So working my way down the Canalside restaurants and got to Gotto. (See why now) Well on such a beautiful day could not have asked for better. Attentive service great food and not too overpriced good Italian wine. I can personally recommend the Buratta it melted in the mouth!..........my advice.....GO!

An outstanding, authentic Italian restaurant. The menu contains classic Italian dishes, quite simple but brilliantly cooked and the best ingredients. The service is impeccable and the staff are friendly and highly experienced. They made our experience fun and interesting. The location, by the canalside was perfect. We ate on a hot, sunny day and the front of the restaurant was completely opened up to keep things cool. Highly recommended.

This restaurant take pride in their home made pasta and they are right to; without doubt the best pasta I have ever eaten. Friendly and helpful waiting staff who were attentive but not intrusive.

Nice place, amazing food: it made me come back home for a while. That's how 'real' tasty food tastes like and it makes you simply happy.

I came across this little Italian restaurant while visiting Here East. Maybe my rating is influenced by the fact that I returned from Italy just yesterday, but it was indeed lovely! Attentive waiters and chefs who speak Italian and delicious ravioli!

Setting is lovely along the Canal at Here East.  In good weather, eating al fresco would be really charming.  Staff were knowledgeable about the menu.

The four of us shared a bunch of starters.  We had the large serving of grilled vegetables, fritto misto, salami, and turbot carpaccio.  With the exception of the salami, which came in thick slices, portions were quite small.  Grilled veg had a subtle hint of mint.  Fritto misto was mostly calamari with two little fried fish with homemade mayo.  I couldn't really discern the garlic in what was billed as alioli.  Raw turbot was served with a pleasant mayo based sauce but a small portion.

For mains there were two orders of the big steak fiorentina and two orders of ricotta ravioli with shaved truffle.  Steak was very good, and tasted of the charcoal grill.  It was served with a half bulb of baked garlic and grilled lemon.  The meat eaters shared one enormous portion of so-so fries.  Thin cut and only fried once.  The ravioli was very rich being in a butter based sauce, and came with a generous amount of truffle.  Pasta portion was small, but that was probably appropriate given the richness of the dish.

The four of us shared three desserts.  The standout was goats milk ice cream with berries.  Very rich with an elastic texture and a lingering aftertaste of goat's milk.  Cherry tart was pleasant with a rich short crust base.  Hazelnut beignet was just okay.

Decent food but somewhat pricey given some of the portion sizes.

Good. 4 small plates between 2 the a main each then a desert and lemoncello. Only remembered to take photos of small starter plates, sorry! Nonetheless it was very good food, from my experience of Italy, it was very authentic. Lost a little on atmosphere as we were sat outside getting a bizarre blend of their own music and at least two of the neighbours, quite different music. Service was fine but little things let it down - I ordered a bottle of beer and the glass brought with it was warm. My wife's white wine could have been colder - although presuming it was from the same fridge, maybe that glass was also warm when the wine was poured? And it wasn't mad busy, there was only maybe one other table when we arrived and two when we left, so it was unlikely that all the glasses available were straight from the washer. But generally good. My biggest regret is not just ordering all the tuna tartare I could. Everything else was good but that was incredible.

Spent a lovely lunch here at Gotto, thoroughly enjoyed the splendid spaghetti with mussels, calamari, burrata and pizza! The panacotta and tiramisu was beautiful! Compliments towards the brilliant chef Mauritzio, everything was tasteful and full of Italian flavour! Marco’s service was warm and welcoming and a shout-out to Naz for friendliness! We loved this place, you gotta try out Gotto!

We just had a delicious meal at Gotto Trattoria, with a beautiful view right in front of the sunset! We are already big fans of their partner restaurant Mele e Pere and have been wanting to try this one out for ages! We can’t recommend enough both the tagliatelle al ragù and the maccheroncini with truffle and sausage, both were delicious! We also had zucchini fritti, which were crispy and super tasty! We ended our meal with a creamy tiramisu!

We had a fantastic meal here the night before my brothers wedding, we were a group of about 20 family including small children and the staff were so accommodating and patient with us! The food was incredible, the homemade pasta was something else and my wife is still talking about it 3 days later! Great atmosphere too. Thank you!

Gotto Trattoria is our favourite place to eat in East London. We recently visited with a larger family group the night before our wedding. As usual the food was spectacular but we were especially impressed with Andrea and the other staff’s ability to make us feel so welcome. We were so grateful for their accommodating our unusually large group. Can’t wait to return and have everything else off the menu.

already knew Gotto for their Italian pizzas, in my opinion one of the best pizzerias in London, but I recently was impressed by their Italian restaurant, customer service and chef. Gotto has a good selection of genuine Italian dishes, from antipasti to meat / fish and desserts. The service was high standard and I even had the chance to know the chef, Maurizio, who took care of our orders, providing great suggestions on our meal and checking at all times if everything was right with our orders. I am Italian and I can say that at Gotto you get genuine Italian dishes and an overall Italian restaurant experience. Prices are reasonable and the location is really special (view over the canal, adjacent to pubs and other restaurants, in the middle of a very trendy area of London).

Went here for dinner last night- the starters were excellent and the pizza was so good! The pasta was nice- I had the spaghetti and mussels which I didn't expect to be so creamy. The broccoli in it was quite overpowering. The tiramisu was great but portion quite small. All in all a solid option for Italian food in East London.

Gorgeous location just by the canal perfect for taking in some sun whilst sipping on a spritz! Restaurant staff were super attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. Deep fried squid was light and crispy, I could have ordered an extra portion for sure. I also had the veggie pizza, the crust was just right and the quality of ingredients good. My two friends got the prawn spaghetti with courgette and chilli which is currently a special - they both loved it and both agreed the chef should add it to the regular menu ! I will be coming back very soon. Recommended!

My new favorite resto near me! So happy I found this. The arancini was soooo flavorful. The pizzas were incredible - so full of flavor and perfectly balanced. And the tiramisu was probably the best I’ve had. Perfect for a date night for my fiancé and I. The staff was also super friendly. Will definitely be back soon!!

Lovely place, food is really good and portions are very generous. Ordered a Gotto Pizza for myself, but had to ask for a takeaway box to bring a half home. We shared Zucchini Fritti for starter between 3 of us and it was enough, courgettes were so tasty and crunchy, just needed a little bit of extra salt for our liking.

That's the perfect place to eat freshly made TRUE ITALIAN FOOD! You can have starters, pasta, pizza, salad and dessert - daily made tiramisu it's a must try when you go! We had special menu sausage and pizza. Gluten free choices for my intolerance it's great! There is a good variety of wine as well! Primitivo it's something you should go for. Attentive service and friendly staff. Thank you

Fantastic dinner, We passed by chance by this beautiful restaurant located on the canal. We were greeted by the manager, where he immediately greeted us with a big smile and a lot of hospitality. The fregola and the tagliatelle were two exceptional dishes.

The location is just amazing, beautiful spot to enjoy a meal with a family. The food is absolutely delicious, we were delighted by the service and the personal recommendation by the chef Mauritzio. Pasta was to Italian standards and the tasty pizza completed the experience. Great food at reasonable prices, definitely coming back soon!

It's a lovely spot and we enjoyed the food. The only downside is the extra charge for vegan cheese, which came as a surprise with the bill. I enquired about vegan options before ordering and was told that the veggie pizzas could be made vegan with vegan cheese, but they conveniently forgot to mention the extra charge, and it's not specified on the menu.
