The most delicious food, I love this restaurant and their service. Now I live in Cardiff it's worth the drive just to eat the kabab Torsh. I never eat koobideh in any Persian restaurant but the organic veal koobideh here is in another league
Wonderful food. Organic, quality ingredients. Prepared with care and love. The Chenjeh is amazing and the fresh blueberry yoghurt is so simple but so pure.
Simply loved it!
Definitely the best Persian food I've ever had while in London with a great service & friendly waiters. The restaurant is cosy with a nice ambiance & quality of food is top of the tops... Well done guys!
What a fun restaurant in a quiet street near Little Venice. Delicious food and wonderful staff!
Very delicious Persian food. Possibly the best Persian restaurant in London hidden in a nice neighborhood. The kebabs are well grilled and tasty and the service was excellent
Kateh is, without doubt, the best Persian-Iranian restaurant I have been to outside Iran. It’s miles better than anything we’ve got in Dubai. Located in one of the side streets of picturesque Little Venice, its petite ground floor and basement interior is the epitome of smart casual. It’s beautifully Parisian and Persian at the same time.
Love this place. Went there with a few friends and had loads of food (sorry forgot to take pics) starers were delicious and the main meal as well. A fine dining experience in london. The restaurant itself was in a calm and nice location and the ambience inside is great. A real gem indeed. Highly recommended and would go there again. (Be careful though as the prices are a bit high)
Kateh is one of the first restaurants that we tried when we moved into the area – and then we pretty much took everyone there who came to visit! Whilst the menu is quite meat heavy (mainly lamb), there are some very special vegetarian options in there that make this place a regular favourite of mine.
Kateh is barely 10 tables, so the setting is very intimate. The staff are excellent and service was impeccable. The food is good. The only reason I did not give it a 5, was because I have eaten better Persian food.
Its tucked away near Little Venice, so few people know about it, but given the size, it is advisable to Book a Table before visiting.
There are loads of Vegetarian options among the starters. But only one vegetarian maincourse. Murgh Parid - A stew with root vegetables and apricots - It was very tasty though.
I'd heavily recommend the Koofteh Berenji - beef meatballs among the starters and the Adas Pollo - A Persian style biryani among the mains. The Zaytoon Parvadeh was a very unusual starter with olives, that I have never tried before and was a big hit at our table.
They have a good collection of single malts and wines, but don't expect cocktails and ciders.
Starter portions are small, compared to other Persian restaurants in London, but Mains are of a good size.
Kateh is slightly more expensive than normal, but the service and ambiance are worth it.
By far my favourite Persian restaurant in London. The tables are few but it adds to the atmosphere. Tucked away in a small side street of Maida Vale, the food is delicious and the owner greets you with a friendly smile and has a vast knowledge of the wine available to have with your meal. Best fesenjoon in town!
By far the most refined Persian food I've ever had. Not oily or over spiced like other establishments. My kids even want to eat there every week. Great service too. Not arrogant but they take pride in their work. Michael and Paulo treat you like family.
This restaurant is superb, by far the best persian food in town. Sorry but I think this Anglo guy was high on something to write this utter rubbish!!
Terrific and innovative Persian food in a modern oriental setting. One
of my London favorites
The restaurant design is simple yet stylish with the most adorable pink and lilac flowers in pastel plant pots
Great, meaty ‘grow hair on your chest’ olives, is more like it! Absolutely brilliantly paired with a walnut paste, which was more the consistency of a pesto, and a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds for a bit of zesty sweetnes...
I’ve been wanting to try Kateh, a Persian restaurant near Little Venice (north of Paddington), for a while. And when I joined a few colleagues for a dinner there one Friday night, I was not disappointed. What I didn’t expect was such a tiny yet elegant restaurant and the terrace where we were seated was lovely. Though it was chilly that evening, the heaters were on full blast and we never felt cold. Back to the elegance, this is possibly the most refined Persian restaurant I’ve visited in London. Portion sizes are more European in size rather than the usual overflowing platters I tend to get at other Persian restaurants in London. But it’s a lovely, rather romantic place, which, of course, I visited with my colleagues (ahem). The menu was full of things I’ve not seen in other restaurants and the grills had a distinctly Indo-Persian flavour to it (chicken tikka?). We stuck to the purely Iranian things. We split three starters between us. My favourite was the kashke bademjan , a dish of
Lisette García Martin
+4.5
Fantastic! Finished with the safron pistachio icecream and started with the eggplant starter. The meats all have a fine taste and good quality. Great presentation and good taste.
