A+. A very characteristics, warming and familiar venue in the heart of Shoreditch. It is definitely a must go. The staff is very friendly

Walluc has a job on its hands with all of the restaurants and cafes it has to compete against on this little street. It is small, doesn't take cards (make sure you bring cash), and can sometimes be a little fickle with its opening times. To say their set up is casual, would be an understatement. That said, they serve gorgeous wine and even better fondue. Boundary rooftop recently entered the world of raclette, so cheese is obviously a thing in the area. Walluc does a divine job of keeping it real with fondue so authentic, you could just as well be on a Parisian street. The lighting is very very low, so it is not a great spot for taking good pics without the garish flash, but trust me, it is worth the visit for cheese and wine lovers!
A great evening. Great Italo-Swiss fondue and wine. Luca the owner is passionate about offering great food without the fuss. Was great to chat to him at the end of our meal and laugh at us Brits who are over-concerned about huge menus and choices. Luca keeps things simple, offers fondue only and only advertises wine price in format. I.e. £22 for a bottle regardless of what it is. Wine differs weekly depending on what his supplier brings, but as an Italian you know the choice is always great. Ensure you book a table to avoid disappointment and check its location on Google maps as its not clearly signed. Most Thursday's host a live jazz night also! Keep your eyes peeled on their Twitter for dates.
Great athmosphere great quality food wines are from small winemakers. Price very good
Great place - lovely atmosphere, fresh simple pasta and reasonably priced fondue...what more can you want?! A bit rough around the edges but that's half the charm, and luckily this is one place in the area that has retained its charm.
Hands on my favourite place in East London!
Not only the food is banging, is paradise for cheese lovers 🧀 but you also step into a different world.
Luca the owner is one of a kind, you will feel at home here, warm welcome, jokes and cards tricks performed by him!
Helen is also very sweet and always getting back to you super quick, she is a star!
The fondue 🫕 is magic, it feels like a warm, melted cuddle 🤗
The decor is crazy, it might looks like a bunch of random stuff but is not, they are all connected and telling a story.
They also do comedies, gig and tarot readings night, do not miss a visit to Walluc- you won’t regret it! ❤️ also they are pet friendly 🐶
Unbelievably cool experience. Not ur typical night out. Luca, the owner makes it feel like ur visiting a friend for dinner. What a great deal, fondue is really good and i liked his card tricks.
I’ve been to the Bistrot a few times and I absolutely adore the vibe and ambience of this place.
Last time we had the company of the authentic musician Paco Moustache, who played the guitar very passionate and sang classic rock n roll - for those with good taste.
Luca is a proud host and he’s always looking after his guests.
The Bistrot is a lively place where you can always find good food, good wine and good entertainment.
What to say, I came from a very small village in Italy and the Bistrot reminds me home. I even been lucky cause I’ve had the chance to play there 3/4 times during the delicious dinners that they made, I had food in there too and being Italian I can tell you when food is good and when is not. That’s Italian style, as if we were in Italy. And then don’t forget that it is a bistrot, so if you want 5stars restaurant food this is not the place for you. Same for the wine, I had 2 bottles last time I’ve been there and it was delicious. So thumb up for that!
Then, unfortunately I have to keep myself safe from bad reviews, cause last time I’ve played in there it was quite busy, and there was this unsatisfied customer that first wanted to bring her own wine from home and expecting to do not pay for it, and then was making complaints for everything. I was checking her google profile and she thinks she is a food blogger, but she’s got 4 reviews and 0-ZERO FOLLOWERS, so that makes me understand how much professional she is, thinking to be an expert but maybe she just found out how London works. I’m sorry for her, cause she puts all of this bad mood everywhere she goes, definitely not the best company to hang out with.
If pop/songwriting is not your musical genre I’m sorry but you should go to a disco club to have fun, or if you know how to do better than me please feel free to come on the stage and play your way. I’m not Freddie Mercury and I know, you shouldn’t come and say that to me, but you were the only one unsatisfied about my music so I’m sorry for you but next time go somewhere else where musicians uses laptops and no one is playing live. Again, I’m sorry for her and for her bad music culture.
That said, I wish you could go at the Bistrot and enjoy the food they made and the music and the shows they hosts, you’ll not regret!
I hired Bistro Walluc for a private party and the feedback has been outstanding.
Luca was brilliant to work with, incredibly responsive and open to all my requests, even with last minute changes.
He went out of his way to ensure everyone had a night to remember. He brought in brilliant entertainment, music and comedy.
The food was delicious and both he and his staff were friendly and helpful all night. Cannot recommended this local gem enough.
What an awesome little find this place is! Being a huge fan of Savoyard fayre, I was eager to find out if this quirky little place could match what I'm used to in The Alps, and it certainly didn't disappoint! The food and atmosphere are great, with regular music and comedy nights, and Luca is the perfect host. He's passionate about what he does and loves to chat and entertain the guests. I ate there a couple of weeks ago and I'm heading back this week with some friends for another helping.
