Best Thai food I had in London! The lady who served me was very friendly, restaurant atmosphere was very "Thai", love the decor.
I had a special order Tom Kah soup with noodles and Thai lemon ice tea. The prawns were gigantic, soup was authentic, good level of sourness and had a good creamy texture.
The lemon ice tea was on point ☝️👌 I asked for mild sweet and more lemon, the lady just knew what I wanted 💯💯💯
Highly recommended!
This Market Thai restaurant was a goldmine’s place in the heart of Portobello Market. Thai restaurants was authentic, warm and the staffs were friendly and always smiling. The foods were exceptionally tasty and plenty of choices, I recommend anyone to visit this niche Thai restaurant.
Owner is very nice and caring. Food is good, and decor is very pretty. This is a humble an authentic Thai restaurant situated next to a fun market on the second floor. Highly recommend!
I went to this restaurant for the second time tonight and was very pleased with the food and service. We had the Thai fish cakes as a starter, followed by Pad Thai and a Penang curry. The food was delicious and the lady who served us (may be the owner/manager) was very friendly and personable. The food is also good value for money. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night - I suspect that the other restaurant/bar downstairs has taken away some of their customers over the years, which is a real shame as Market Thai deserves more credibility and business for what it offers. I will be sure to visit again in the future!
I have been living in this area for a while, but I havent been to this place before and I completely regret it! Loved the food. It is very authentic and the food is AMAZING! When I first went into the place, I was hesitant because the entrance was not so appealing and the place wasn’t busy, but please dont be put down by this because the place is really underrated! Also, Julant who is the owner’s sister is really kind and welcoming!
Had a good meal here. Nice decor, nice food, decent price.
This is a gorgeous hidden spot. I came here with a friend for dinner and loved it. The service is very helpful, the food delicious, and it's a very relaxed and warm atmosphere. They have suitable options for vegetarians and vegans too. It's easy to miss from the street but well worth the visit.
Such a hidden gem in notting hill with delicious food, great ambience, and friendly staff. We ordered the chili basil wok and the mix platter of starters and everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend!
We found this restaurant last min at 9.30pm and luckily they still opened for business in a cold night. This is the most authentic Thai cuisine which we had during our trip thus far. The taste was close to what we always had in Bangkok, Thailand. The lady boss is very friendly as well. Give it a try if you opt for spicy foods.
Don’t let the outside fool you, we almost skipped on it because nothing really popped at us. But we always like to try new restaurant and I’m so relieved we did!
It’s on the top floor, it’s cozy and you can feel as if your immerse in the culture.
First of all we order the shrimp crackers and it came with a sweet sauce. We were expecting actual shrimps but it was more like crackers. Great touch and it was on point!
We added the edamame and the Tom-yum soup. The soup was spicy and we loved it.
Then I order off the lunch menu and got the noodles with beef. It was amazing! Every bite felt as if I was in heaven.
Service was top notch!
Food was amazing!
Reasonably price!
Highly recommend this place to anyone don’t let the outside fool you.
Our fave Thai Place and possibly the best restaurant in London. So good, we ate here twice in the same week!!
Service is a bit slow with only one server, but the food arrives fast and fresh and is SO delicious!
Would definitely recommend!
The place was upstairs and relatively small. It was fairly empty at 1pm on a Saturday so I was a bit concerned. But then the food arrived. Wow! I ordered the satay as an appetizer. The peanut sauce that came with it was some of the best I have had. It was delicious. For my entree I asked if they would do choochee shrimp instead of the choochee salmon. They agreed and it was delicious. The shrimp were fresh and perfectly cooked. The best part was the sauce. Very flavorful. Absolutely delicious. Probably the best Thai food I’ve had in London.
This is the best Thai food restaurant in the whole of London and possibly the world. I’ve visited Thailand twice and the food here at Market Thai is better than the food in Thailand. It is authentic, tasty and very reasonably priced. The people that work there are excellent. They make me feel welcomed. I will definitely come back here to eat. Possibly everyday now for the rest of my life. Until I die. Not even exaggerating, but it’s the best restaurant I’ve ever been too in my entire life. Wow
Such an underrated place on Portobello road! Tastier than most Thai restaurant I’ve tried in London. The atmosphere is lovely and so is the staff. Price/quality excellent. Highly recommend if you find yourself on portobello road looking for a nice place where to have a meal. Also you wouldn’t say from the outside, but it is very spacious so ideal for big groups of people!
If you see there is no customer inside, don’t hesitate, take a seat and have a curry. When the manager told us that no one came to the restaurant because of the hot weather, we doubted her words, but when we ate the food and tasted the excellent taste of her food, we knew that she was right.