The venue was very nice, and the same goes for the staff. As for the food, we were all satisfied. The prices were highly reasonable. Recommended.
Very interesting menu, superb chicken kebabs........
Hidden gem!
Lived in the area for a year and only discovered it by pure accident. The "Koofteh Berenji" is one of my favourite dishes on the menu, served with fresh bread from the kitchen of course.
They don't advertise the place but are always packed. Must make a reservation in advance, especially on weekends.
Very nice and cozy restaurant serving Persian food. We were seated at the basement, but the staff are extremely attentive and regularly checked up on us so we did not have to struggle to get their attention. The kebab and chicken is very good.
Outstanding! Some of the best food we’ve had in London. Fresh with finesse and a delight in every bite. Good wine list, too.
What a gem! This small and cozy restaurant is a lovely place for intimate dining. Had a excellent experience with my wife last night.
We definitely will come back soon!
Great Persian restaurant to take your Khariji friends, it gives them a fusion of Persian food and western appetite. Great service and great behaviour from the staff. The must have on the list would be the dessert which is the Persian Bastani, it took me back to the old good days. Also, ask for Tahdig and if they have any they will bring it for you.
This is the 2nd time we ate in this restaurant. Food never disappoints us. Love my main course, griĺled fish with spicy potato patty, which is one of the specials of the day. My boyfriend's lamb is so good that it melts in your mouth.
One of my favourite Iranian restaurants in London! Loved their Kebab Barg and Kebab Azari. The starters weren’t my favourite but I would definitely go back for the main dishes!
Firstly the waiters and staff were very polite, friendly, welcoming and attentive. They were helpful to sort out the table for us and efficient in taking orders and helping to select.
We tried jigar for starter. Simply delicious with the exact amount of spice, and beautifully done exact same way as if it was home-made.
Morgh torsh and Kabab torsh were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, and the herbs and spices were simply authentic. Portion was just right for me and I am not usually able to finish my food when dining in a (Persian) restaurant. Saffron rice was also nice.
Four stars is for the price which was slightly high.
Overall nice experience, and I would recommend if you’re in the area.
I can safely say Kateh is the best restaurant outside of Iran, and I'm inclined to say even better than the ones there. The quality of the meat is unmatched and the menu is well thought out. Service is always top notch with warm and hard working staff.
Great service, great food, great restaurant! Definitely worth a visit.
Best Persian food in town!! All down to the owner!! He does everything with his heart!! It is not your typical cello kebab, everything is special on the menu, truly deserves a Michelin Star... the service is excellent, the wine list perfectly chosen, quality of food, the decor, everything is just perfect!!
Possibly the second top Persian restaurant in London. Kabab Torsh was good, Soltani was ok. The ice and cream roulade dessert was the best part 😃
I’ve tried almost all of the Persian restaurants in London and with a high level of confidence I can say Kateh is playing in a different level! Amazing Koobideh, wonderful organic Shishlik, best Persian rice, polite staff and lovely artworks on the wall. 👌🏻🤌🏻
The food is one of the best in London. The service is kind and friendly. The Bulgarian lady, Diana is amazing and very helpful.
There are great choices of food and wine. The seabass is to awesome.
Great late dinner in this intimate restaurant. Staff was attentive and accommodating. Some of the best lamb I've ever had, perfectly cooked.
Excellent food at reasonable prices. High quality food. Great staff. One of the best Persian restaurants in London. Definitely recommend.
Outstanding classical Iranian cuisine. My guest and I both thought this was among the very best restaurant meals we've eaten in a very long time.
