On my last trip to this city, I tried this new place and had a wonderful time here. The food was excellent and was cooked to perfection. These people do consider value for money and the food is available at quite reasonable prices. Full rating for this wonderful restaurant!
When a place is jam packed even after 9 pm ,there is definitely something good about it! We happened to come across this place by chance and were very happy that we did! The staff here is very efficient and the wait time considering the crowd just appropriate. The most amazing thing about this place is their menu, which houses the best range of wine and food. They are also priced reasonably. I recommend trying their fabulous seafood and vegetarian dishes!
This place is overwhelming and surpassed all my expectations. It is one of the most top class experience i have had. To begin with, visiting this place for my birthday celebrations, the staff welcomes the customers like an invited guest. The cherry on the cake is perfectly cooked and extremely flavoursome delicious food! Way to go!
My daughter is a student in one of the Universities in this city, and she is very fond of this place. She was the one who took me here for a dinner. It is some of the most delicious and genuinely prepared food I have ever tasted and it is offered at such reasonable prices. I daringly decided to try the Anchovy Spaghetti since I absolutely hate anchovies, and to my surprise, I loved what they had put on offer. The food is really simple and the flavours are the real heroes here.
I had a wonderful time dining at this place. My entire family relished the food. The risotto funghii is a must-have here. The pizzas are also well-prepared and extremely delicious. The service is prompt and the the staff is hospitable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and would visit again.
A superb Italian restaurant in the vicinity. They serve excellent pizzas and the beverages need a special mention. The service is prompt. the prices are reasonable too. The atmosphere is lively, fun and relaxed all at the same time. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It makes for an ideal place to hang out with friends.
I happened to visit this place a couple of weeks ago with my family and had a truly great time. We started with an Avocado and crab with was nicely seasoned and the crab was prepared fresh. We also ordered an Ossobucco with was brilliantly prepared and had a real kick of Gremolata to add to the flavor. The rice served by them was mediocre and they had a huge list of wines to complement their dinner. I would love to visit this place again.
I came to this place with my family on our first night in this city and absolutely loved the dinner. The food was really nice and lovely and it was evident that the owner of this place was really proud of the quality and ambiance of his restaurant. We also came across some of the local produce if this place and also that from Scotland. I came again to this place with a bunch of friends, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks fare.
As soon as we entered this place, the owner greeted us and gave us options that where we want to be seated. This makes you feel welcomed. I went for their Scallopine Sophia and it was delectable. I have a major liking for Italian cuisine and i found this place to be one of the best in serving Italian dishes. Worth a visit!
This is the hidden gem of Fitzrovia. A proper Trattoria with Italian staff who are incredibly welcoming. The food is good value, really tasty and plentiful.
It's also very popular with Fitzrovia locals and very much a place to go to feel like your with friends or the nicer part of your family.
Perfect.
Very delicious pasta and very warm, friendly and helpful service. Beautiful ambiance. You can definitely see that it is an Italian family restaurant.
Excellent Italian food !
The Gamberoni Giovanni is absolutely delicious! Probably the best prawn dish in London ❤️
(King prawns in butter, garlic , chilled lemon and white wine )
Their dessert, esp tiramisu was perfect 👌
A lot of overly dramatic comments, one about throwing up after the food, which is really mature, go to a doctor maybe, you sound unwell.
As for the restaurant, this is not a chain restaurant, this is much like local Italian places, which tend to be family run, the authenticity of the restaurant is unmatched for a place like London. Aside from being family run, they have a very funny Portuguese waiter, who will be very humorous when communicating with you, but is still very welcoming to you. The couple running the place are very warm and will treat you like family, I visit irregularly, but am still treated almost like a son to the family there, makes it very worth returning to see them.
The atmosphere is incredible, and the food is fantastic, hygiene is very important in this place, leaving a sense of comfort. It is right by a road, in London (hold your breath in this city), which is not ideal, but no fault of the restaurant, so that's not relevant to their service.
Go to this place.
