Me and my theatre company used the space upstairs to rehearse for our new show, the service at The Dog House was incredibly professional. Such friendly staff and a great community feel. Would highly recommend to visit!

Loved it here, such a unique, interesting place with the books on the window sill and the teapots dangling from the roof. We loved that we can play board games before dinner. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend going here, unfortunately we live in Australia so won't be able to visit again for a while but thanks for helping to make our family holiday awesome !

Really nice friendly atmosphere. How to sip Patron without knocking it back like a shot! 😂 Can't wait to try their food menu.

By far the BEST dinner we had in London. If it wasn’t for the stuffy restaurant across the street from the Dog House who turned their nose up in us when we walked in, we would never have visited this hidden gem!

Loved this rough and ready pub, good beer, a friendly barmaid and some nice blues in the background, although I didn't eat here the menu looked to suit everyone's taste. Will definately be returning :)

Found this place the week after I rented a flat in Kennington while working up here and it's now my second home. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and locals, good choice of cider and the food is bloody marvellous. Granted, eating here four nights a week isn't helping my waistline, but it's a price I'm willing to pay!

The porkbelly Sunday roast was incredible! I will be back next time I'm in London. I had a personalized beer education that was so fun! Thanks for making our first trip to London so lovely!

V solid choice. Cosier than the Tommyfield for a nice pint. Above par Sunday Roast for a 10er. A yuppy haven, but in some cases that just means a decent pub with good ales (and board games if that's how you choose to live your life). If you're meeting someone with access to the Northern Line for a pint, this pub's 100% worth a punt.

[had to find pub for a double date, was given criteria 'must be nice' & 'must be showing the rugby' - booked a table for 4 two hours in advance and absolutely nailed it w/ a perfect view of the screen to have our lunch in front of. Raked in the brownie points ?]

This is a beautiful rustic building... I love the way it welcomes you in with comfy sofas... Huge covered seating area outside... Tastefully lit but not overpowering... Nathen (landlord) has been very accommodating each time I've visited and the lady behind the bar (sorry didn't catch your name 🤗) was immensely helpful today guiding my daughter from Waterloo station to kennington. The Dog House has an upstairs seating and eating area, where you could easily eat / Drink and relax with friends, For all you students why not grab some drinks and spend time finishing some study work away from the hustle of the London hub bub. Photos show it's lovely and clean with plenty of seating for everyone... A real honest British pub !!

I've driven passed this pub almost daily for the last few years and never been here. A friend suggested we meet here for a drink, so went yesterday. Friendly, fast service, and w surprisingly good whiskey selection. The food we had was also quite good and reasonably priced.

A Hidden Gem Worth Every Praise! I'll start by saying that I believe in honest reviews, and my connection to The Dog House runs deep. My friends, Duncan and Claire, along with their lovely family, own this place. Plus, my son works here. That being said, I would never write a review I didn't wholeheartedly mean. The Dog House, in my opinion, is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff is top-notch, the food is delicious, and the beer selection is outstanding. It's a refreshing change to visit a place where you can simply enjoy yourself without any reservations. Duncan and Claire, the owners, are "real" people who genuinely care about what they do. Their passion and patience shine through in every aspect of this establishment. Well done to you all for creating such an amazing place!

Whilst recently staying in Kennington we stopped by for some dinner here. We ordered the Beer-battered Fish & Chips with mushy peas and the King Prawn Linguini. Both were average at best (the prawn linguine only had 5 x prawns and was cold). Unsure why the dishes had started to go cold as the place was not that busy. Unfortunately they were also not worth the price. Shame, as this place was located super close to our accommodation and we had thought we would eat breakfast there the next day (along with upcoming dinners) but decided we would try the many other pubs nearby (which by the way had better meals). Gave an extra star as the bar staff were efficient, helpful and friendly.

Great atmosphere in this Victorian pub on Kennington Road with its inviting wooden flooring, and a good choice of beer to be had. I went for the Routemaster Red by Southwark Brewing, which was, to my joy, served in a barrel glass. The punters were very friendly, and we made note of the Sunday roast menu for when we're back in the area.

*Updating my review because The Dog House continues to be a great choice for food, drink, and atmosphere. They even have Doggie Sunday Roasts now! Best day of my dog’s life, honestly. Original Review: I recently moved here, and this has become my regular pub after trying others in the area. Staff went out of their way to make it a pleasant Sunday for us, and the food is great

This was my local pub when I first moved to London twenty years ago. It always was the best pub in the area (not hard twenty years ago). I visited again, 'for old time's sake', and was really happy to see that it had evolved into, what is now, one of my favourite pubs in London. Great food, stylish, but in no way contrived, and with really good food. A truly honest London pub that still serves locals good food and independent, regularly changingbeer.

Nicely kept selection of Ales on hand pump in this lively, friendly Kennington pub. Vegan sausage roll? Don’t mind if I do.

The fish and chips was decent and the hand cut chips was a nice touch. Only stayed shortly for food but will come back for the beer garden which had nice vibes.

Very friendly staff Good choice of wines Buffalo chicken wings with dip were delicious. Don't choose the small table opposite just inside the door. The right chair has a leg jammed into something and is impossible to move

Was wonderful to see such a clean pub full of fashionable and well turned out people - a rarity in modern London. This extends to the glamorous team; always nice to talk rugby with the barman, or exchange knowing looks with his beleaguered colleagues.
