we were just in for drinks. Small fact. My parents had their wedding reception in here sixty years ago.
Brilliant pub with an amazing community vibe, we chanced being there for the anniversary of the Antelopenmic night which was amazing! Food was great including the vegan burger, and the staff were really friendly. Really made our day, loved it!
Great cask beer and great food. Went here for dinner outside. The wild mushroom tortellini was divine! Definitely a great place to go for an outdoor pint or meal (and inside is fantastic).
Nice staff. Decent grub. Kitchen open on a Tuesday is a bonus as many pubs in the area don't do food Monday to Wednesday.
Went here for Sunday Lunch this week and it was so good. Party of 10 and we all had a mix of the roast options, you could have nut roast, pork, beef,lamb or chicken ! service was very fast. I had the pork and it was unreal ! Perfectly cooked juicy pork with a delicious crispy crackling ! The only thing that makes this review a 4 star is that the sticky toffee pudding was slightly dry and the sauce was too hard, more like a hard candy than a sauce!
Love the pub! great atmosphere, plenty of space and very friendly staff. Although the food was so much better just before recently. Wish the kitchen could change back.