Wow what a meal. Great little family run Italian restaurant. The owner greets every guest at the door and the rest of the staff are very friendly and attentive. My wife is a huge lasagne fan and she thought that it was best she'd ever eaten. I had a spaghetti dish with pieces of fillet steak which unfortunately I cant remember the name of but it was glorious and I ate every morsel. We'll definitely be back.
The modest exterior hides a truly welcoming and hospitable restaurant. From the moment we walked in it felt very homely, the staff were so attentive and welcoming I could possibly give them anything g less than 5 stars. The food was great, and based on the waiters recommendations which turned out to be perfect. At no point did we feel rushed either, we were able to relax and have a nice meal and conversation.
It did get busy a little later, but a busy restaurant is a sign of quality food. Prices were extremely competitive, and the menu had good variety.
Thanks to the waiter and waitress for a great evening.
I took a friend there for a birthday meal. The staff are very welcoming and warm. The food was delicious. We weren't hassled all the time. Lovely atmosphere. The lovely young lady that took our order was so helpful, explained what the dishes were and let us make our choices before without pressure. Highly recommend a visit.
Loved the place.
The ambiance is so warm and so as their staff.
The place is quiet and welcoming.
Loved the pizza and the gnocchi there.
Has a clean washroom too.
Low lighting makes it soothing.
The Trattoria Mondello is this kind of places that deserves five stars. The reasons are the warm service of its dedicated staff. Its own owners are always checking that always everything be okay. The taste of the typical Italian dishes is wonderful, la lasagna, the pizzas, the soups, the fishes, the house's wine is also an excellent deal... In few words the experience is delivered by senior people with kindnesses, familiar treat and tradition... 🤗😊🍕🍝🍷
The lovely owner and staff looked after my wife and I on numerous occasions last year when visiting my mother who was in UCL for months. We tried other restaurants in the area and kept coming back as the food was simply lovely. They provide fantastic traditional food which I have to say I still miss and have promised myself to have again if ever back in London.
Great traditional-style Italian restaurant. The pizza was astonishingly good - no fancy toppings, just a perfect crisp base with fluffy, non-stodgy crusts. House wine by glass, carafe, or bottle. Great value given the location.
Have been coming here for years and it is one of the last Italian family run restaurants you can find in this part of London. Relaxed friendly service and you can have a better meal with wine for less than any of the chain of pizza places. Worth supporting as once places like this go they can't be replaced.

Couldn't recommend this little gem more. With prices that seem ridiculously reasonable on both the wine and food fronts. The food is utterly perfect for the style of restaurant and feeling.
Interior is dated but that's part of the charm in this restaurant which has at least 2 if not 3 generations of the proprietors working the tables, bar, kitchen and everything in between it basically feels like wandering into somebody's front room in Sicily. Only I've never had food this good in Sicily.
A wonderful family-run Italian restaurant, fabulous food and full of character. The owners are always in evidence, lending elegance and charm. The slightly eccentric waiter always provides a fresh performance! Very highly recommended; rather than just being another link in the "Italian" chains currently so prevalent, Trattoria Mondello provides an individual experience every time.
A wonderfully characterful restaurant with excellent food. Bags of charm, relaxed atmosphere, good service and very welcoming. We ordered off the specials board and had a carafe of house red which we both enjoyed. Feels authentically Italian.
Nice find. Lovely Italian. Now that the excellent Pescatori's has closed (shock horror) this is the next best alternative for Italian. Nice traditional decor and owned run by Italians. They serve a good dover sole for about £18,which is a bargain. About £90 for 3 people with starters, so prices are very competitive. Bit disappointed that the second visit had a waiter (lanky guy with glasses) shadow us in an empty restaurant before closing, and then suggested we leave a tip. No mate, dont ever do that to anyone again, thats my decision to make not yours and you'll lose my excellent custom, as my group are generally big eaters and drinkers when we dont have someone weirdly watching us eat. Really annoying. Otherwise, this restaurant is now our Italian of choice.