Incredible place, so so rare to find a place this authentic and amazing.
The fondue is exceptional and Lucas is the longest standing owner on the street, operating here for over 17 years.
Lucas is an Italian with French grandfather so he knows his stuff about good food. On top of that he’s a jiujitsu and a magician who treat you to magic tricks during the meal
Come here if you want an unforgettable evening
We had an incredible time here recently for a friend’s birthday. It’s a really unique experience and not like a normal restaurant at all. The evening we went, they had live music and comedy too so the atmosphere was amazing. Best of all, the cheese fondue was delicious and our little dog was made to feel so welcome. They even had a special ceramic water bowl which was specially made for them. it’s amazing value for money, especially as you’re not asked to give up your table after 90 minutes. We were on fact encouraged to stay all night! I love that it’s a cosy place where we were made to feel so welcome and could relax there and enjoy Luca’s magic card tricks. We’ve already booked our next dinner with other friends we want to take there!
We booked as a small group for fondue and live music & comedy. Last year we’d planned to come but couldn’t coordinate a date that suited us all. So glad we made the effort as we had an amazing time. Of course the fondue was fantastic but the atmosphere is something special. It’s all candle-lit and very cosy, with lots of cute vintage bits and bobs. And we got to practise our tambourine skills as Luca the owner handed them out during the show. We’ve already booked for another show in late November!
Really a unique and fantastic experience had at the Bistrot. The food was delicious, very cheese and tasty. The service was very polite and on time.
And the same evening I went with my friends, was a very entertaining, and they had live music and stand comedy.
I really recommend going here, is really a special experience that's very uncommon to find here in London.
I love this place! I’ve been here a few times now and always take the opportunity to bring friends who are new to the city. It’s an amazing experience set in what feels like the owner’s front room, it’s cozy and welcoming.
Luca (the owner) is the star of the show, he’ll give you the grand tour, he does card tricks and he has so many stories to share about his amazing life and his collection of curiosities. They also have live music/comedy/dancing on certain nights.
The food is amazing, Luca makes his own mix for the fondue so it stays extra creamy (it’s delish), also a big shout out to his salad dressing. Weird thing to review about I know, but it’s amazing. V generous portions of charcuterie, plenty of stuff for dipping in cheese too (crusty bread, baby potatoes). Best enjoyed with plenty of wine and shots of amaretto, which Luca will appear with periodically!
Come for the cheese, stay for the company - highly recommend to anyone for a unique night out.
Oh and it’s dog friendly!
One of my favourite restaurants in London, great food, great drinks. Amazing service. Always a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Love the live music and Luca’s magic tricks!
Highly recommend!
Probably one of the last independent restaurants in London. I personally can’t understand the bad reviews. Warm atmosphere, good food and feeling like at home. What else do you need? I just believe people are getting used to big chain and fancy restaurants forgetting what is like to go to an independent restaurant. Besides, where are you going to find a place in which the owner does a magic trick with cards at the end of dinner? Do we really want to let down independent places like this one? I can’t recommend this restaurant enough
Wow! Came here for our valentines meal last night and it was everything we could have wished for and more! Wasn't really sure what to expect but had heard good things. Booked two weeks in advance ( you have to send the host Luca £10 on Paypal to secure your table). Arrive and ordered the bottle of red - only 'red or white' available on the menu. We loved this lack of choice - felt very authentic, been to many small Parisian cafes and this is often how it is. The wine was perfect. Italian and very light which complemented the cheese very well. You are then immersed in 'Bistro Walluc's' cosy, authentic, quirky vibe. With bowler hats on the wall and red drapes we certainly felt intimate and relaxed!
The act 'SVRPoole' were performing on our night and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Simona has the voice of an angel and really made our evening.
We finished with an amaretto shot and some close up magic from Luca which blew our mind.
If you're looking for the perfect unique date idea this is the place to be! So personal, so gorgeous, so yummy.
Will be returning as soon as we can!
If you looking for a magic place, good music and great food this is your place!Going to the Bistro is like to get your ticket for a cool Time Machine! And Luca is the best host, that will make you feel great, making smart jokes and offering the best Foundue ever, there’s also available the vegan option🌿🧀
If your looking for somewhere with a-lot of charter and an all round wonderful experience this is the place!
We had a fantastic time here, the fondue was amazing.
Very easy to book and a small deposit to insure your table which is taken off the bill at the end of the night.
We can not wait too come back.
Thanks for having us!
Extremely friendly and welcoming, such a charming bistro! There was a lovely band playing all night, the service was fantastic.
Luca looked after us, we ordered the fondue for two ( highly recommended by they way, the portions where huge and great value for your money)
We cannot wait to come book again.
Highly recommend.
