We visited this place twice during a 4 day stay in London and loved it. We first went on a Thursday, where it wasn’t very crowded and got a good chance to chat up the bartender, David, who’s awesome and makes great drinks.
Coming off of a good experience that night, we decided to come back on Saturday for their burlesque show - which was one of the highlights of the trip! Great performers, entertaining and hilarious. The place was a bit crowded but we still managed to get good service from David and again had a great time.
I highly recommend this place to everyone!
Incredible food, incredible service, well worth a trip. This place is like stepping right into Italy, everything is ever so authentic and I can't recommend highly enough. Thank you for going out of your way to make mums birthday brilliant. The wait for the tiramisu was sooooo worth it.
Really enjoyed our time at Paesan London last night. Starters were all tasty and reasonably priced. We all had the beef shin pappardelle for mains which was excellent and very filling, complemented by good red wine.
Good vibrant atmosphere with friendly staff happy to do all they can so you have a good time. Half price House cocktails between 5-8pm. Try it!
Great atmosphere, excellent staff and the food was amazing. . . We loved It!
Food is delicious, but i really loved was the impeccable and bubbly service by the staff, incredibly welcoming, especially from Daniela, and everybody else! Al fresco eating at it's best! Thank you!
My first visit to this restaurant, staff were very friendly, food amazing! Very reasonable priced! Would definitely go again...oh and the Polenta Cake is to die for

Good service and great food quality at a easonable price including drinks
I was staying at a hotel just down the road and fancied a change from the boring hotel food, so decided to venture out !!! Glad I did this place is amazing Food was great and the staff were lovely, will be heading back next time I'm there
Delicious food. Friendly service. We really enjoyed our starter and main. Left stuffed. Happy hour as well, so very good value. Excellent quality Italian food.
Had an amazing lunch & dinner here Saturday & was blown away. Best Italian food Ive eaten & the service was outstanding, despite it being extremely busy. Will deffo be coming back!!! Thank you, guys! xxx
Birthday dinner given a private space. Rustic interior and nice staff. The menu is mainly in Italian but it covers most of the classics. The winner of the menu is definitely the truffle chips.
Visited Paesan mid week for a review of their menu. There's an excellent vibe within the restaurant, with an exciting new Christmas menu to boot. Paesan is a definite highlight on Exmouth market, a must visit.
Clerkenwell is not somewhere that is usually on my radar so I hadn’t heard of Paesan before I went to check out their new menu. Situated on the corner of Exmouth Market it’s pretty easy to find though. This place prides itself on going back to basics in a good way. Using ingredients that are readily available and turning them into something delicious is all part of their ideology.
I recently attended the relaunch of Paesan, a rustic Italian bar and kitchen, on the corner of Exmouth Market and Farringdon Road. I never realized that they had an underground bar until that day, with its exposed brickwork, bare bulbs and wooden planked floors and bar, and some groovy wood-panelled private booths which are available to hire for larger groups.I was welcomed by
Exmouth Market continues on its culinary evolution with the arrival of Paesan, a restaurant (and subterranean cocktail bar) that’s part of a growing number of Italian sharing-style restaurants in London. It’s ‘cucina povera’ solidly focuses on using excellence produce, in gutsy, vibrant combinations to a satisfying effect. Half of the menu is dedicated to cured meat, cheese and vegetable antipasti, ‘piccolo’ sharing plates (which aren’t that piccolo) and lusciously adorned four-slice pizzas. These offerings alone can create a varied and tasty dinner for you and friends. The other half of the menu is completed with full-sized meat, fish and pasta dishes, for a more conventional meal if that’s what you’re after. The burrata Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture. It is also defined by some sources as an outer shell of mozzarella filled wi
The melt-in-the-mouth, slow-roasted pork was smokey and succulent, served with wilted cabbage coated in a meaty jus.
Absolutely incredible!!! What's not to love, the decor is stunning and had a really cool but homely feel, the staff are so enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the menu, very charming, and the food is simply Devine - super tasty and fresh! I would recommend for everyone to go there, such a diverse clientele. Loved it
My experience can be summed up into one tantalizing word: Burrata. The second my knife pierced this mozzarella's creamy flesh, I was pleasantly greeted with a velvety smooth interior. A burst of flavor, straight from Italy, best describes what followed. I ordered a clam and spaghetti dish, drizzled in an olive oil and wild garlic sauce. It packed a great punch, and sat extremely well with me. The table exploded in a parade of color and good company as we ate through our order. The only apprehension: seasoning. We unanimously found the meal to be delicious, however, it lacked that little extra kick.
After being told we had to wait for our bread to be cooked. This place got the Nour seal of approval.
Fresh. Tasty. Legit. Three words that perfectly portray Paesan.
The mozzarella is the freshest I've tasted in the UK and the marination of the auberge was exquisite. Not to mention the incredibly crafted casareccia.
Thank you for your lovely hospitality. Well worth going to.
Beautiful risotto. Wanted to have everything on the menu will definitely go back. Stick to savoury the dessert was disappointing
Wow. Just...wow. unbelievably good. We shared several things, and all were spot on. Best pasta I have ever had. It was cooked perfect. A very nice setting. Service was great and personal. Kind of felt like family. Must have the focaccia bread. I think it falls down from heaven every morning.
Fantastic food! The arancini was crunchy and cheesy and the gnocchi was perfect. Left a star off because it smelled moldy after being there a while.
My favourite Italian in London, Although I am bias because i first met my current girlfriend in the bar downstairs.
Food is great and true to traditional Italian flavour. You can quickly tell that fresh and quality ingredients are used.
Drinks are reasonably priced and cocktails well made.
The atmosphere is awesome and buzzing, but if you are there during peak times be picky with your seating because it can get quite loud as the tables are very close to each other.
Staff are really friendly and seem to all be Italian which is amazing as it adds to the great vibe.
All in all, this is a place I would highly recommend!
Walked past it a couple of times and always busy so decided to try it late on a Friday eve after a few drinks in a nearby pub. Simple but good food, nice atmosphere and good vfm.
Amazing food...particularly the warm mini pistachio doughnuts for dessert! Service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry and everyone was pleasant.
Had an absolutely amazing lunch - it was delicious and very filling together with a very good glass of wine. The service was excellent too. Wanted to try a tempting dessert but couldn’t manage this time! Finished with an excellent cappuccino. I would highly recommend this charming restaurant to all Italian food lovers.

Great food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Bit pricey but worth going
Nice place to eat Italian. Great interior, nice staff and good food.
Very good food with very generous dishes.
Want to share my experience at Paesan - both my starter and main course - delicious. Recommendation for my red wine was superb. Cannot fault my dessert either! Great service and value for money - location very convenient too. Will definitely be visiting again soon and will recommend to anyone wanting tasty Italian food in a great atmosphere.
I went here with a date over the weekend. We met in the basement for a drink and the atmosphere was great and the service was perfect. After the first drink my date and I went upstairs to enjoy dinner. She was Italian and said this might be some of the best Italian food she had eaten since moving to London. I was very pleased with the food, environment and service. Would highly recommend Paesan.
Overall, it was very good. Went with a friend for dinner and a drink. We enjoyed our night, it wasn't too loud and my friend and I were able to have a great conversation without being disrupted. The food was very good, nothing exceptional, but still tasty. We would go again. Reasonably priced. They were very accommodating of food sharing.
